"Yes, she didn’t answer, and she didn’t reply to the ssages I sent her the past two days either," Peter Gingery quickly nodded in agreent, "That’s why I’m worried about her. You know what the Sampton family is like, especially that woman Julie Sampton, she’s particularly cunning. Aunt Sampton, well, she’s particularly soft-hearted when it cos to Julie, and since Julie likes to oppose Jane in everything, I’m worried sothing might have happened to Jane, like maybe she’s been bullied or sothing."

In Peter’s eyes, Jane Sampson was a person who appeared strong on the outside but was tough on the inside, though this façade of strength was only in front of him. In others’ eyes, Jane was like a docile little white rabbit, the kind so gentle that everyone feels they could pinch her without a second thought.

As Jas Black didn’t answer imdiately, Peter grew anxious, "Brother, if you’re not going back, then approve my leave. Tomorrow is Saturday, so just give two days off, and I’ll go check on her. It’s been a long ti since I’ve seen Jane Sampson and Nina Rice."

ntioning taking leave from the Solar Planet Guardian Team, Peter Ginergy instantly cheered up, thinking that his going to find Jane would definitely cheer her up more than if Jas went.

"I’ll go back ho tonight," Jas Black finally spoke up. After he had finished speaking, he quickly emptied his dining plate of the als on it, washed the empty plate, and then left the dining hall.

After leaving the dining hall, Jas thought it over and eventually took out his mobile phone to make a call to Jane Sampson. Since Peter had ntioned she had been acting out of character, it must be true.

Although he was Jane Sampson’s husband, Jas knew that when it ca to understanding Jane, Peter, who had grown up with her, knew her much better than he did.

The phone rang for a long ti with no one answering until it ended automatically. Jas clenched his mobile phone, a slight frown forming on his eyebrows, and he made another call.

This ti, it was still the sa, no answer. Jas then put his mobile phone away.

In the evening, because he was preoccupied with thoughts of Jane, Jas didn’t even have dinner at the Solar Planet Guardian Team and drove ho instead. He was lucky on the road, encountering no traffic jams, and he got ho around 6 o’clock.

In September, the light at around 6 o’clock in the afternoon was no longer as bright as in the sumr. Upon entering the residential community, every ho had their lights on. Jas, driving his car, looked up at the top floor from downstairs only to find that at this ti there were no lights on in his house.

Jas wasn’t sure if there was no one at ho or if Jane wasn’t in the living room, which was why the light was off.

After parking the car, Jas hurriedly took the elevator up, opened the door to his house, and was imdiately t with an air of bleak emptiness.

"Jane Sampson," Jas called out her na as he changed shoes at the doorway but, receiving no response, he then turned on the lights in the living room.

From the mont Jas reached out to touch the light switch, he felt sothing was off. After turning on the light, his palm was covered with a layer of dust. Looking down, he saw it was indeed dust.

In the living room, not to ntion the floor, even the white tea table was visibly covered with a thin layer of dust.

The state of the house suggested that no one had lived there for at least over a month.

Jas quickly took out his mobile phone and imdiately redialed Jane’s number. Before the call went through, he rembered Jane had once brought up divorcee and went to the bedroom to open the wardrobe for a look; her clothes and jewelry were mostly still there.

This ti, Jane’s phone was picked up. She greeted him with a "hello" over the phone, her voice carrying a clear sense of exhaustion.

"Jane Sampson, where are you?" Jas asked in a cool tone.
