After several days of preparation, the fleet began moving towards Jachin Due.
Marcus briefed the fleet on how they would attack. It was like a well-oiled machine as he was basically micro-managing the fleet. He felt like he was back in the old days, when he was waging war against his father.
Well, this ti around, his son will do the sa, so it feels quite ritualistic.
"Are you… excited?" Lacus looked at her husband.
"In a way, I am. Though I know that Kira won't have an army to oppose … So I am a bit dissapointed.
But one can't stop hoping." He explained to her as he looked forward and saw the ZAFT fleet lined up with Jachin Due behind it.
"The entire asteroid is hollowed out and turned into a base… just like Boaz. They have quite a huge amount of defensive turrets." One of the officers explained to Marcus.
"It's fine. Leave those to . Testant and I will deal with it." The disguised Emperor explained, then looked at Lacus.
"You do what you do the best. I leave the sniper squad to you, and the elites to Mu with Cagalli."
"Sure. Leave it to ." The pinkette nodded at him.
With that said, Marcus began to walk towards the exit of the bridge and towards the locker room.
~~~
As the Earth Alliance fleet approached, the ZAFT fleet was baffled by their numbers and gulped nervously.
In the PLANTs… the situation… it was pure and utter panic!
Boaz's crushing loss caused everyone to panic, since it wasn't supposed to be that bad, but they were following Patrick Zala's plan. Trying to capture one of Anaheim seems to have worked, but then so deserters took him away and disappeared!
That made Boaz's defeat basically pointless!
"Damn-damn-damn!" Items flew off the table of Patrick Zala's office as the man raged at the utter disaster that was his leadership so far!
But then there was an urgent knock on the door.
"Sir! Chairman!"
"WHAT!?"
"It's urgent! Jachin Due! Alliance fleet has arrived, and their numbers are above sixty warships!"
Patrick Zala's face sank when he heard that. That's nearly three tis as many ships as they have.
"And Genesis?"
"That's the thing sir…focusing lense… calibration…" The soldier began to tell what still needs to be finished.
"...ENOUGH… Tell everyone… It's ti for the last stand." Patrick walked over, his hands behind his back.
"...But Marcus Anaheim… he demanded—"
The Supre Council Chairman slamd his hand into the wall.
"SHUT UP! There won't be any surrender! It's a ruse for us to lower our guard." The Chairman barked at the speechless officer.
~~~
Sure enough, a swarm of missiles rushed towards the Earth Alliance fleet.
This ti around, the navy was even more prepared, as smaller Drake-class ships moved forward and began taking out the missiles with anti-missile guns.
"...They really don't like our General." Captain Ramius mumbled under her breath each ti Marcus demanded sothing; ZAFT replied with long-range missiles…
"It's a strategic manoeuvre." Natarle Badgiruel said with a frown.
"Since ancient tis, there used to be parley before engagent, and that is what our General is doing. Yet, all he is getting is an unhinged response from his opposition.
It basically gives him a sense of moral superiority and boosts our morale. It's like a calm warrior against a rabid beast." The woman tried to explain to the bridge's officers.
"Well said, Lieutenant." Marcus face popped up on the bridge's screen as he was already dressed in his pilot uniform and inside his Gundam.
"I will launch first, after follow with Strike Daggers and then 105s, followed by snipers, then begin a slow approach to pressure the enemy to go all out.
Once their fleet is gone, we will advance towards PLANTs." He explained to them as he fixed his gloves.
"Understood, Sir!" The Captain and Lieutenant saluted as he ended the call.
"...So… here we are…" Captain Ramius mumbled under her breath, though all of the bridge heard her.
"Indeed, let's finish this, Captain." The Lieutenant comnted, and sure enough, Marcus launched with the first wave of Strike Daggers, followed by 105s and other Gundam pilots.
~~~
Marcus smiled as his Gundam pulled out his blade and the wings ignited before leaving a trail of afterimages and slicing through several GINNs, GCUE and the new GuAIZ.
He was decimating the defensive fleet on his own.
'Co now, Kira. Show yourself, my dear son. Honestly, if you wait any longer, I will crush PLANTs. It won't be that great for the season finale.' He chuckled to himself as his Testant pulled out another Katana and began dual-wielding
This ti around, he included spins that his machine would do when slashing swiftly, passing the mobile suits and approaching the Asteroid Base.
The Gundam then got extrely close to the asteroid to use it as cover, rendering the defensive guns unable to fire because it was in their blind spot.
Then he began to slice the guns off and basically disable the base.
Marcus was not the only one utterly crushing the ZAFT forces, as Mu, Cagalli, and Lacus were shredding through their ranks.
The thing was, ZAFT were losing the battle of adaptation. Marcus abused the capabilities of Strike and its packages, banking on the array of weaponry they could wield.
ZAFT only started using these in their 2nd war. So the Disguised Emperor is abusing their capabilities as much as he could with the 105s models.
Snipers, artillery, heavy beam rifles, anti-ship combat. All of these are destroying ZAFT as their new models can't keep up with the sheer battlefield diversity, as Strike Daggers are getting in their way and causing massive casualties to the Coordinator's war effort.
Unlike the Earth Alliance, which has hundreds of millions of available manpower, ZAFT has only a few million from which to draft its soldiers.
But it's the worst when one of their ships goes down, as it makes hundreds of soldiers perish, and it's happening at an absurd pace.
