Laz felt like sothing was wrong. He was firing away, taking shot after shot and mowing down tons of these deranged animals, but his body was telling him this was wrong and he didn’t know why.

While maintaining concentration, Laz tried to place the feeling. To do so, Laz let his control of his body slip slightly during a lull in the attack and just tried to feel what was coming natural. And to his surprise, it felt like he wanted to charge forward and rip these creatures apart by hand.

’That would just be... gross?’ Laz didn’t know how his brain thought about it, but his instincts were telling him he would enjoy it.

It really was a strange feeling to have your body fighting your head.

Laz then snapped back to it to focus when the tide erupted once again.

All over the club, there were buildings just like the one Laz was fighting in that had resisted the first wave. But during this second attack, more and more buildings were being overrun with the survivors being forced into the shelter basents.

In one such basent, Mike, Warren, Stevo and Jason were all sitting around while nervously watching the door. Mike, Stevo and Jason had wanted to crash another band night and had gone to pester Warren when the attack ca. While the security force had tried their best, five out of the nine mbers had died during the first wave when the doors were breached and it was only thanks to so ergency blast doors that anyone else in the building even had ti to make it to the basent. Of the four remaining mbers, one was badly bleeding from wounds all over his body and another one had already passed out from blood loss. There was no amount of first aid that could have treated her injuries.

Due to this, the two remaining mbers who could fight had passed out rifles to any staff or guests who were willing to fight. And since this was Texas, the number of those willing was huge.

The only problem now was whether that would even make a difference.

Currently, the reinforced blast door was being pounded on by beasts outside. Every ti sothing hit it, the door and even the walls would shake. It was amazing it had held up this long.

"How long do you think the door will last?" Tia asked, obviously frightened. She, Mila, Rain and their manager had been enjoying an expensive dinner when they got caught up in this. As they fled to the basent, they had t up with Stevo, Mike and Jason and rembered them from the other night. During normal tis, their manager would have never let the girls interact with the older guys, but this was hardly a normal ti.

"No idea. But from what I rember hearing about, these doors are top of the line so it shouldn’t be a problem right away," Mike said, trying to reassure the shaking girl.

Mike and Stevo had grabbed a rifle each while the girls manager had one as well. The girls, Jason and Warren had declined based on the fact that their were only so many and they had never fired one before anyway.

"That’s not the problem," the manager said. The strict looking woman couldn’t help but frown while looking at the door.

"What do you an?" Stevo asked.

"The door might hold out. But whatever idiot installed it didn’t properly reinforce the wall itself. Which ans that before the door itself breaks, the wall that it’s bolted to is going to break apart like a cracked egg." Her tone was stern and her eyes were focused. The girls had seen this side of her in the past, but only when she was dealing with difficult negotiations. It was her do or die look and she never lost a battle when she wore it.

"Wow. And you know this how?" Mike asked, wondering if she had any clue to base this on.

"Because I served six years as a combat engineer before I left that to manage ’difficult’ talent." Her actual na was Mary May, a na that had haunted her her entire life. After all, it had been referred to as a stripper na more than once. Therefore, she had no choice but to shut people up by being better than them at what she did. She did it in school, in the army and now, in the world of show business. While Cherry Bomb may have been her first group, she had proven herself more than capable of making them huge.

"So that ans they could get in at any ti?" Mila asked. Although her voice was steady, her hands shaking revealed her nervousness. When Lyssa wasn’t around. Mila was the girls leader.

"Even if they do, they will be blown away... right?" asked Rain as she looked around at everyone who had a gun pointed at the door.

Manager May was about to respond, but a look from Mike caused her to stop. Mike and Stevo had both grown up in Texas and although they didn’t join the military, they had more experience then many when it ca to guns and hunting. The current problem was that while they could open fire on the ones that charged in first, the front would be torn up but every demon beast behind them would be fine and free to hunt. And once they started mixing into the crowd, people would end up shooting each other despite the size of the room.

"What are your thoughts?" Mike asked, seeing her expression go from worried to thoughtful to angry and back again.

"I tried telling them we needed a circle barrier around the entrance to block anything coming in, or at least divert it. But no one here with a dick wants to listen to . Instead, they just tell to sit back and let them mow down so critters... fucking morons thinking they know about tactical sieges from watching god damn tv shows.

