This is a spiritual sustenance, as well as a spiritual belief.

Jane Sampson knew this was not about chasing stars.

After zoning out on the sofa for a while, Jane Sampson slowly ca back to her senses, turned her head around, and not seeing Jas Black, she padded in her slippers to look for him, finally finding him in the study.

She pushed the door open and walked in, calling out to him, "Why were you ignoring just now?"

"Why should I pay attention to you?" Jas Black retorted.

To see her that excited over a phone call from another man as if she had won hundreds of millions?

Jane Sampson huffed with an air of contempt as she slamd the door of Jas Black’s study, returned to the living room to put the script away in the bedroom, and didn’t bother with Jas Black anymore, taking her change of clothes into the bathroom on her own.

Because her right hand was inconvenient, Jane Sampson struggled to even get undressed, panting with the effort, and taking a bath, along with changing clothes, ended up taking almost an hour.

Lying in bed, what Jane Sampson was thinking was that she would et Jas Carter tomorrow, and even if she asked Jas Black for help, she still needed to put on so light makeup before going out. eting Jas Carter with a bare face just felt like a lack of respect.

Jas Black ca in while Jane Sampson was thinking about what to wear the next day. After entering, he sat down at the edge of the bed, staring intently at the person who hadn’t noticed his entrance.

He asked indifferently, "Do you have plans tomorrow at noon?"

"Mm, Senior Carter invited and Ms. Little for lunch," Jane Sampson nodded.

"Then shopping and watching a movie tomorrow are canceled," Jas Black said as he stood up and headed for the bathroom.

"Hey, hey, hey!"

Jane Sampson quickly reached out to grab Jas Black, "Why cancel it?" She had been looking forward to the shopping and movies all the way.

"Tomorrow afternoon, after I finish lunch, we can go to the shopping mall, and after that, we can go to the movies. If we don’t have enough ti, we’ll have dinner outside and head straight to watch the evening show," Jane Sampson thought her plan was perfect.

"One o’clock at noon tomorrow, don’t wait if I’m late," Jas Black said, removing Jane Sampson’s hand that was tightly clutching his sleeve, and turned to enter the bathroom.

One o’clock?

And not wait if he’s late?

Jane Sampson gnashed her teeth in anger. Did he really have to be so petty? Would waiting for her another half an hour or an hour take a chunk out of Chief Black’s flesh?

After Jas Black entered the bathroom, Jane Sampson simply went to the cloakroom to find clothes for tomorrow.

She tried on several of her favorite dresses in front of the mirror, unsure whether to go for a more subdued color or the brighter red.

Finally, hearing the sound of the bathroom door opening, Jane Sampson ca out of the cloakroom with the dresses in hand, stopped Jas Black as he ca out of the bathroom, and asked, "Which one do you think looks best on ?"

Jas Black’s gaze swept over the dresses in Jane Sampson’s hand. Without a word, he walked past, grabbed the hairdryer, and began to dry his hair.

He didn’t acknowledge Jane Sampson at all from beginning to end, let alone give her an answer.

At this ti, Jas Black’s mind was replaying past events.

In his mory, even on the day they went to get their marriage certificate, Jane Sampson had not been so fastidious about what to wear. In the photo on the marriage certificate, she wore a pure white knee-length dress, just like she normally did.

If Jas Black rembered correctly, when they went out to get their certificate that day, Jane Sampson hadn’t even put on lipstick.

Tomorrow was just about eting Jas Carter, yet Jane had started pondering since that night what to wear for the occasion, insistent on finding her most beautiful outfit.

Chapter 329: You’ve Changed

"Is this guy unhappy again?" Jane Sampson muttered to herself while holding a dress in the cloakroom. When Jas Black ignored her, it was often because she had just done sothing to provoke him.

But what had she done just now?

Jane hung the dress back in the cloakroom and then walked out, heading straight towards Jas, standing in front of him as he dried his hair, her gaze intensely fixed on him.

Jas glanced at Jane and continued with what he was doing.

Jane had thought he would ask her what she was looking at. In that case, she could’ve taken the opportunity to ask him why he was ignoring her, but no, the guy just kept silent.

How frustrating!

Jane huffed, circled around Jas, deliberately making her footsteps particularly heavy, and then climbed back into the bed, her face almost bearing the unsaid words.

Better soothe the baby, or the baby is going to get angry too.

Jas didn’t look back at Jane even after he had finished drying his hair. After putting away his stuff, he went outside to pour a glass of water and brought it in, going around to place it on the bedhead cabinet next to Jane, so she could easily reach for it if she woke up during the night.

Knowing Jane was watching him all along, but Jas turned his head in Jane’s direction, their eyes eting. Like a thief caught in the act, Jane guiltily shifted her eyes away, yet still huffed with pride.

It was quite soft, but audible enough.

Jas curved the corner of his mouth and lay back down in his spot, flipping back the thin blanket and said to Jane, "Co here."

"I don’t want to," Jane mumbled in response, but her body honestly edged closer and closer to Jas.

He chuckled. When Jane moved closer, he reached out and pulled her into his arms.

"Jas, I’ve noticed you’ve developed several particularly bad habits recently," Jane said seriously, nuzzling her face on his shoulder like a cat before suddenly looking up at him.

"Tell ," Jas replied, his mood quite good.

"You keep ignoring people for no reason." Jane complained. "Like just now! You didn’t even respond when I called you."

"Why should I entertain your ridiculous questions?" Jas retorted with a scoff of mockery.

Jane almost felt like Jas had a point there, with that attitude as if it was only natural not to pay attention to her, that expression as if he just wouldn’t care—she was nearly misled by it.

"What’s so ridiculous about it? It’s just asking which outfit looks nicer on ! Besides, you keep taking liberties recently, like holding hands, hugging, and kissing. What’s that all about? Can you change these bad habits of yours?"

Jane was thoroughly riled up at this point, her pretty eyes wide, baring her small white teeth, the very picture of soone about to bite.

"Who?" Jas expressed his disapproval of the word Jane used, "I haven’t touched anybody. I’ve touched my wife, the duly docunted wife on the marriage certificate."

After having said that, Jas even let out a soft laugh, "Legal intimacy, why would I change that?"

Jane was utterly speechless. Why hadn’t she noticed before that the man, who used to be so sparing with words, was such a debater?

Jane suddenly called out to Jas very seriously, and once she made sure his gaze was on her, she slowly said, "You’ve changed."

Upon hearing this, those three words seed to carry a hint of accusation.
