"If you need to discuss matters, go into the study." Old Master Black waved his hand at Jas and Liam, urging them inside. After Jas left, he leisurely reclined on the chair.
Jane Sampson reached out to rock the reclining chair, her gaze following Jas as he walked inside.
"They’ve all gone in, what else is there to see?" Old Master Black teased Jane, "Are you really so fond of him? Before, you used to say he annoyed you to death."
"Distance makes the heart grow fonder, close up, it’s a nuisance. At most, I’ll fancy him for two more days." Jane raised two thumbs up, "No more than three days, I’m sure I’ll find him annoying again."
This was definitely a sincere statent, making Old Master Black chuckle.
Liam and Jas were in the study talking for less than half an hour. When he left, Jane Sampson was in the courtyard playing ball with the Great General.
Jas had finished but didn’t co downstairs; he stood on the study’s balcony watching.
Jane Sampson couldn’t keep up with the Great General, and after running back and forth twice, she was out of breath, sitting by Old Master Black’s side, with her cheeks flushed, talking about sothing that made Old Master Black laugh heartily.
The Great General hadn’t had enough fun yet, biting the ball, and nudging Jane’s palm repeatedly. When Jane avoided it, it stood there barking its dissatisfaction twice.
"It’s strange, Liam Woody has been gone for so long, why hasn’t Jas co downstairs?" Jane talked with Old Master Black for a while, but seeing no sign of Jas coming downstairs, she looked up towards the study.
Seeing Jas standing on the balcony watching her, Jane got up and hopped back into the house, heading upstairs.
"Jas~" When Jane got to the study’s entrance, Jas happened to co out. She stopped and stood at the doorway, smiling and asking, "What were you doing standing there just now?"
"Planning when to start taking you for morning runs." Jas shared his plan, "Starting in two days."
Upon hearing this, Jane’s expression changed.
"Pretend I didn’t ask anything."
After throwing out a sentence, she turned and was about to run.
Jas knew she would do this, so he quickly reached out to stop her from running.
"You can’t even outrun the Great General." Jas reached out to wipe the sweat off Jane’s forehead, "Counting in human years, the Great General is already considered old."
Jane pursed her lips, feeling she had a thousand, even ten thousand words to retort, but knowing it was useless to argue with Jas at this ti, she chose not to waste her breath.
Just as Jane was planning to find another excuse to slip away, suddenly, the big iron gate’s doorbell rang downstairs.
Words that were at the tip of her tongue turned into curiosity about the visitor.
"Who’s here?" Jane pulled Jas back to the study and stood by the window, looking outside.
The driver and nanny hadn’t returned yet, and there was no one else in the house, so Old Master Black himself went to open the door.
Outside stood a well-dressed stranger, holding a briefcase.
"Hello, you must be Old Master Black? I’m Mr. Sampson’s agent lawyer. Sorry to disturb you, Old Master Black. I’m here on behalf of my client, Mr. Sampson, to discuss the matter of inheritance distribution and succession concerning his foster daughter."
The lawyer spoke as he pulled out his business card from his pocket and handed it to Old Master Black with both hands.
