"Miss Sampson, you really have a keen eye." The employee leading the way in front turned around with a cheerful smile, scratching his head a bit awkwardly, "Could I ask you a favor, Miss Sampson, not to tell our leader that I’m still working part-ti as a security guard? My family is recently facing difficulties, urgently needing money. I had no choice but to look for a part-ti job. The security work over there is easy, three shifts, doesn’t conflict with my work here, that’s why I went there for part-ti."
"Miss Sampson, I’m begging you, please don’t report , or else I’ll lose both jobs. My family is currently relying on to support everyone. If I lose the job, we won’t have a way to live." The male employee pleaded earnestly.
"Rest assured, I won’t report you," Jane Sampson shook her head, "I just looked at your back earlier, found it a bit familiar, took a closer look, and was surprised to recognize you."
Jane Sampson was worried that she might have frightened a young man working hard to make ends et, so she quickly added, "It’s good that you’re young, striving hard, but working from day till night, you should take care of your body too. It’s exhausting, if you tire yourself out later, your family will feel both pained and guilty. Making money is important, but you should take care of your health first."
"Miss Sampson, you’re truly a kind person," the hotel employee replied softly, "I understand the reasoning but it’s sothing unmanageable. However, after getting through this period, things will be fine."
"That’s good," Jane Sampson acknowledged. After all, it was just an encounter by chance, so she didn’t ask much about what difficulties he was facing.
Garage 198 is where the hotel special vehicles are parked, placed in a relatively inconspicuous corner. Walking from the elevator entrance over there requires so ti.
As the group was walking, suddenly, there ca a cry for help from ahead.
"Is anyone there? Anyone, help!" Along with the cries for help, there were bursts of noisy fighting sounds.
"Who’s there!" The hotel employee imdiately perked up, craning his head towards the source of the sound.
There was no response from over there, the cries for help grew louder, and the fighting sounds beca more intense.
"Sorry, I have to go over there and take a look," the hotel employee said, then looked at Jane Sampson and Jas Carter, asking, "The noise over there feels a bit intense, could you find soone to accompany over to check it out?"
"Ratty, you go with him and take a look," Jane Sampson called out to Ratty who was walking ahead.
Listening to such loud sounds from the front, Jane Sampson worried about the young hotel employee encountering danger alone. But Ratty was different, Ratty is a retired security guard, Brooke Black could arrange people to co over because there’s sothing special about Ratty and Grid.
"Let’s go find the car first," Jas Carter said to Jane Sampson, "leave soone here to wait, we can’t help much here, let’s get in the car first."
Jane Sampson nodded, after all, listening to the sounds, the fighting seems not far from here. If they really rush over here, anyone can run fast, but Jas Carter’s legs aren’t convenient, he can’t escape quickly. So, for the safety of Jas Carter, Jane Sampson agreed to first go inside the car to wait.
"You stay," Jas Carter turned to the assistant, "wait here, we’ll go find the car."
After speaking, Jas Carter then called the remaining people to go with him first to follow the ground-level garage number to find Garage 198.
Probably because they were startled by the unexpectedness over there, everyone hurried along the way.
