So, it seed like everyone suddenly realized that Goddess Jane wasn’t just pulling their legs.
"Lieutenant Johnson, Goddess Jane, she really is our sister-in-law?" a team mber asked, unable to let it go, clutching tightly at the teammate next to him.
His expression was one of utter despair, almost on the verge of tears.
"Is there a problem?" Lieutenant Johnson retorted, "What’s with that look on your face?"
"Did the Chief and you tell us that?" the team mber pressed on.
"I don’t need the Chief to tell , wouldn’t I know myself? I was fully in charge of this show’s recording, and as the person reviewing the audit information, would I not know these people’s backgrounds?" Lieutenant Johnson couldn’t hold back and scoffed, "Are you an idiot?"
The teammates understood then—that Lieutenant Johnson had known from the start that their Goddess Jane was the Chief’s wife.
So, this matter was truly undeniable and indeed, wouldn’t change.
Looking at Jane Sampson with a smile on her face, for so reason, they felt that perhaps Goddess Jane was forcing a smile. After all, being married to their Chief, such a boring man, her marital life must be really dull and uninteresting, right?
Especially since the Chief was hardly ever ho, leaving their Goddess Jane at ho all alone—it was just too much!
"Goddess Jane, we’re sorry, we misunderstood you," John River was the first to stand up, scratching his head and apologizing awkwardly, "I accidentally saw you kissing the Chief on the mountain, so I thought you two were in that kind of relationship. Thankfully, you’re not that kind of person."
But why did he now feel inexplicably heartbroken for his Goddess Jane?
"Goddess Jane really is our general’s wife! She’s our sister-in-law!" another team mber who was slow to catch on finally snapped back to reality. The sad and disappointed look on his face slowly crumbled away, replaced by an ecstatic joy.
"Goddess Jane is our sister-in-law, yay! Goddess Jane is our sister-in-law, yay!" That team mber, acting like a fool, hugged his teammate next to him and laughed, "We’re so close to a star! I’m so excited, what to do, so excited!"
Team mber A struggled for a long ti before finally mustering up a sentence, "Goddess Jane, you have it tough!"
Jane Sampson couldn’t help but laugh at everyone’s reactions, then nodded and conceded, "It is a bit tough."
Jas Black glanced at Jane Sampson, who promptly reined in her laughter and waved her hand, "Not tough, not tough at all."
In her ears was the sound of Jas Black’s low hum. Jane Sampson turned her head away from Jas Black and slipped her hands into her pockets, gently squeezing the fruits in her pocket.
Humph, wouldn’t even let her speak the truth.
She still had that 1,000-word self-criticism report over there, how could it not be tough?
"What are you all still doing here? Not planning to rest tonight?" Jas Black’s patience finally wore thin, and he asked in a slightly cold tone, "If you can’t sleep, I could give you..."
"No need!" John River quickly interrupted Jas Black, "Chief, sir! We’re leaving now!"
After speaking, John River winked at Jane Sampson and turned tail to run.
Just joking, waiting for the Chief to make arrangents, they wouldn’t get to rest all night!
The man was like a devil; best not to provoke him.
Everyone scattered, and only a few lingered for a while longer until only one young team mber was left. When he was finally alone, he approached Jane Sampson and quietly made a request, "Goddess Jane, may I shake your hand?"
Jane Sampson nodded and answered, "Sure."
