Jane Sampson was able to enter the learning class thanks to Rock Bell pulling strings, so everyone in the class knew about Jane Sampson’s good relationship with the company’s gold-dal agent Rock Bell—especially since Rock Bell had personally visited the class to see Jane Sampson two days before the course began.
Because of this connection, everyone was quite friendly with Jane Sampson; no matter how much envy they harbored in their hearts for her easily gaining entrance through backdoor channels to a class that required rigorous selection, at least on the surface, they were all nice to her, addressing her affectionately as "little sister."
For Jane, the two months had been exhausting yet joyful, and ti seed to fly so fast that she hardly had ti to do anything else.
At the Solar Planet Guardian Team base hidden in the suburbs of Capital Province, Peter Gingery was scrolling through Monts on his mobile phone and then slipped it into his pocket, muttering to himself the whole while.
Jas Black, who had just sat down beside Peter Gingery with his al, heard Peter ntioning the na Jane Sampson, he glanced at Peter and casually asked, "What’s up with her?"
Peter Gingery, Jane Sampson, and Nina Rice had grown up playing together; Jas had always known that Peter and Jane had a very good relationship.
"That little lass seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth recently." Peter turned his head to see Jas and continued, "Brother, have you been in touch with her lately? I’ve noticed she hasn’t updated her Monts for almost two months now, which is really abnormal. I scrolled through her Monts, and her last post was from the day before we got back from training."
"Monts? WhatsAPP?" Jas didn’t use WhatsAPP, so the unfamiliar term Monts took him a few seconds to recall what it was.
"Yes." Peter mumbled to himself, thinking that nowadays even his grandpa had a WhatsAPP account; it was nearly impossible to find a second person whose mobile phone was used solely for making calls, like his cousin.
Jas did have a WhatsAPP account, but he rarely used it; he probably wouldn’t even be able to rember his account number himself by now.
"Jane used to post several monts a day, every day of the year without fail. Whether she was eating sothing and wanted to take a picture to post it, or seeing a funny joke she wanted to share, even a little mushroom sprouting in the flower pot on the balcony would get a post. She was so keen to be active on Monts that when she didn’t update for so long, I first thought I had been blocked by her once again."
Being blocked was a commonplace occurrence between Peter and Jane, but it was usually just for a joke; they would block each other and then add each other back after half a day.
For over a month, Peter had been wondering why Jane suddenly changed and beca quiet. But this silence, lasting almost two months, made Peter think sothing was wrong.
Why would soone suddenly act out of character for no reason? There must have been sothing that happened.
"I called her early this morning, rang her several tis but didn’t hear her pick up. Brother, don’t you find this odd?" Peter thought for a mont and then suggested, "Bro, why don’t you give her a call? Or maybe go back ho this weekend?"
Peter asked tentatively, worried on one hand that Jas might cut him off and concerned on the other hand that if Jas did go back, Jane would find out it was he who had nudged Jas to go and that she might beat him up later.
Peter could tell how annoyed Jane was about Jas coming ho just by looking at Jane’s Monts. Whenever Jas was coming ho the next day, there would surely be a new monts post from Jane.
Oh my god!!!!!!!! Crying.
One sigh, a long string of exclamation marks, and a crying emoji.
This had been an unchanging pattern over the years, a special sentint that Jane held exclusively towards Jas.
"She didn’t pick up the phone?" Jas took note of this detail that Peter had ntioned.
