Jas Black placed his water cup on the tea table and sat down next to Jane Sampson, without doing anything, just staring at the extrely excited Jane.
"Hmm, I can tell," Jas Carter laughed softly over the phone.
Jas Carter was sowhat surprised, a person who had directly refused his offer for cooperation was this excited upon receiving his call.
But he was also amused by Jane’s frankness, as she didn’t even try to hide how excited she was.
"Am I disturbing you by calling at this ti? I wanted to ask about the reason you refused my invitation. Ms. Little is a good friend of mine, and she recomnded you highly, saying you would be the guest I was looking for. I watched the videos of you participating in competitions later and confird that Ms. Little was right," he said.
Every sentence from Jas Carter was polite, showing not the slightest hint of disdain for Jane, despite being of higher status in their circle.
Jane was quite surprised; she had refused Jas Carter’s invitation and had guessed he might find her a bit ungrateful, but had not expected that he would call her personally just to politely inquire about her reasons.
It was only now that Jane finally believed that so people, whether in front of the cara or behind it, were always consistent.
"I’m sorry, it’s a personal reason," Jane apologized seriously, "You might find what I’m about to say quite fake, but I really do like your music, and have been a fan for many years."
"Thank you," the man’s voice in the conversation remained gentle, "I’m also in Capital Province now, and if you don’t mind, could I take you out for a al tomorrow?"
This ti, Jane truly was startled again.
"Is it inconvenient?" Jas Carter asked.
"No, no, it’s convenient," Jane responded eagerly.
"Then let’s et tomorrow at noon. I’ll send the location to your mobile phone in a text ssage later. So, see you tomorrow," Jas Carter thought for a mont, then added, "I’ll invite Ms. Little as well, so you don’t have to be too nervous, just think of it as eting a new friend."
Jane agreed, but after hanging up the phone, she felt as if she were dreaming.
She turned her head to et Jas Black’s stern expression, reached out and tapped him, "Pinch to see if it hurts, to check if I’m dreaming. Jas Carter actually called personally!"
Jas Black’s hand didn’t move, but his expression shifted slightly as he stood up and walked away.
Jane didn’t pay attention to Jas Black, but held her mobile phone and foolishly smiled to herself, overwheld with happiness.
Though she wasn’t sure if the number that Jas Carter had just used was his private phone number, Jane still quietly saved it.
A while later, the text ssage from Jas Carter arrived. Jane glanced at the address; coincidentally, it was the private restaurant she and Nina Rice had visited twice before.
Jane sent a text ssage back to acknowledge she received it. After putting down her phone, she realized she couldn’t calm down enough to read the script.
The person she thought was once far away from her suddenly beca closer, then again suddenly moved further away, becoming more and more distant.
But now, it seed like he was extraordinarily close.
Jane didn’t know if anyone else had ever felt the sa way; the Jas Carter who supported her through the hardest ti, like a god on the stage giving her courage, seed untouchable but was always in her heart, occupying a very important place.
