On the other side, Gu Anxi and Bo Xichen returned to the Si Garden.
Bo Xichen had been out for more than half a month. After dinner, he chatted with his parents for a long ti. Gu Anxi leaned against him from behind, her chin resting on his shoulder, her head nodding as she gradually dozed off.
Lady Bo laughed, "The little one seems very sleepy. Why don’t you two go to sleep first?"
Gu Anxi shook her head, "I’m fine; I can just lean on him."
Bo Xichen then reached behind him, brought her around to his front, and held her. Gu Anxi blushed a bit, "Uncle Bo!"
He laughed and held her, while continuing to talk with his parents.
Bo Nianyao started to discuss important matters, causing Lady Bo’s eyelids to droop. She took Gu Anxi away.
The two n chatted until the middle of the night before parting ways.
Bo Xichen returned to the Orchid Room. Gu Anxi was playing gas on the couch. He sat down and stroked her hair, "You’ve worked hard these past few days, my lady."
Gu Anxi stopped her ga and moved to hug him.
She really missed him.
Bo Xichen lowered his head, "Aren’t you going to ask where I went?"
She playfully smiled, "To catch a fugitive?"
He gently smacked her, "Naughty."
Then his voice lowered, "Anxi, I hope I can retire when I’m forty, so I don’t have to go out anymore."
When he joined the Falcon Team at twenty, he had never thought about retirent. Peace and justice... those were what he needed to uphold, his lifelong duty. But now that he had Anxi, he felt he needed to cultivate his successor. After forty, they wouldn’t need to part; she wouldn’t have to worry!
Hearing his words, Gu Anxi hugged his waist tightly and said softly, "I know! Whatever you want to do, just do it. I’ll take care of things at ho."
Bo Xichen felt a tender warmth in his heart. He held her, and they talked intermittently.

「The next day,」 since Bo Xichen had returned, Gu Anxi didn’t need to go to the hospital. She thought for a mont and decided to visit Old Wang at Jiang Hospital first, before heading to Beicheng University.

Gu Mingzhu had actually co to visit Old Wang. Gu Anxi didn’t know how she had managed to get past the layers of security to this VIP floor, but there she was, chatting with the old lady.
She spoke softly, presenting a well-behaved and demure appearance.
Gu Anxi grinned and walked in.
The old lady didn’t expose their identities, saying, "Doctor Gu, you’re here?"
Upon hearing this, Old Wang’s eyes widened in a daze, and his breathing grew very light.
Gu Anxi took her stethoscope and went to examine him. Since they were familiar and their relationship had evolved, she sat on the edge of Old Wang’s bed. She teased him occasionally, as if coaxing a child.
Old Wang, looking as if he were about to erupt, huffed indignantly and ignored Doctor Gu.
The old lady paid it no mind. That old grumbler (Old Wang) was actually enjoying it, wishing Anxi would co and tease him morning and night—he was just like her own exasperating son in that regard. Thankfully, Jingyao had kept his word and wasn’t pestering Anxi much anymore.
The old lady ignored Gu Mingzhu’s implicit criticism. Gu Mingzhu, however, found Gu Anxi’s behavior improper and whispered, "Is this how Doctor Gu treats her patients?"
How much has the old lady experienced? How could she not discern the aning behind this young girl’s words?
So, not particularly pleased by Gu Mingzhu’s comnt, she rely gave a faint smile and picked up a book to read. Gu Mingzhu, misinterpreting this as anger and dissatisfaction directed at Gu Anxi, smiled faintly herself and said, "Then I’ll co again tomorrow!"
The old lady politely replied, "The Old Master is not well; it’s better not to trouble you to co every day."
It was clear to her that this young woman kept coming to the hospital, probably for Jingyao. Truth be told, the young lady was quite good-looking and reportedly talented, but her disposition... seed sowhat lacking. No wonder Jingyao hadn’t taken a liking to her, nor had he ever ntioned her. And now, she had even chased him all the way to the hospital.
At this point, most people would have taken the hint, but Gu Mingzhu still believed the old lady was angry with Gu Anxi. So, she persisted, speaking softly, "I’ll be very quiet when I co."
The old lady took another look at the young woman and found herself disliking her even more.
Without making a sound, she silently refused.
But Gu Mingzhu was full of confidence, believing she was well-regarded by both King Jingyao and the old lady, so she brazenly stayed.
anwhile, Gu Anxi and Old Wang bantered back and forth. Old Wang seed utterly satisfied and obediently lay down to rest.
Gu Anxi turned back towards the old lady, "I will co again in the evening. His condition should be stable. Dr. Hao is here, so you can rest assured."
The old lady nodded indifferently.
This indifference made Gu Mingzhu even more convinced that Gu Anxi was not in the old lady’s good graces. She smirked and left when Gu Anxi did, even running into her in the elevator.
Gu Anxi had no intention of talking to her and swiped through her phone instead.
Gu Mingzhu smiled faintly, "Gu Anxi, I heard the Wang Family liked you, but it doesn’t seem that way now."
Gu Anxi smirked, "Is that so?"
Gu Mingzhu’s lips lifted slightly, "Mr. Wang has agreed to attend my birthday party."
Gu Anxi lowered her eyes, "Congratulations!"
Gu Anxi’s effortless deflection of the topic clearly annoyed Gu Mingzhu, who grew irritated. "Gu Anxi, I will surely marry better than you."
"Congratulations in advance then." Gu Anxi pondered for a mont. "Are you marrying Uncle Wang? Then I would have to call you Aunt Wang. So young, why are you so set on such a path?"
Gu Mingzhu was practically exploding with rage. Uncle Wang? Aunt Wang?
She harbored fond feelings for that distinguished gentleman and naturally felt indignant. "Gu Anxi, just because he doesn’t like you doesn’t an you can speak about him like this."
Coincidentally, the elevator doors opened. King Jingyao and his secretary happened to walk in, witnessing Gu Mingzhu’s emotional display.
For Gu Mingzhu, this unexpected encounter was a pleasant surprise, but she bit her lip and did not make a sound.
King Jingyao knew very well her current state must be because of that little rogue’s antics. She truly knew how to create a fuss!
Therefore, he purposely asked in a gentle tone, "Miss Gu, what’s wrong?"
Gu Mingzhu bit her lip and whispered, "We had a little argunt, but it’s nothing major."
King Jingyao then turned to Gu Anxi, his expression sowhat indifferent, a stark contrast to his earlier gentleness towards Gu Mingzhu.
Gu Anxi remained silent, looking down and swiping her phone.
The secretary cleared his throat, "Doctor Gu, Mr. Wang is asking you sothing."
Gu Anxi gave a long "Oh," as if suddenly rembering sothing. Then she smiled and said, "I just said that Mr. Wang is Uncle Wang, so his future wife would be Aunt Wang. Miss Gu got upset by this. I really don’t know how that offended her; I didn’t even say *she* was Aunt Wang."
King Jingyao sternly glared at her.
The secretary secretly laughed. That must have stung! This Gu Anxi girl is truly sharp and observant; she saw right through Gu Mingzhu’s intentions. Actually, there were countless scheming won with devious plans like Gu Mingzhu, and many who had tried to curry favor with the old lady, but Mr. Wang never gave them a second thought.
