"Oh, is it about Rebecca Quentin?"
Alice Robinson sohow guessed it correctly.
Lisa Cecily opened her mouth in surprise, "You know?"
Alice smiled softly, "To be honest, these days Howard Geoffrey has been sleeping at my place... If there wasn’t so issue between him and Rebecca Quentin, why would he think of ? And you are always adept at handling Howard Geoffrey’s business affairs, so the only thing troubling you would be his personal matters."
When Howard Geoffrey was with Alice Robinson, Lisa Cecily had t Alice Robinson. However, Lisa Cecily always thought Alice was just a side note in Howard Geoffrey’s life, so she never regarded Alice as the future Mrs. Geoffrey. But hearing Alice’s words now, Lisa Cecily felt a newfound respect for Alice Robinson.
Lisa thought to herself, no one can fathom the boss’s mind...
Previously, she always believed the victor between Miss Quentin and Miss Robinson would only be Miss Quentin. But given the current situation, Miss Robinson might not necessarily lose.
So, Miss Robinson isn’t soone to offend either...
Thinking of this, Lisa chose to offend no one and pretended not to understand Alice’s probing, attempting, "Yes, the President asked to set so restrictions on his phone’s incoming calls; he doesn’t want Miss Quentin to call him anymore."
Hearing Lisa say this, a hint of joy appeared on Alice’s face, "Really?"
Lisa nodded, "Yes."
Alice said, "Looks like Jason Wood ntioned that Rebecca Quentin has indeed left New York."
Lisa didn’t continue to speak, holding back, said, "Uh, Miss Robinson, I need to deal with the tasks the President assigned , I’ll be going downstairs now." Even though she changed her attitude towards Miss Robinson, she always felt Miss Robinson couldn’t surpass Miss Quentin’s significance to the President because he had once admitted to her that Miss Quentin was his woman, while Alice had never heard him ntion it.
"Alright."
Lisa imdiately walked into the elevator.
Alice stood at the door and knocked on the open door of the President’s office.
Howard Geoffrey, without raising his head, said, "Co in."
Alice walked in, paused in front of the desk, calling softly, "Howard Geoffrey."
Hearing Alice’s gentle voice, Howard Geoffrey glanced up at her, asking indifferently, "Why are you here?"
Alice walked to Howard Geoffrey’s side, saying, "I called you but you didn’t answer, so I had to co to ’Skytop’ to find you." Although there was no discomfort in her tone, the words carried a hint of grievance.
Howard Geoffrey put aside the docunts and asked, "What’s the matter?"
Alice said slowly, "I want you to accompany for a prenatal check-up."
Howard Geoffrey replied indifferently, "I don’t have ti."
Alice spoke bitterly, "I know you’re busy, but my brother went back to France to be with my mom, and I have no relatives in New York..."
"It’s just a routine prenatal check-up. What are you worried about?" Howard Geoffrey’s tone remained cold.
Alice’s breath hitched, choking up, "You don’t know, last ti the doctor said the baby was developing slowly in the womb, and the heartbeat was unstable, so I was thinking of going to the hospital again to check... I’m really scared there might be bad news."
At that mont, Howard Geoffrey pressed the intercom button on the desk, "Secretary Cecily, cancel my afternoon’s work schedule, I need to leave for a while."
Lisa responded, "Yes."
Howard Geoffrey picked up his suit jacket and stood up. "Let’s go!"
Alice took Howard Geoffrey’s arm, already smiling through tears.
The next day.
Early in the morning, while Andrew was still sleeping, Rebecca Quentin was tidying up the living room, listening to the news.
Initially, she just wanted to listen to the news to pass the ti while cleaning, but unexpectedly, shortly after the news started, a piece of news that struck Rebecca Quentin’s sensitivity ca through.
"Yesterday, the New York Tis reported that ’Skytop’ Group’s President Howard Geoffrey accompanied his fiancée Alice Robinson to the hospital for a prenatal check-up..."
On hearing this news, Rebecca Quentin instinctively raised her eyes to the television.
The television was currently showing the scene of Howard Geoffrey accompanying Alice Robinson into the obstetrics and gynecology hospital for the check-up...
The New York Tis is one of New York’s most popular and rigorous newspapers; if they hadn’t captured convincing footage, they wouldn’t publish such a ssage.
Rebecca Quentin’s gaze fixed on the television for a few seconds, her initial surprise slowly turning dull and eventually losing all light.
The Hope City project had considerable issues; she thought he would be busy lately, especially needing to discuss solutions with Skyler Jones...
But he still made ti to accompany Alice Robinson for the prenatal check-up.
She once felt touched that he accompanied her for the prenatal check-up. Now thinking about it, he wasn’t particularly special to her.
He went to Alton to see her in his spare ti, compared to making ti amidst busyness to accompany Alice Robinson, it’s enough to prove how much he values Alice Robinson.
Their relationship should be getting better...
Reaching out to turn off the TV with the remote, Rebecca Quentin continued to mop the floor, but her mind had already drifted afar.
Rebecca Quentin was brought back by the sudden sound of the doorbell.
Putting down the mop, she walked to the door.
"Becca!"
Upon opening the door, a joyful call imdiately reached Rebecca Quentin’s ears.
Rebecca Quentin looked at Christine Quinn in disbelief and said joyfully, "Sis."
Christine Quinn reached out to hug Rebecca Quentin, "I’ve missed you so much!"
" too..."
Rebecca Quentin reached out to hug Christine Quinn, her nose suddenly tingling, "Why did you co suddenly?"
"Y City is not far from T City, plus Marie was recently taken to stay at his place by Skyler Jones, so I ca to see you."
"Sis, I’m so glad you ca, co in and sit."
Rebecca Quentin pulled Christine Quinn into the apartnt.
Christine Quinn took a look at the apartnt which, though not upscale, was neatly and elegantly decorated, and asked, "Is this the place you rented?"
Rebecca Quentin pulled Christine Quinn to the sofa in the living room, "Yes, the environnt here is good, not far from downtown, and I like the decor."
Christine Quinn praised, "It is indeed an elegant decor, plus with two rooms and a living room, it’s quite spacious, I like it too."
"I was also afraid you and Marie might co to stay, so I rented an extra room."
"Haha, you do have so conscience... Where’s Andrew?"
"He was restless for most of the night yesterday, so he’s still sleeping."
"Restless?" Christine Quinn puzzled, "Andrew has always been well-behaved, not restless at night."
"I don’t know either, since I ca to T City, he often cries at night."
"Could it be because of the change in environnt, he isn’t used to it?"
"Perhaps!"
"And you?"
"Hmm?" Rebecca Quentin lifted her eyes, "What’s wrong with ?"
