A sleek, small boat materialized out of the void at Fang Yuan’s wave, settling silently on the blood-slick floor.

Fang i stepped forward and bowed, face composed and polite.

"Master," she said.

Fang Yuan gave a brief, acknowledging nod.

"Sorry to trouble you again," he said. "I have another task."

Fang i’s smile stayed steady. "It’s nothing, Master. I’ve already rested. What do you need?"

He flipped the spatial ring from Yuan Sheng between his fingers and tossed it to her. It spun lazily in the air before she caught it.

"I overrode the owner mark," Fang Yuan explained as if ntioning the weather.

"It’s essentially ownerless now. There’s a token inside, check the clan treasury for . See what they’ve been hiding while I go and take care of Feng Lishen."

Fang i tilted her head, curiosity flickering behind her composure. "Master, I thought you wanted him to grow stronger. I assud you wanted to fight Feng Lishen and relieve your stress."

Fang Yuan’s smile brightened with an odd, almost fond amusent.

"You are absolutely right. I wanted him to grow and face him properly." He paused, eyes narrowing at nothing and everything. "But I just felt soone slip through the barrier. What if he had left unnoticed by instead? An I not raising an enemy at this rate? My arrogance will be the downfall of . We can’t let anyone from the Feng Clan get away. What if Lishen consus them all and becos unexpectedly stronger than ? I won’t leave that to chance."

He shrugged, voice suddenly low and practical. "I’ll end him with a sneak attack now, let’s forget pride."

Fang i’s surprise was plain, she had not heard her master speak so much in a long while.

He gave a quick, almost sheepish chuckle at her expression and, with the sa casual motion that had summoned the boat, vanished into the void.

Fang Yuan arrived above the hall like a shadow slipping into light.

Below him, Feng Lishen took his ti, with the torturing of a mother and her child.

"Feng Rin," Lishen murmured, voice muddy with bloodlust, "this never would have happened if you’d only said yes when I asked for your hand."

"Lishen! Stop this madness! Do you know what you’re doing?!" the woman scread, her voice cracking as she watched her child cradled in the beast’s claws.

Fang Yuan watched quietly. The woman was ethereal, delicate in a way that probably also explained Lishen’s obsession with her.

No wonder he coveted her, even now, despite her having a son who was literally of the sa generation as him.

A humorless smile tugged at Fang Yuan’s lips. "This fellow sure has quite the taste for milf," he muttered, then vanished.

In an instant he reappeared beside Feng Lishen, blade flashing.

Without hesitation he drove the Tyrant Light Sword toward Lishen’s chest, aiming straight for the heart.

Lishen reacted with animal speed. He spat the child aside like an inconvenient toy and leapt away, the sword grazing past as he twisted out of reach.

Fang Yuan blinked, surprised by the patriarch’s nimbleness despite his berserk state.

Lishen laughed, a ragged, feral sound.

"Ha! So you, too, are captivated by that bitch! So blinded you’d break your own word."

He bared his teeth. "Well, it doesn’t matter. I’ve devoured enough already. You can’t kill now. Die! Both of you, die!"

He charged, a crimson blur of wings and claws.

Fang Yuan’s eyes never left him.

He moved like water with the swift-step footwork, dodging the sweeping talons and snapping bites that aid to tear him open.

Fang Yuan’s blade blurred, a single precise arc of steel.

Shhhh, crack!

Flesh and bone split and a massive limb spun free, severed cleanly at the joint.

But before it could even fall, the limb pulsed, veins glowing a furious crimson then BOOM! It erupted midair, spraying gore and blood mist across the battlefield.

The shockwave rippled outward, tearing deep scars into the stone and shattering what remained of the walls.

When the haze cleared, Fang Yuan was still standing. Golden radiance wrapped him in an unbroken shell, his armor humming with divine resonance.

The echoes of the explosion rang against it like a drum, unable to breach through.

Inside, Fang Yuan smiled. His eyes glinted with amusent as he suddenly broke into a charge.

The ground caved beneath his foot and his figure shot forward like a golden cot.

Feng Lishen’s gut twisted. That smile, it felt wrong, dangerous wrong yet he couldn’t really put a feel to place.

