Seeing Jas Black furrowing his eyebrows and staring at her with a cool gaze, Jane Sampson quickly picked up her bowl and moved to sit next to Old Master Black.
She didn’t have any particular reason, just the fear that Jas Black might tell her not to be picky about her food and then give back to her the stuff she had painstakingly sorted out.
Brooke Black looked at Jane Sampson with amusent and couldn’t help but let out a soft laugh.
She could tell that Jane was getting better at understanding Jas Black’s temperant.
"By the way, Jas, for this vacation, are you and Jane planning to stay at the Black Residence, or are you planning to go back to your place? If you’re staying here, I can ask the cook to prepare more of the food you both love in the next few days," Brooke Black asked.
"We’ll stay for one day tomorrow, and go back ho after dinner the day after tomorrow." The arrangent was also so Jas could spend so ti with the three seniors in the house.
"Alright, then I’ll discuss it with the cook tomorrow," Brooke Black said, imdiately delighted upon hearing this.
Peter Gingery was even less ho than Jas was, and the house sotis felt quite empty. It was rare for Jas Black and Jane Sampson to stay at ho for two nights, and both Aunt Black and Old Sir were very happy.
Brooke Black thought that her husband would probably cancel his social commitnts for tomorrow night once he found out, choosing to co ho early from work to have dinner.
Jane Sampson, who only drank soup and didn’t eat at, was the first to finish. After saying she was full, she put down her chopsticks and headed upstairs. Old Master Black watched her hasten away and teased her from behind, "She must be afraid that Jas will call her back to eat at."
"She’s picky." Jas Black furrowed his eyebrows when talking about this issue. "It can’t be corrected."
"People normally have foods they don’t eat, one way or another. The fact that she finished a bowl of soup is already good; don’t treat her like a three-year-old," Aunt Black advised, genuinely concerned that Jas might be too strict with Jane.
"This ti she ca back from filming, little Jane has lost a lot of weight," Old Master Black sighed. "I don’t know if it’s because filming is particularly hard, but now that you kids have grown up, you all tend to only share good news, not the worries."
Jane Sampson had been ill for half a month before and had beco so thin that there was hardly any at on her bones, so her weight loss now was quite noticeable.
Old Master Black had noticed this long ago, but as Jane seed to be in good spirits, he didn’t ntion it. Instead, he made sure the cook prepared Jane’s favorite als for every al and even arranged for late-night snacks for her.
"Little Jane marrying you is really a hardship; you don’t know how to take care of soone at all!" Old Master Black chided Jas Black with this last remark after drinking the last sip of his soup, before turning and heading back to his room with his hands behind his back.
Jas Black’s expression remained indifferent; after all, he was used to it by now.
Aunt Black, however, struggled to contain her laughter. It was clear that Old Sir’s heart was completely biased and had leaned entirely towards Jane.
Ever since Old Sir had started using Twitter, he had beco familiar with Jane’s fans and was constantly talking about her.
"Do you want to have the cook prepare a cup of calming tea for you tonight?" Brooke Black waited until Old Sir had left and then asked Jas Black with concern.
Brooke Black didn’t know the specific details of Jas Black’s mission, but she had heard it might involve sacrifices.
Given Jas Black’s position, if a task wasn’t genuinely challenging, he was rarely deployed. His prolonged absence this ti suggested a formidable level of danger.
Brooke Black understood the probable reason behind Jas Black’s chance to co ho and rest, which was why she wondered if he needed the calming tea.
