"Why would we switch?" On the other end of the call, Erebus frowned. "The three factions have definitely already learned that we, the five Primordial Gods of Greece, held a eting. My movents are going to be watched closely from here on out. If you ask to swap places with you now, there's nothing I can do."
He paused briefly before continuing, "Nyx, stop playing around. Right now, you're the only one who is perfect for carrying out the plan. We need you to create so chaos over there."
"But… Brother, I think we may have underestimated the new Fallen Angel Governor…"
Nyx sounded hesitant.
Originally, she had firmly believed that Ryo wasn't that strong, and that his victory over Ophis had likely been part of so hidden plan.
But after watching the video, she wasn't so sure anymore.
Whether Ryo was actually weak or not, the footage made one thing obvious: He was at least a tiny little bit stronger than her.
If she charged in recklessly, wouldn't she just be delivering herself to him on a silver platter?
"It sounds like you received new intelligence." Erebus's tone grew serious. "Did it co from the Olympian gods' intelligence network?"
There was obvious wariness in his voice when he ntioned the Olympian gods.
In front of Nyx, he didn't bother hiding his distrust toward those so-called descendants.
Truthfully, Erebus had always looked down on the Greek gods they themselves had created. Though they were nominally their grandchildren, in reality they were little more than tools used by the Five Primordial Gods.
Only Zeus's faction had managed to turn things around sowhat by defeating Gaia once, earning a asure of autonomy. Then, under Hades's rise, they beca the mainstream force of Greek mythology.
But after Hades's defeat centuries ago, the Five Primordial Gods had once again beco the rulers of the Greek pantheon.
Still, that didn't stop Erebus from remaining cautious toward those descendants. If anything, it made him even more cautious.
"It ca through their network, but it's from one of my trained informants," Nyx replied, then added carefully, "I sent you the footage so you can see for yourself."
"…"
Erebus fell silent.
After receiving the video, he watched it several tis before imdiately giving his verdict, "Fake."
"…Brother?"
Nyx blinked in confusion. "Why are you calling it fake?"
"The footage has been edited, and badly at that. That final attack, or rather kick, makes no sense. No matter how fast soone moves, there should still be residual motion blur or afterimages. But here, the movent changes abruptly. Doesn't it look like two separate shots stitched together?"
Erebus, who understood both combat and human technology, spotted the flaw imdiately.
At high speed, Ryo's kicking motion should have remained fluid and continuous. But the footage showed a break in motion instead.
The fras didn't connect naturally.
That inconsistency created an obvious flaw.
And since the intelligence had co through the Olympus' channels, Erebus instinctively viewed it with suspicion.
"Besides, what kind of Governor kicks people in the crotch? Where's the dignity of a true powerhouse? When facing a challenge, shouldn't a strong person crush the enemy with an even stronger blast of magic power instead?"
"…Now that you put it that way, it does sound reasonable…" Nyx still trusted her brother's judgnt.
Though personally, she'd thought Ryo had simply lifted his leg casually and happened to nail Kokabiel right there, Erebus's explanation fit her understanding of common sense much better.
Weren't powerful beings supposed to clash with giant beams of magic energy?
What kind of expert won fights by kicking people there?
Realizing she'd nearly been scared off by fake propaganda from Ryo, Nyx suddenly felt both embarrassed and irritated.
"Still, there's also a chance the information is partially true." After thinking for a mont, Erebus continued, "I've heard about your plan. Using that descendant of Leviathan to control Ophis is theoretically possible, but you'll need the cooperation of a certain existence."
"Who?" Nyx asked curiously.
Erebus answered in a low voice, "Samael the Dragon Eater."
"Hades conducted research before. If Ophis is targeted by Samael, the angel cursed by the Creator God specifically to kill dragons, even she would be weakened."
"And combined with the Leviathan you possess as a control device, controlling Ophis becos a realistic possibility."
"And right now, both Samael and Leviathan are in our hands. We can lure Ryo away first, seize control of Ophis before he returns, and then either use her power against him or simply avoid fighting him altogether. As long as we steal Ophis's power or reclaim Hades, we win."
Of course, reclaiming Hades was a lie.
What Erebus truly wanted was Hades's power.
He had already made up his mind. He intended to devour Hades, pushing himself into the top ten strongest beings in the world.
That goal had to be accomplished no matter what.
Which was exactly why he insisted on sending Nyx into danger, even if Ryo really was powerful.
Only if Nyx created enough chaos to draw away the three factions' attention could Erebus successfully raid Ajuka Beelzebub's castle and seize Hades.
Not even the fact that Nyx was his sister would change that.
Without revealing any of that, Erebus calmly continued, "With Samael plus your own strength, safety should be guaranteed. And if you obtain Ophis's power, you may even be able to counterattack the three factions."
"Of course, just to be safe, once you secure Ophis, retreat imdiately. After returning to Mount Olympus, I'll discuss it with others and arrange for you to take custody of Ophis."
"Really?" Nyx's eyes instantly lit up.
The power of the Infinite Dragon God. No one could resist temptation on that level.
"Naturally."
Erebus smiled before adding, "Right now, Ophis appears to be inside the Fallen Academy, which is one of the Fallen Angels' classified zones, making her difficult to track."
"But it doesn't matter. Didn't the devils send support personnel to Kyoto? They'll definitely et up there eventually."
"When that happens, use the infiltrators and strike directly at Ophis. Understood?"
Nyx nodded repeatedly.
Only after listening to the full operation plan did she finally end the call, her expression turning extrely complicated.
"…Brother, your heart's gotten colder and colder over the years…"
Nyx muttered to herself.
Then she sighed, picked up the tablet again, and opened a currently popular romantic cody series. While munching on rice crackers, she started watching it.
Problems ca every day anyway. Since that was the case, why mistreat yourself?
As the cody played, her tangled emotions gradually settled down.
Ti passed little by little.

The next day — Fallen Academy dormitory
At dawn, Ryo slowly opened his eyes after hearing approaching footsteps.
Before he could even turn his head, a soft breeze brushed past him.
The blanket was briefly lifted. Then an octopus-like creature crawled inside.
Ryo froze.
Looking at the ssy blonde hair draped across his arm, then at Lavinia lying beside him with her back turned, he fell into deep thought.
