"I’m not happy about it at all!" Jane Sampson quickly protested after giving Jas Black a kick to the lower leg.
Her mouth says no but her heart says yes; she would place second in this world at denying her true feelings, and no one would dare claim first.
"Or is it because my skills weren’t good before, so you didn’t want to? But things have changed, Jane Sampson. With my learning ability, I think you should trust at least once."
"..." Why did he have to be so serious and earnest all of a sudden, like convening a big eting with that atmosphere and expression to talk about this sort of thing?
Honestly, she didn’t want to talk about it at all, okay?
Jane wriggled in Jas Black’s arms, huffed, and tried to break free, but his hands were like iron, immovable no matter how much she twisted and turned.
"Jane Sampson." Jas Black’s palm pressed on her lower back. "Move again, and you’re on your own."
Feeling the temperature of Jas Black’s body rising steadily, Jane chickened out in seconds, pouted, and quietly huffed, but in the end, she really didn’t dare to move anymore.
Jas Black held Jane Sampson in his arms, restraining himself. Although she stopped moving, the scent of her breathing was all around him.
Only then did Jas Black realize that when it ca down to it, it didn’t matter if Jane Sampson was still; the fanciful thoughts in his heart just couldn’t be tamped down.
Jas Black waited five minutes without hearing Jane speak, so he tentatively asked, "Jane, should I be gentler?"
After speaking, Jas Black just waited for Jane Sampson’s response.
During the first minute, he didn’t get an answer from Jane Sampson, and he thought she was using silence as a form of rejection, purposely ignoring him.
During the second minute of silence, Jas Black thought she was protesting.
It was only during the third minute that Jas Black looked down at the overly quiet Jane Sampson in his arms, and that’s when he noticed.
Heh, the person who not long before had been twisting like a pretzel in his arms had fallen asleep at so point.
No wonder his exploratory question had not elicited her scolding or rolling eyes, and no surprise that she was unusually well-behaved.
Jas Black leaned down to touch her lips with his, intending to wake her with a kiss, but seeing her sleeping so soundly, he ultimately didn’t have the heart to disturb her slumber, rely biting gently on the corner of her mouth before letting her go.
Jas Black sighed as he entered the bathroom, and soon after, the sound of rushing water filled the space, a sound that didn’t disturb the deeply sleeping Jane Sampson in the slightest.
After falling asleep, Jane Sampson beca as docile as a newborn kitten, curling herself up without him, with half her head already buried under the quilt.
When Jas Black laid back down and reached out his hand to pull, he brought her right back into his arms, and the little kitten beca a curled-up sleeper in his embrace.
Jane Sampson cherished her sleep that night deeply.
For soone who worried before sleep that she wouldn’t be able to get up tomorrow morning, every extra minute of sleep was precious.
However...
Jane Sampson was woken up at 5 o’clock in the morning by a noise.
It wasn’t Jas Black who woke her up; it was Jas Black’s phone.
Or more precisely, it wasn’t even five o’clock yet when Jas Black’s phone suddenly rang, and when Jane Sampson, deeply asleep, opened her eyes, she had the look of a murderer.
But, after hearing what Jas Black said on the phone, that expression quickly disappeared.
After Jas Black hung up, Jane Sampson looked at him dumbfounded, "Are you going back to the guard team?"
"Yeah, there’s an ergency at the guard team." Jas Black patted Jane Sampson’s head. "You keep sleeping; I’ll go wash up."
