Capítulo 1311: Chapter 849: Twin Disciples (Part 2)

Yang Zhenshan didn’t expect that they had already read so much, but thinking about it, it made sense. The Li family had a long tradition of scholarship, and the children started learning at a very young age.

However, what the Li family taught were Confucian classics, which were not of much help for cultivation.

“Hmm, it seems you already know how to read, so you can read fewer books!” Yang Zhenshan said with a smile.

In the Spirit Source Land, there were also entry-level reading materials, similar to what the little girl ntioned, but these were only used to teach children to recognize characters.

Once the children learned to read, the Spirit Source Land would begin to impart knowledge related to cultivation, such as ridians, acupuncture points, the structure of the human body, the operation of cultivation techniques, and various cultivation common sense.

By the ti they reached middle school, they’d be taught the basics of Rune Secret Skills, Spirit Plant recognition, Mutant Beast taming, Alchemy, and Artifact Refining.

When they could begin Martial Arts cultivation, usually after they turned fifteen, they would be allowed to choose one Martial Arts among many.

Now the education in the Spirit Source Land has ford a system and has beco widespread, and even the teaching materials have been revised many tis.

The two little girls, although possessing spiritual apertures, received the sa basic education as the Martial Artists, with only a difference in cultivation thods.

Of course, they didn’t need to attend school classes. On the Spiritual Spring Mountain Plateau, there were dedicated teachers to guide them, naly Red Cloud and Qingxia.

After chatting with the little girls for a while, Yang Zhenshan finally distinguished between the two disciples.

The one always asking questions was the elder sister, Li Janning, and the quieter one was the younger sister, Li Jian’an.

The two little girls looked identical but had markedly different personalities. Li Janning was more lively, always curious about everything like she had thousands of questions in her mind. Li Jian’an was relatively quiet, standing beside Li Janning and never asking a single question, as if all her questions were already asked by Li Janning.

In the Da’an Dynasty, the Li family of Fuhai was a prominent clan, but Li Janning and Li Jian’an’s grandfather, Li Changcun, was just a concubine’s son who had parted ways with the Li family decades ago.

Li Changcun had only one son, Li Zhenghua, the father of Li Janning and Li Jian’an. However, Li Janning and Li Jian’an also had three older brothers, and along with their two sisters-in-law and a nephew, they made a family of twelve.

In Ferry Town, a black awning boat was docked at the quay, and Li Changcun disembarked with his large family.

“Changcun, this is the place!” Yang Chengyi also jumped off the boat, looking at the quaint little town, smiling.

This Ferry Town was only thirty li from Longevity City. One could take a boat directly to Longevity City or reach the Clan Hall directly.

Though the population of the Spirit Source Land was only in the tens of thousands, the villages and towns along the river stretched out more than a hundred li south of Longevity City, with the farthest village being in the newly expanded territory from Yang Zhenshan’s Foundation Establishnt period.

Generally, towns like Ferry Town wouldn’t accept new residents, because the locals had lived there for decades, and the houses and land were owned.

The Li family, however, had good luck. Recently, many houses and plots of land had beco available in Ferry Town, including a very nice courtyard.

Yang Chengyi led the Li family to a two-entry courtyard at the town.

“This will be your ho from now on, along with those two small courtyards over there!” Yang Chengyi pointed to a small courtyard diagonally across.

Due to the enforced family separation policy in the Spirit Source Land, there weren’t very large courtyards. The largest ones were only three-entry courtyards, reserved for the elders of the Clan Council.

The Li family, with twelve people, had to separate according to the rules of the Spirit Source Land once the males established families, so Yang Chengyi arranged three courtyards for them.

This two-entry courtyard was one of the best in Ferry Town.

The Li family entered the courtyard and, surveying the surroundings, didn’t show much reaction.

The small courtyard was beautifully arranged, with three main rooms, four side rooms, as well as four inverted rooms in the front yard, a stable, a woodshed, a kitchen, etc. Six fruit trees were planted in the yard, and it was the height of sumr, the right ti for the trees to be flourishing.