Simply because of the combat model that they are employing. Once the front line crumbles, the warships ant to support mobile suits beco vulnerable to other mobile suits.
And that is where 105s co into play. Long-range snipping, anti-ship weapons in the form of positron cannons and beam swords, slice through Laurasia and Nazca with little to no effort.
But then…
A pink warship and a Nazca-class destroyer, accompanied by two Laurasia-class frigates, arrived on the battlefield.
~~~
"What on Earth…" Captain Ramius was confused to see a new, unknown warship join the battlefield.
'What could these four ships do?'
So far, they haven't lost a single ship, thanks to beam reflection and barrier technology that the Earth Alliance is employing en masse on the warships.
"Earth Alliance—"
"It's on an open channel… she is talking to everyone." The comms officer was speechless.
"Please cease all of the hostilities—"
Marcus looked at the little Lacus with a raised eyebrow.
"Genetics. Honestly."
"Are you implying sothing?" The mature Lacus replied with narrowed eyes.
"Not at all. It's cute that she thinks this could work at such a specific ti." The disguised Emperor shook his head as he was not going there. Teasing his favourite wife is not good for his health.
"Sir—"
"Ignore the little Lacus and continue. There are only 11 ships left, not counting these newcors." Marcus swiftly issued his orders.
"Sir, yes, sir!"
The attack continued, and soon enough, he got contacted by the pink warship.
"Marcus Anaheim, please cease all of the hostilities. I will ask for ZAFT to do the sa." Marcus could see younger Lacus sitting as a captain aboard the new ZAFT warship.
"You are not the leader of your people, little Lacus, and most importantly, your people are literally building a superweapon capable of frying humanity on Earth.
What kind of ceasefire are you speaking of?" Marcus shook his head as he dropped a bombshell on her, making the girl speechless.
"Superweapon… w-what?" She looked at her officers, who were as confused as she was!
'You are way too green to play politics with . Super weapons are useful not just to nuke stuff, but as political pawns as well.'
Marcus will use the Genesis as a reason for the conquest of PLANTs and an excuse to bring his rule; it's as simple as that.
"..." Lacus looked speechless. As she was at a loss for words and processing the new information, ZAFT was going down, ship by ship.
As this was happening in the background, a huge purple explosion followed as the mirage colloid that was hiding Genesis shattered, revealing a massive dish pointing towards Earth.
Not that it mattered, as the whole dish went out like a firework with the nuke that Jeanne shot from her customised Blitz.
~~~
'Nuclear missile! Damn him!' Kira was speechless that his father even brought nukes to this conflict! Those things blew up Junius Seven!
With that said, the teen moved forward in his newly acquired Freedom Gundam. The machine was extrely versatile with an array of ranged weapons and an impressive ability to move.
The ch rushed right towards a very specific target.
There is only one way to end this thing, and that is to confront his Father!
"Father, cease with these hostilities! You already won!" Freedom opened fire, making the Testant Gundam slap the beam away with a casual sword swing.
"You clearly have no idea about the art of war," Marcus replied in dissapointed tone.
"Does this an you finally made up your mind?" The black and purple Gundam swirled both swords as he was ready to fight.
"..." Kira looked at him in disbelief. Did his father already know they would fight? Just that idea made him feel a cold chill wash over him.
"That silence says it all. You took an emotion over logic, short-term happiness over true permanent peace.
For your choice, I shall take you to school." As he said that, Testant's eyes glowed for a second as the wings of light ignited and the Gundam rushed forward.
Kira reacted swiftly as his SEED activated on sheer instinct, driven by fear.
Freedom used its anti-beam shield to block the slash, but hot particles coated Testant's katanas, which could cut warships in half.
Sothing like a shield was nothing more than a piece of tissue paper.
The winged Gundam pulled back after losing its anti-beam shield. Without hesitation pulled out the beam rifle and tried to shoot Testant's head off.
But the black-and-purple machine simply moved its head to the side.
'D-Damn, he is good! I need to make more distance!' Kira thought, his forehead sweating, as he activated his Geass and tried to watch how his father would move.
However…
'I-I can't see anything!?'
"Are you seriously trying to use my power against ? You can't be that naive, son!" Testant delivered a spinning vertical slash, cutting off the beam rifle in half before another spin shredded the dominant hand off.
'I only hesitated for a second, and he abused it!' Kira pulled out a beam saber and went for a stab, but the dual sword-wielding Gundam simply parried the stroke, getting Freedom open for a finishing blow.
The strike took off the other hand, making the Gundam helpless.
Testant pulled back and looked at its handiwork.
"I am disappointed in you." The Black and Purple Gundam sheathed one of its blades.
"Not because of the path you have chosen but because of how you did it.
You tried to oppose , and I am not mad at it. My disappointnt cos from the fact that you didn't bring enough troops or make decent preparations." Marcus explained to Kira, who had no other option but to listen.
"Son, you do realise that I rebelled against my father? So, I am more than experienced in doing this."
As he spoke, the remnant of the ZAFT forces around them went down. The last warships exploded, and the four newcors didn't even launch the extra mobile suits that they had, as it was pointless. Their only hope was that Kira would fight Marcus Anaheim and beat him.
Not that it happened the way they wanted.
Sure enough, the coordinators who tried to declare their independence from the Earth Alliance were defeated.
