Jane Sampson stood in the doorway, scratching the back of her head, hesitating. Should she go over and sit with Jas Black, or just head straight back to the bedroom?
Before Jane could make up her mind, Jas over there spoke up first.
His voice was cool as he said, "Co here."
"Oh," Jane opened her mouth and replied, then slowly made her way over.
As soon as she got close to him, Jas reached out, pulling her over to sit by his side. His right hand encircled her waist, his fingers gently pinched the flesh on her waist as if he loved it.
Jane, ticklish, giggled and squird a bit, eventually leaning into Jas’s arms, resting her head against his chest.
Her ear was very close to his heart, and just by resting there, she could feel the sound of his heartbeat.
Thud, thud.
It gradually blended with the sound of her own heartbeat.
Jane quietly squinted her eyes, the corners of her lips slightly lifting.
It was hard to believe that a person like Jas Black would admit he liked her, and even crazily so.
In her past life, they had been married for so long. She always pretended to be obedient to cater to his temperant, but until her death, she never saw any special affection from him for her.
After her rebirth, she stopped pretending, frequently angered him and provoked him, and now he liked her?
Isn’t that a bit strange?
Regardless, Jane couldn’t deny that when she heard Jas say he liked her, her heart felt very happy.
It was like secretly eating a spoonful of honey, sweet enough to nearly overflow.
Jane stealthily looked up at Jas; he always looked serious when watching the news, or rather, Jas seed serious no matter what he was doing.
Whether it was reading a book or even washing clothes, it was the sa.
Viewing him from his arms, she could clearly see each one of his eyelashes.
Jas was handso, sothing Jane had known ever since she started developing her own sense of beauty.
If it wasn’t for his cold deanor, just for his looks, many girls would have chased him around back in the great courtyard.
Yet, unfortunately, the good-looking man has a temperant that keeps people at a thousand miles distance.
After their engagent was set, the young and naive Jane hadn’t thought about getting closer to her fiance.
But unexpectedly, it was such a Jas Black who, in the end, actually ca to like her, Jane Sampson?
Thinking about this, Jane got a feeling as if she were living a sowhat unreal life.
Jane watched Jas for a long ti. Seeing that he showed no reaction as if he hadn’t noticed, her eyes craftily turned, and then, puckering her lips, she thought about sneaking a kiss on him.
To test what reaction Jas, who seed upset and unwilling to bother with her, would have.
Unexpectedly, just as she was leaning in, having not yet touched Jas, he suddenly looked down and, beating her to it, kissed her on the lips.
However, it was just a peck on her lips before he pulled away.
But with just that one kiss, Jane knew that although Jas was angry, he was not terribly so.
There was still room to make an effort.
"Jas..." Jane tugged at his clothes, her voice pleading as she called out to Jas, "Can we talk for a bit?"
"I don’t want to talk to you right now," Jas coldly responded, then shifted his gaze back to the TV.
