Chapter 1224: Knocking on the Door of Death! (5)

Far above the shattered mountains and the screaming tides of undead, beyond the collapsing sanctuary and the violent quakes splitting the earth apart, another scene unfolded in silence.

Hovering directly above the colossal gray barrier surrounding the entire region was a lone figure. He floated motionlessly like the Grim Reaper overlooking a field of corpses, for he was none other than the Undead Lich King.

His enormous skeletal frame was wrapped in layers of obsidian armor engraved with ancient death runes that pulsed like living veins. Behind his back, his tattered black cloak drifted soundlessly despite the violent storms of death aura raging everywhere below.

The fractured eclipse halo above his head rotated slowly, casting crimson-black shadows over the battlefield beneath him.

From his vantage point, the entire battlefield looked insignificant. The collapsing mountains, the fleeing survivors, and the endless undead tides—all of it resembled ants struggling beneath the foot of a god.

His hollow sockets burned with cold purple infernos as he watched the Axe Bone Tyrant continue tearing apart the underground sanctuary below while the Corpse Wyvern Lord patiently maintained formation control from afar.

Today, the Undead Lich King had personally descended, but because he considered the ‘little thief’ worthy of his attention.

But because he could no longer tolerate failure as he had before, for again and again Elia had escaped his Dukes of Death, and every time, she returned stronger.

Each escape was another humiliation carved into his prestige, and far more importantly, the existence behind him was already being impatient.

The moment that thought surfaced, even the Undead Lich King’s soul-fire dimmed slightly because if they failed to capture the wielder of the Throne of Death again, the consequences—even he shuddered, imagining them.

Its gray spherical barrier now engulfed the entire battlefield, isolating everything within from the outside universe. Inside this barrier, space itself was dead, as no teleportation, dimensional shifting, or escape was possible.

Even quasi-myths would find themselves trapped like insects within a sealed coffin.

Still, despite all this preparation, the Undead Lich King had not personally entered the battlefield because it was beneath him.

A mere legendary king ant was unworthy of forcing the supreme mander of the Undead Skyfall to dirty his own hands. That was why he allowed the strongest Axe Bone Tyrant and the cunning Corpse Wyvern Lord to act instead.

But if even today those two inpetent fools failed, then afterward, he would personally torment their souls until even eternal death became mercy.

The Undead Lich King watched impassively as Axe Bone Tyrant’s colossal axe descended once more.

‘BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!’

Entire mountain chains exploded apart, and ancient formations shattered like glass as the survivors’ hideout was finally fully exposed beneath the ruined earth.

The Undead Lich King’s sockets flickered coldly as he knew it was over. There was nowhere left for the little thief to run, and now all he needed to do was just watch the little thief struggle to death.

Yet just as this thought surfaced, something suddenly caught his attention, and his gaze slowly shifted toward the farthest corner of the Death Grave-Sealing Dome.

Because the barrier was under his direct control, anything attempting to interfere with it would instantly be noticed by him, and at that moment, a subtle fluctuation emerged.

Even though the fluctuation was tiny, hidden, it was undeniably present, and the Undead Lich King sneered with derision.

“Some ant dared to knock on the door of death before eternal hell?” His voice reverberated across space itself, “Such courage, yet even hell is too great an honor for insignificant dregs.”

The next moment, he casually flicked one skeletal finger, and instantly, a streak of concentrated death law tore across the sky. It resembled a black-violet et condensed from pure annihilation.

The surrounding space rotted wherever it passed, despite the attack being casual and effortless. Yet even hundreds of Legendary Kings would have instantly perished beneath it.

The streak shot directly toward the invisible distortion near the edge of the barrier, but just before impact, the concealed space suddenly distorted.

The place was an invisible shuttle of legendary king rank that had been present a moment ago, now vanished, and in its place, a hooded figure in a long windbreaker appeared silently in the space.

It was none other than Jacob, as his dark windbreaker fluttered lightly, as pale golden white flames burned behind the shadows beneath his hood.

Facing the ining streak capable of extinguishing countless Legendary Kings, Jacob merely raised one finger.

Thereafter, at the tip of that finger, pitch black emerged, which wasn’t darkness or shadow, but something even blacker than black itself as the surrounding light vanished around it. Even the death aura nearby seemed to collapse inward unnaturally.

The next moment, the streak of death law collided with Jacob’s fingertip and abruptly disappeared without an explosion, as though it had never existed.

The Undead Lich King instantly noticed something profoundly wrong for the first time; surprise flickered within his hollow sockets, making his disinterest vanish slightly, and in its place was subtle curiosity.

Without hesitation, the Undead Lich King slashed one skeletal finger downward.

‘SHRRRRRK!’

Space itself split apart as a gigantic spatial-death slash descended instantly toward Jacob, carrying an overwhelming fusion of Death Law and Space Law powerful enough to sever continents apart.

The Undead Lich King already looked away before the attack even landed because in his eyes, the oute was already decided, for not even a Quasi-Myth could survive that strike.

Yet, silence followed, and the Undead Lich King’s gaze paused slightly as he turned back again, and he was startled because Jacob still stood there motionlessly, pletely unharmed.

Once more, Jacob’s finger remained raised, and the spatial-death slash had vanished exactly like the previous attack.

This time, astonishment finally appeared within the Undead Lich King’s sockets.

“What?”

His gaze locked onto Jacob pletely now, but at that moment, Jacob slowly lifted his head, and beneath the hood, those ghastly flames flared coldly.

“Impossible!”

The Undead Lich King’s soul-fire instantly contracted because Jacob seemed to be directly looking toward his concealed location, which even Quasi-Myths couldn’t perceive, while he concealed himself through the Death Grave-Sealing Dome.

For the first time, he became slightly serious, yet before he could react further, Jacob vanished pletely!