“How do you find it here? If there’s anything you’re not satisfied with, let know, and I can have soone remodel it for you!” Yang Chengyi said with a smile.

Li Changcun replied politely, “Master Yang is joking, we’re quite happy with it here.”

“That’s good then. In a couple of days, officials from the governnt office will allocate land to you, two mu each, along with livestock, tools, and seeds. If you face any difficulties, you can seek help from the governnt office! Rest assured, here, the governnt officials wouldn’t dare bully you!”

“For any need you might have, feel free to approach them directly!”

Yang Chengyi said.

“Alright, this old man understands. If there’s any difficulty, I will surely ask the officials in the governnt office for help!” Li Changcun replied.

Yang Chengyi looked at the Li family, thinking they should tidy up their new ho, and said his goodbyes, “If there’s nothing else, I’ll be leaving first. In three days, I’ll co back to take Janning and Jian’an to the Clan Hall, where they’ll be assigned two attendants.”

With that, he left the Li family.

After he left, the Li family mbers looked at each other.

“Dad, isn’t this place too simple!” Li Zhenghua looked at the slightly narrow courtyard, dissatisfied.

Though the Old Li family had broken away from the main house, they ca from a distinguished noble family and had lived a life of wealth and grandeur.

But now?

They were living in such a cramped courtyard, with no servants, and were expected to farm.

“Look at this, not a single servant, are we supposed to cook for ourselves?”

“And the land, Dad, I am at least a scholar, I can’t be expected to farm!”

“I said before, we shouldn’t have co here, it should be just Janning and Jian’an. We would be better off staying in Da’an!”

“The court said, if we stayed in Da’an, at the very least, we’d be granted the title of a first-rank Earl!”

“Dad, why did you bring everyone here, what’s good about this place!”

Li Zhenghua complained incessantly.

He wasn’t entirely wrong, they were just ordinary people here. Even with whatever benefits they might get from Li Janning and Li Jian’an’s status, they had no special privileges.

If they had stayed in the Da’an Dynasty, the court would have bestowed upon them titles, granted them gold and silver, and perhaps even governnt residences and positions.

As the saying goes, when one person attains the Tao, even their chickens and dogs rise to heaven. With Li Janning and Li Jian’an accepted as disciples by Yang Zhenshan, the Li family would naturally ascend to nobility in the Da’an Dynasty.

“Shut up!” Li Changcun glared at Li Zhenghua, saying, “Mind your words and don’t speak nonsense outside!”

“Dad!”

Li Zhenghua wanted to say more but was silenced by Li Changcun’s glare.

Seeing him dare not speak further, Li Changcun shifted his gaze to his eldest grandson, Li Yunxiao.

He had given up on expecting anything from his son, who was idle, indulgent, and incapable of achieving anything. Fortunately, his grandchildren were quite promising.

“Yunxiao, what do you think?”

Li Yunxiao, in his early twenties, looked resolute and had none of the frailty typical of scholars, instead looking sowhat like a Martial Artist.

In fact, Li Yunxiao was a Martial Artist himself, though his cultivation was poor, as he was over twenty and hadn’t reached the innate level.

“Grandfather, this place is great!”

“The rumors were true; behind the Divine Wood Sect, there’s indeed a Martial Arts Holy Land, and this is the Martial Arts Holy Land!”

Li Yunxiao’s eyes shone brightly, his face filled with unconcealed excitent.

Nowadays, in the Da’an Dynasty, the Liaodong Yang family had beco history. People only knew of the royal Yang family and were unaware of the once-existent Liaodong Yang family, and even fewer knew of Yang Zhenshan’s existence.

The cultivation of the Green Wood Skill and gathering Spiritual Acupoints were carried out under the guise of recruiting disciples for the Divine Wood Sect, orchestrated by the court.
