"Although Shine has connections, it doesn’t have Skytop’s qualifications. If Mr. Tout seeks partnerships elsewhere, the project’s profits cannot be maximized... Just tell him that Skytop and Shine will split seventy-thirty; otherwise, ignore him."
"You’re indeed wise and decisive, President. I’ll give Mr. Tout a little scare right now."
Geoffrey walked into the office, and a rich aroma of coffee wafted gently into his nostrils.
Seeing the steaming cup of coffee on the desk, Geoffrey curled up his lips slightly.
Sure enough, the next second, sothing soft quietly embraced him from behind, "Hubby."
Geoffrey turned around, wrapping his arms around his sweet wife, his voice hoarse from affection, "Why did you co?"
Rebecca Quentin, who exuded an enchanting aura of femininity, sweetly said, "I’m going to the hospital to see Chester Robinson. I passed by the company, so I ca to see you!"
Geoffrey pulled Rebecca Quentin to the sofa in the office. Once seated, he had Rebecca on his lap, burying his head in her neck, "Did you make the coffee?"
"Yes, knowing you were in a eting, I was afraid you lacked energy, so I made you a cup."
"Lacking energy?" Geoffrey’s playful voice was low around Rebecca Quentin’s neck, "Indeed, a lot of energy was spent last night."
"You rascal." Sitting on Geoffrey’s long legs, Rebecca Quentin blushed but seed extrely comfortable.
"Being a rascal to my wife doesn’t count as being a rascal; it’s called love." Geoffrey gave Rebecca Quentin a peck on the face, feeling so good pampering her and wanting to continue doing so forever.
"Uh, hubby, actually, I have a question for you..."
"Hmm?"
Rebecca Quentin turned her face, looking at Geoffrey’s handso profile, and with a hint of shyness, whispered into his ear, "When I first t you, you were already quite experienced, and I know that when you were with my sister, you both were just acting without having a real relationship, so... where did your experience co from?"
"Uh... sweet wife, you see I have another eting to attend next..."
Rebecca Quentin gently twisted Geoffrey’s ear, "Don’t try to brush off; answer honestly."
"This question is obviously a trap; how am I supposed to answer?"
"I know there’s no point in asking you this, after all, before I t you, you were already the famous Skytop Group president in the business world, and it was normal for won to surround you. But... I just want to know whether your experience cos from nurous encounters or if you actually had a girlfriend."
Geoffrey narrowed his eyes sharply, "Did soone tell you sothing?"
Rebecca Quentin let out an "Oh," imitating him by squinting her eyes mischievously, "So it was the latter."
"That was before I t you, and it was so long ago I don’t rember."
"Did you have happy days together?"
"Why do I sll jealousy?" Geoffrey amusingly moved his hand to Rebecca Quentin’s waist, kissing her neck.
"Can you tell how you broke up back then?"
"Sweet wife, are you sure you’re going to the hospital to see Chester Robinson and not suddenly thought of this boring question, so you ca to the company to interrogate ?"
Rebecca Quentin giggled, encircling Geoffrey’s neck with her hands, "I’m not interrogating you; I’m just curious... Fine, if you don’t want to answer, just forget it. Even if you answered, it might not be the truth anyway." She was quite understanding.
"Good girl."
Rebecca Quentin glanced at the clock in Geoffrey’s office, her body lightly struggling, "I have to go to the hospital; I’ve already made an appointnt with Alice Robinson."
"There’s no rush."
Feeling Geoffrey’s lips getting increasingly warm against her neck, Rebecca Quentin gently pushed his head away, blushing, "Don’t do that... there are many people in the company!"
"We can go to the lounge."
Rebecca Quentin muttered softly, "You’re so annoying, always thinking about this every day..."
"Didn’t you say every minute n think about this for forty seconds?"
"But... you have to have self-control."
"You don’t like it?"
"Don’t ask such explicit questions!"
"Then how should I ask so it’s not explicit?"
"Why don’t you just not ask!"
"Okay, then I won’t ask, I’ll just do it, is that fine?"
Geoffrey slipped his hand into Rebecca Quentin’s clothes, then gently caressed her skin.
"You’re so annoying..." Rebecca Quentin shyly slapped Geoffrey’s hand away.
The hospital.
Standing by the bedside, Rebecca Quentin somberly watched Chester Robinson, who appeared to be breathing steadily like he was sleeping.
"You said he moved his hand once?" Rebecca Quentin asked Alice Robinson beside her.
Alice Robinson, who was five months pregnant but still maintained her figure, nodded, "That day right after the ultrasound, the doctor told the baby in my belly is a little princess. I couldn’t wait to tell him, and then his hand moved..."
"Doctor Robinson must really like children."
Alice Robinson nodded, "He once told that if he had a child, he would be the most doting father in the world and never let the child suffer even a bit."
Rebecca Quentin sighed lightly, "He didn’t have a happy childhood himself, so he placed all his hopes on the child."
"So, he will definitely wake up before the child is born, to fulfill his promise to be a good daddy."
"Alice, although I don’t know how things have developed between you and Chester Robinson, I’ve always known the person you liked was Geoffrey. I never knew your feelings for Chester were like this... I don’t know what to say."
"Don’t say you don’t know how I feel about Chester Robinson; even I can’t tell myself... I always thought the person I loved this life would only be Geoffrey, and I never placed Chester in my heart. But when I learned he was in an accident and lying in the hospital bed, my heart felt like it was suddenly emptied... You know what? If soone could tell they can wake him, I would give everything, even my life."
Rebecca Quentin gently supported Alice Robinson, whose body was trembling slightly due to her low spirits, softly comforting her, "I believe Chester Robinson will wake up, just like you said, he has a promise to his child, so when he knows you have his child, his emotions will fluctuate..."
"Actually, from the first ti he ca into my ho when he was eighteen, I had a crush on him... Even back then, naïve knew that feeling was liking, but he was always cold to until the day he discovered I could draw..."
