Christine Quinn took a deep breath and said, "I’m sorry, was my tone a bit too harsh?"
Skyler Jones shook his head, "I’m just regretful that you made such a decision."
Christine Quinn smiled, "Let the past be the past, you and I can both start over."
The relief and calmness in her eyes revealed no pretense, so real that it surprised him.
The next second, she turned around, "I’m going upstairs to check on Marie."
Christine Quinn spent the whole afternoon with Marie, the mother and daughter happily chatting about the events that occurred around them these past few months.
Skyler Jones stayed in the study all afternoon, yet through the thick walls of the study, he could still hear the laughter and joy of the mother and daughter.
His mood was inevitably affected, a slight smile appeared on his handso face, as he spun a glass ornant by his hand, his slightly squinted dark eyes exuding a deep and unfathomable look.
At dinner ti, the conversation between Christine Quinn and Marie was still full of endless mother-daughter topics.
Skyler Jones didn’t join in the conversation, remaining silent while eating dinner.
Suddenly, Marie asked Christine Quinn, "Mommy, you won’t leave tonight, right?"
Christine Quinn seed caught off guard by Marie’s question, pausing for a second before replying, "Uh, mommy won’t be staying here tonight."

Skyler Jones also looked at Christine Quinn at this mont.
Christine Quinn truthfully told Marie, "Mommy and daddy are not suitable to live together anymore, so mommy will stay in a hotel for the next few days and then decide what to do."

Skyler Jones embraced Marie gently beside him, softly reprimanding, "How could you talk to your mommy like that? Didn’t I tell you that your mommy is not well, you shouldn’t upset her, hmm?"
Marie’s tearful eyes looked very aggrieved at Christine Quinn, she released her gently bitten lip, apologetically said, "Mommy, I’m sorry..."
