Jane Sampson’s dormitory was abuzz because everyone would be parting ways the next day, so they all exchanged contact information and promised to et up whenever possible.
Mair Williams squeezed onto Jane Sampson’s bed, her face clouded with thoughts, until Jane handed her a lollipop, which she took instinctively.
Only after eating did Mair Williams realize what had happened.
"My goodness! You’re feeding candy! I’m trying to lose weight!" Mair Williams hurriedly took it out.
Jane laughed heartily, "I saw you zoning out, so I just wanted to try it out—I didn’t expect you to actually eat it!"
"One day of dieting won’t make a difference, and since it’s already been eaten, if you dare waste it, do you believe Jane Sampson could gobble you up?" Hibiscus Wood started to indulge herself, stuffing marshmallows into her mouth one after another, "We’ve been here a week, haven’t had any snacks, and now we can’t even have a little candy?"
"That’s true," Mair pondered and put the lollipop back into her mouth turning her head to look at Jane, asking, "Do you think it’s really okay for us to pick on the black-face instructor so much? He’s going to have opened the gift on cara, and the program crew will definitely broadcast it."
Upon hearing Mair’s words, Hibiscus Wood leaned in, teasing the two of them with a snicker, "You two really are birds of a feather, even the gifts you made are the sa; anyone who didn’t know any better would think you planned it."
"I regretted giving it the mont I did and wanted to take it back, but after taking it out, I was afraid the black-face instructor would think I was humiliating him on purpose if I didn’t give it," Mair scratched her forehead, "But then he opened it right there and it seems like the outco is the sa. I’m regretting it to death now. Do you think I should sneak over and apologize to him tomorrow?"
After asking the question, Mair turned to Jane again and said, "It’s a good thing I have you with , otherwise, I’d probably get scolded."
Jane was stunned. While preparing the gift, she genuinely hadn’t considered the possibility of being scolded.
Her approach to making the gift was entirely based on her true feelings; she had no intention to humiliate or bully anyone, so Jane didn’t even think about the possibility of being misunderstood.
It wasn’t until Mair ntioned it, that Jane stood shocked, realizing that their prank might lead to so serious consequences.
"It should be fine," answered Hibiscus Wood, "Tonight we all cried our eyes out; it’s clear to anyone that we’re genuinely sad to part with these instructors, and that we like them. At most, they’ll see it as a joke between you and the instructors. I can’t see it going so far as them scolding you for it."
After offering so comfort to them, Hibiscus Wood couldn’t help but tease them again, "Really, it’s just like you two to do sothing like this."
Shaking her head, Hibiscus Wood lay back on her bed and was the first to wish the three good night.
Feeling relieved after Hibiscus Wood’s words, Jane began to ponder, Jas Black must have seen the gift she prepared for him by now, right?
She wondered what his reaction to the big turtle would be. Annoyed? Furious?
And then, seeing the self-criticism report, he would probably be so angry he’d explode, right?
The more Jane thought about it, the more delighted she beca, and cocooned in her quilt, she couldn’t help but let out a low chuckle, strangely longing to run over to the dormitory area to see his expression at this mont.
