Jane Sampson’s tightly closed eyes fluttered slightly.
"It’s fine if you don’t want to open them, just rember what I told you just now." Jas Black didn’t continue to pressure Jane Sampson; he leaned in and gently kissed her on the lips, then moved to her eyelids, dropping a kiss on each side, "Good night."
After saying good night, Jas Black turned off the electric light and went back to where he had been lying just now.
Before he could settle back in, the woman who had been pretending to sleep suddenly moved and got down to ground level.
"Where are you going?" Jas Black imdiately asked, even preparing to follow her.
"I’m thirsty, I’m going downstairs for a cup of water. I’ll co back up after I drink it, don’t follow !" Jane Sampson’s voice sounded a bit panicky as she responded, then she shot out the door and went downstairs.
Once she reached the first floor, Jane Sampson rushed into the kitchen, then closed the kitchen door behind her, leaned against the door panel, and slowly slid down until she was crouched on the ground, hugging her knees.
Jane Sampson didn’t know if Jas Black, with his intelligence, could see through the thoughts at the bottom of her heart. Otherwise, why would he suddenly say those words to her?
If he saw through her, how would he view her?
Would he think she was like a heartless person, a selfish villain?
He said, no matter what, she had him.
At that mont, Jane Sampson really wanted to ask Jas Black if she could take his words seriously.
He had said them so suddenly, so unexpectedly, and she, truly, really wanted to take his words seriously.
Was it possible that if one day she truly had no way out, even if she was right on the edge of a cliff, Jas Black would stand by her side, accompanying her?
Jane Sampson said she was going downstairs to get a drink of water, but she didn’t co back up after going down.
Jas Black waited for approximately half an hour before he lost patience and got up to go down.
The person who said she was going down to drink water hadn’t even turned on the electric light on the first floor.
"Jane Sampson?" Jas Black stood at the staircase entrance and called out her na. When no one answered, he turned on the light and looked around the living room.
Not seeing her, Jas Black saw her shoes were still at the doorway and then turned to go to the kitchen.
As he approached the kitchen door, Jas Black saw that the door was ajar.
Drawing closer, he used his shoulder to try to push the door but couldn’t open it; sothing was blocking it from inside.
Jas Black stopped at the doorway and called out Jane Sampson’s na again, "Jane Sampson, half an hour for a drink of water?"
Jane Sampson, sitting on the ground and hugging her knees, made no sound but slowly raised her head from between her knees and looked toward the door gap from the side.
The electric light outside was on, so she could see Jas Black’s shadow cast in through the crack, falling touchingly close to her.
"Are you sitting on the ground?" Jas Black asked from the doorway after hearing a faint noise inside, feeling reassured that she wasn’t asleep.
But because he couldn’t see Jane Sampson through the crack, he guessed she must be sitting on the ground leaning against the kitchen door.
"No," Jane Sampson answered quickly, her voice very soft, her tone light.
"Lying is not a good habit," Jas Black gently nudged the door with his elbow and urged, "Open the door."
After a few seconds, not seeing the person inside move, Jas Black’s patience was exhausted, "Jane Sampson, don’t force to pay the price with these hands of mine just to hold you."
"I’ll count to three, if you don’t co out, then I’m coming in to hold you out," after saying that, Jas Black imdiately started to count, "One..."
"Hey! You can’t do that!"
Before Jas Black had even finished counting to one, Jane Sampson stood up quickly, pulled open the door and shouted at him, "Who told you to do that? Do you want your hands or not?"