In that instant his berserk mind refused hesitation.

With a roar, he t Fang Yuan head-on, claws lashing in a frenzy.

Steel t flesh again and again. Each swing of Fang Yuan’s sword carved through him, another arm, another wing, another leg sheared away in arcs of blood.

Yet each ti, the limbs surged back, reford in grotesque displays of muscle and bone snapping into place.

"I’ve devoured enough spiritual qi to regenerate forever, Fang Yuan!"

Feng Lishen bellowed, voice cracking with rage and desperation. "It was your mistake to let grow stronger!"

Fang Yuan simply smirked in response. His steps slowed, deliberate, as though humoring a child’s tantrum.

His sword lifted lazily while his lips curved upward.

"Forever, you say?" he murmured.

That smile deepened as Feng Lishen’s body swelled grotesquely.

Every severed limb, every piece of flesh littering the ground, suddenly pulsed with a crimson glow.

Then—

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Dozens of bloody explosions erupted in unison, converging toward Fang Yuan in a storm of flesh and shockwaves.

Yet just as the storm reached him, his voice rang clear, calm, unhurried:

"Golden Shell Armor, First Form: Cowardice."

The storm of detonations engulfed Fang Yuan.

For a breath, the battlefield was nothing but blood mist, fire, and collapsing stone.

Fang Yuan’s voice cut through the chaos, calm and mocking:

"Golden Shell Armor... Third Form: Audacity."

The golden shell convulsed and then spat it back out with rciless precision.

The damage Fang Yuan had endured was nothing but a mirror.

Tripled and magnified into a counterattack.

Feng Lishen’s body jerked midair. His chest caved inward, ribs snapping like twigs.

Blood sprayed from his mouth as his wings tore open, shredded from within.

Before he could straightened his step, another wave slamd through him, snapping his left arm backward.

Flesh and bone burst as if crushed by an unseen hamr.

A third wave hit as the final rebound hit his core, his dantian flaring in agony as if it were being split apart.

He let out a ragged scream, clawing at the air, blood fountaining from every orifice.

He staggered, wings faltering, his berserk form trembling as though barely held together by will alone.

Fang Yuan stepped out from the radiant shell, untouched, his sword lazily dragging a golden arc through the air.

His lips curled into that sa unnerving smile.

"Do you have any last words?" Fang Yuan asked, his tone almost conversational.

Feng Lishen’s chest heaved, blood bubbling at his lips.

His laugh ca broken, ragged, half man, half beast. "Hah... are you going to fulfill it?"

Fang Yuan’s smile deepened, eyes like cold steel. "Absolutely not. We both know that."

For the first ti, the two n shared sothing almost human, a dark, knowing amusent.

Feng Lishen laughed again, hoarse and wild, a death rattle wrapped in defiance.

The sound faded as Fang Yuan raised his sword. His voice was quiet, but every syllable was heavy as a verdict.

"You shouldn’t have coveted what wasn’t yours. The Fang clan... is not one to be trifled with."

The blade descended, golden light splitting the air.

Blood sprayed in a perfect arc. Feng Lishen staggered, wings twitching, then sank to his knees.

With the last shreds of his will, he forced his mouth to move. His voice was little more than a rasp:

"Take care... of Feng Rin..."

And then his body gave way, collapsing under its own ruined weight, blood mist curling upward as silence claid him.

Fang Yuan looked down at Feng Lishen’s lifeless body, the final plea still lingering in the air.

Instead of answering, he simply smiled.

His gaze shifted, settling on Feng Rin.

She was frozen, clutching her trembling child, her eyes wide with terror and disbelief.

For a heartbeat, silence stretched between them. Then Fang Yuan’s sword lifted and with one clean stroke, golden light carved through the air.

Feng Rin’s scream died in her throat as her body fell in two, blood spilling onto the stone floor in a spreading crimson fan.

The child never even had ti to cry before the sa stroke silenced him forever.

Fang Yuan exhaled slowly, almost peacefully, lowering his sword.

"Kindness sotis bites back," he murmured, his smile never fading.

He turned away without another glance, stepping over the fresh corpses as though they were nothing more than broken furniture in his path.

The Fang clan’s enemies would not be allowed the luxury of survivors.
