At the City Police Bureau, when Xia Jing and her friend Xiaoi were taken for questioning, Ye Qiu was alone in Zhao Ruxue’s office.

About half an hour later, Zhao Ruxue returned and sighed, "That Miss Xia’s friend is indeed not a suspect."

Although Xiaoi was the first to discover the caretaker’s body, she rely found it. From the ti Xiaoi entered Xia Jing’s villa to when she left, it took just a few minutes. Moreover, from the surveillance videos, it’s clear that before Xiaoi arrived, the caretaker was already lying on the stairs.

She fell from the stairs and then crawled a few steps before bleeding to death in the hall.

"Judging by the throat-slitting technique, it’s likely the sa perpetrator."

"One slash to the throat?" Ye Qiu asked.

"The knife work suggests so."

Zhao Ruxue couldn’t fathom why these people were so vicious, murdering even a simple caretaker?

"This is all targeted at Xia Jing!"

"Then we’ll have to keep Miss Xia here at the City Police Bureau to ensure her safety," Zhao Ruxue stated directly.

Ye Qiu shook his head, doubting the capabilities of the City Police Bureau officers to protect Xia Jing.

"You lack that ability."

Just as Zhao Ruxue wanted to say sothing, suddenly, Xia Jing realized the terrifying nature of the murders, and up until now, neither she nor her colleagues had discovered the true identity of the killers.

After Xia Jing and Xiaoi completed their questioning, both looked very distressed.

When they ca out and got into Ye Qiu’s car, Ye Qiu said, "Let’s go back first."

Xia Jing had already contacted the caretaker’s family to co to Jinling to handle the matters, knowing compensation would be necessary since it happened in her ho.

Even though the caretaker was murdered, regardless, a life lost is a life lost.

Upon returning to the villa, Ye Weidong’s family and Ye Xue hadn’t co back yet, only Xiaomai was inside. Seeing the three, Xiaomai asked, "Miss Xia, what happened?"

"No, nothing," Xia Jing was afraid of scaring Xiaomai.

Ye Qiu went upstairs alone, returned to his room, and felt that these people were becoming more audacious.

Even though he regarded these people as insignificant as ants, as long as they didn’t provoke him, Ye Qiu had no reason to wait for those people, but the brutality of these killers...

After checking Jinling’s map and the scene of the incident on the computer, Ye Qiu increasingly felt it might be connected to the outskirts.

At around eleven o’clock, after taking a bath, Ye Qiu didn’t cultivate because he had to wake up in the middle of the night.

Close to one a.m., after waking up and getting dressed, Ye Qiu called Xia Jing from the guest room next door. Now Xia Jing and Xiaoi slept in one room, but thinking about the caretaker’s death, couldn’t sleep all night.

Hearing a knock on the door, Xia Jing, with slightly reddened eyes, opened the door and asked, "Ye Qiu, what’s up?"

"Get up, I’m taking you sowhere."

Xia Jing didn’t know where Ye Qiu was taking her but could only get dressed and secretly follow him downstairs, feeling drowsy as he turned on the air conditioning in the car.

When Ye Qiu drove to the suburbs, it was dead quiet.

With the lights off, Xia Jing asked, "Ye Qiu, w-why did you bring here?"

In the dark, Xia Jing couldn’t see outside at all, and Ye Qiu had already brought her here once the previous day, so she was puzzled.

Moreover, she had no mood for anything.

"Co down with , and you’ll know."

Nervously getting out of the car, it was so dark, she almost stepped into nothing and scread, but Ye Qiu covered her mouth.

"Don’t shout."

"I-I’m scared."

Wearing high heels and stepping on the grassy field in the suburb, besides the sound of insects, she couldn’t hear anything else.

It felt eerie and spooky.

Clinging to Ye Qiu’s arm, she followed almost pressed against him, and Ye Qiu glanced back at her without her letting go.

They walked about five hundred ters, under the pitch-black night, without moonlight or a flashlight.

Of course, now that Ye Qiu had cultivated, he was different from ordinary people, being able to see tens of ters away in the dark.

For a normal person in the darkness, visibility might be two to three ters, maybe four to five, but he could see ten tis farther, more clearly.

If she hadn’t been holding Ye Qiu, Xia Jing in high heels would have stumbled countless tis.

When Ye Qiu suddenly stopped, Xia Jing bumped right into him, her face hitting sothing soft.

Not knowing what happened, she imdiately squatted down.

Ye Qiu glanced around and saw three people in the distance.

Among the three, one was an old man in his seventies, another a man in his fifties, and one in his thirties.

They looked similar to two people he’d encountered before, but yet different.

At least, in Ye Qiu’s view, those two died from the cancer cells he released long ago.

How could they be two of these three?

"Ye Qiu, who are they?"

Xia Jing whispered beside him.

Ye Qiu motioned her to cover her mouth, then took out his phone to text Zhao Ruxue.

However, what followed was frightening for both Ye Qiu and Xia Jing. Those three were indeed performing a ritual, with all the necessary ceremonial tools, and they were seemingly offering sothing.

From the items on the table, Ye Qiu felt more certain it was one of those stolen hearts.

In the dead of night, these people were performing a ritual, even if they weren’t the killers; they were highly suspicious.

That’s why he’d ssaged Zhao Ruxue, asking her to bring people quickly.

"Stay here; I’m going over," Ye Qiu said close to Xia Jing’s ear.

"I-I’m scared."

Just as Xia Jing was about to say sothing more, Ye Qiu already got up.

He approached the three, who hadn’t expected a young man to suddenly appear.

"Who are you?" The old man asked first.

"Who am I? I’ve been looking for you for a long ti; you’ve been stealing hearts, it must be you," Ye Qiu replied coldly.

The three exchanged glances, initially fearful but then realized three of them should handle one young man easily.

"Kid, no matter who you are, you dared to co to us. We’ll offer your heart to the Lord of Demons!"

"Aren’t you after the heart of a Woman of Pure Yin and a Man of Pure Yang?"

"You can tell even that; it seems you’re not ordinary, but now that you’ve uncovered us, you won’t be leaving."
