"You don’t need to think about it anymore." Jas Black stood up abruptly, leaving Jane Sampson behind, and then walked straight away.
Watching Jas Black’s clearly irritated back, Jane raised her hand and scratched her head, thinking that recently, Chief Black’s temper had grown~
Is he really that mad?
Could it be his ti of the month? So there are always those few super irritable days in a month.
Jane lingered in the study for a while before she finally left, still mumbling to herself that Jas was probably mad at her and didn’t want to go with her.
Back in the bedroom, Jas had already gone to the bathroom, and the sound of water was pouring out. Jane leaned against the frosted glass of the bathroom, peering in, knowing full well she couldn’t see anything, so she didn’t know what she was trying to look at.
After sticking by the door for a few minutes, Jane puckered her lips and went back to the bed, lying stiff as a board for a while, until Jas ca out of the bathroom. Jane sneaked a glance at him and then quickly averted her gaze.
Whoever speaks first loses.
Jane mumbled to herself, determined not to talk to him first.
And then the next second, Jane heard Jas behind her asking, "What were you sneaking around at the bathroom door for just now?"
Jane almost dropped her mobile phone.
This was even worse than having to back down and start the conversation first!
She’d forgotten that while she couldn’t see anything from the outside, it didn’t an that her shadow couldn’t be seen by Jas inside!
How embarrassing!
Jas wouldn’t think she was peeping at him taking a bath, would he?
"I wasn’t up against the bathroom door," Jane denied weakly, "You make it sound like I’m so kind of voyeur. Is there any part of your body I haven’t seen? If I wanted to look, I’d do it outright, why would I need to sneak around?"
Jas was taken aback. In fact, he hadn’t thought about Jane spying on him; he had only assud she was up to no good, surreptitiously watching to see if he had co out yet.
But to his surprise, Jane was far too obviously nervous, speaking without conviction, and not daring to et his gaze.
Jas curved the corners of his mouth into a smile, then lifted the person lying on the bed with her back to him, reminding her, "Don’t lie face down, you’ll suffocate."
Jane slapped away Jas’s hand, muttering, "I won’t, I’m flat-chested."
"..." His tone carried a certain pride.
Jas left Jane alone, going to dry his hair, while she slowly sat up and, like a ditating monk, crossed her legs and sat on the bed, staring at him the entire ti.
Just out of the bath, Jas was wearing a big vest. He had many of these vests, so much so that Jane wondered if he’d gone out and bought a dozen wholesale.
With his back to her, Jane could see the muscles on his arms as he held the hairdryer.
She mused to herself that no wonder he could lift her so effortlessly every ti, making her feel as light as a chick with no sense of weight in his hands.
After watching Jas for a while, Jane lay back down, ultimately not asking again whether he would go to Smytheton or not. It seed his auntie’s visit was over, but what if she provoked him by asking and summoned his uncle-in-law back out?
Jane lay back down and started playing a standalone ga on her mobile phone. After a few rounds, Jas flipped the quilt open and tucked her in, then sat down next to her.