"Alright. Explain what you’re thinking..." Stevo said, having the sa idea as Mike. If these idiots wouldn’t listen to a combat engineer cause she didn’t have a dick. they would go over there and wave their dicks around until they got what she wanted.

Manager May understood quickly and laid it out to the two young n.

After a minute or two, they nodded to Manager May, said a few words to Warren and Jason and set off to talk to the two remaining security personal.

"Manager?" Mila, Tia and Rain asked at once, seeing her smile. It wasn’t sothing they had seen often.

"Guess these guys are at least smart enough to listen. Maybe I should really try to date younger instead of going for mature and wealthy..." she mumbled, mostly to herself without realizing it.

The girls couldn’t help but giggle as she turned a shade of red she wasn’t used to.

...

Despite the situation they were in, the guards and Laz continued to hold back the wave of beasts. While the beasts were able to push past the first layer of defense and get into the doors, they never found any purchase and it took a while for the ones behind them to clear the way and get in. Their biggest obstacle ended up being their own bodies blocking the way. That and the help that War gave in secret to them. As she stayed in the side room off from the entrance, when the defenders were forced back, she would take action and kill enough of them to block the entrance. This would then start the cycle over again.

At one point, seeing that they couldn’t find any purchase, sothing caused all the beasts to retreat, leaving the defenders a chance to breath.

"We can’t keep this up. We are running out of ammo. This was never ant to be a prolonged solution," one of the male defenders exclaid as those listening to him nodded their heads. Everyone was feeling nervous while Bruce was considering drawing them back to the basent and closing the door. If they locked themselves behind that blast door, then they wouldn’t be putting themselves in danger to fight. Although Bruce wasn’t a coward, this also wasn’t sothing he signed up for. He was a security guard and not a solder.

War popped her head out and summoned Laz over while everyone else was distracted.

"What’s up?" he asked, seeing her smile. In response, she pointed to a knocked over filing cabinet in which a dark red liquid was filled to the top.

"The fuck?" Laz said, the sll of iron getting stuck in his nose. He knew that she had sohow filled the entire thing with blood.

"I was honestly surprised this thing was liquid proof. I just ripped out the center supports and filled it up. Now get in," War said with a satisfied smile on her face.

"I wasn’t serious..." Laz started, but War quickly cut him off.

"I am. Now get in." She didn’t give him a choice. She quickly disard him, picked him up and lowered him into the gel like liquid. It was clear that the blood was starting to coagulate and was becoming more solid.

As soon as he was covered by the stuff, he felt the fire inside of him growing.

Laz quickly circulated his energy, using the infinity thod he had long forgotten. While it wasn’t as helpful as it used to be, it still got the job done as it was so imprinted on him, that his body did it naturally.

The blood that War had collected was from the strongest beasts attacking. She chose them out and used them for just this reason. While she felt like she might have been a little greedy for wanting the old Laz back, she also knew that if he wanted to survive, this was paramount to doing so.

As War looked on, Laz’s body erupted into black fla while the energy inside of him condensed, forming together while being guided by the golden drop. As the purified energy began circulating inside his system, it also started to repair the damage that had been done over a year ago, including the sealed off mories.

Right now, Laz was going through a rebirth that no one could have expected, including himself. After all, prior to this, a beast wave of this scale wouldn’t have even been considered, much less seen. And the blood would only benefit those like Laz. For a regular human or even one of the chosen, such blood could only be considered poison.

While watching Laz’s progress, War soon felt sothing was wrong. Sothing tickled her brain as he tried to focus. Her spiritual sense truly was her weak point, but one that didn’t matter when she fought since most of the ti she experienced an overwhelming rage that protected her brain from outside effects.

Right now though, she felt a very faint fluctuation that wanted her attention.

That fluctuation also reached Famine and Pestilence. While this might have been War’s weak point, these two sisters were actually rather adapt at it. They quickly figured out it was a ssage being sent from Death.

"Shit. Shit shit shit shit shit..." Famine said stowing everything away. Pestilence wasn’t any better and they quickly ssaged War, knowing she probably didn’t understand.

After hearing what her sister’s said, she had the sa reaction.

Death and Lyssa had been surrounded. Not only that, but the few people that had been friends with Dean were about to be killed as well.

Looking over at her ward, War could only pray he would hurry up while Famine and Pestilence raced to their other sister’s side.
