Zhou Yu still looked at him, unable to react.

Then, the soft sound of footsteps followed. She was really leaving.

Zhou Yu’s hand was already on the doorknob; she turned her head at his words.
Min Xin’s Adam’s apple bobbed unconsciously. He wanted to ask if she had taken any dication, considering what happened last night...
But then he thought, she’s grown up now, no longer a naive young girl. She should understand these things.
But Zhou Yu... it wasn’t that she didn’t understand, but rather that it hadn’t occurred to her.
For years, Min Xin had been so ticulously protective that she never had to worry about such things. Consequently, she simply didn’t think of them. When he hesitated to speak, she assud he was about to go back on his word and quickly said, "Don’t worry, I won’t make exorbitant demands. I’ll take whatever you give ."
The Zhou Yu of the past might have arrogantly refused anything. But Anxi had told her that soone like her needed a lot of money to maintain her lifestyle... and she felt Anxi was right.
At her words, Min Xin’s face darkened. He closed his eyes and said in a rather harsh tone, "Understood!"
Zhou Yu found him quite difficult to please. She pursed her lips, opened the door, and left.
Min Xin was still agonizing. She should know to take dication, shouldn’t she? She’s old enough to understand contraception, isn’t she? He wanted to ask again but couldn’t bring himself to say the words.
Outside, Zhou Yu looked at Gu Anxi. "He said I could go."
Gu Anxi smiled and put an arm around her. "Then why the long face? Cheer up, we’re going team-building."

Zhou Yu turned her face away. "I don’t want him to chase . And he’s not my man."
"Then that settles it! Let’s go, team-building. I have quite a few excellent n I can introduce you to." Gu Anxi pulled her away.
In the hallway, Min Xin’s n, including his secretary, were still present.
The secretary swallowed hard, went into the room, and stamred, "Little Gu is planning a team-building activity. She’s also planning to introduce the Madam to her next man!"
Min Xin, enduring the pain in his shoulder, said in a heavy voice, "I’m not dead yet!"
The secretary didn’t dare make a sound.
Just then, a noise ca from the doorway. Min Xin opened his eyes. "Go see who it is."
The secretary went imdiately. When he returned, he wasn’t alone; there were two other n with him: King Jingyao and Secretary Wang Jingchuan.
Wang Jingchuan was holding a bouquet of lilies.

Wang Jingchuan, suppressing a smile, took the flowers out.
His old brother approached and theatrically grasped Min Xin’s hand. "My dear brother, this must have been quite an ordeal for you."
Min Xin was in pain, but he couldn’t very well refuse his superior’s show of concern. He forced a smile and said, "It’s alright, it’s alright."
King Jingyao stood up and paced back and forth a few tis. Then, with a grand sweep of his hand, he declared, "Rest assured! I will thoroughly investigate this matter. I’ll be sure to drag out the mastermind behind this and give them a sound thrashing to let you vent your anger!"
Min Xin’s expression beca even more unreadable—
Drag out Dark to stab himself? He had to be kidding!
