Chapter 1232: It is Impossible to Love and be Wise!
“It was most likely that monster…Faceless Ancient!”
The moment the name ‘Faceless Ancient’ was uttered by Nell, both women shuddered as if they had just heard the name of the Grim Reaper itself.
Moreover, if Jacob were to hear Nell mentioning the name of his Star ID, which hadn’t been really in the limelight within the Legendary Plains, and with how afraid they were, as if they knew about his reputation, he would also be astounded and reach only one conclusion.
Nell, the woman in a white coat, and the lightning-haired woman were most likely from the Lesser Plains of Taurus Galaxy!
Apparently, it was also the truth because Nell was none other than Nelson, once known as the President of the Alchemy Guild of the Epic Plains, the woman in a white coat was Lucy, the Manager of the Universal Zodiac Bank of Epic Plains, while the lightning-haired woman was, obliviously, Nelson’s daughter Ellie, the vice-president of the Alchemy Guild of the Epic Plains.
All three of them were, in a sense, victims of the Faceless Ancient, Jacob, as first they were forced to flee the Epic Plains, and from then on, they were always on the run because they had offended a monstrous existence that holds a grudge and ended up being victims of their own arrogance and schemes.
But Nelson never wanted any of it; all he ever wanted was to live in peace with his daughter.
However, fate sometimes has something else in store and plays tricks, for he ended up in this situation exactly because of his daughter.
After Elia ran away from the Lightning Elf Race’s hidden island in the Unique Plains, Nelson had no choice but to go after her and search for her while constantly living in fear that she might end up encountering that monster.
In the end, Elia, who was the plete opposite of her father, didn’t want to live in constant fear and remained mediocre. So, she found the only person she could think of who had the same goals, her maternal aunt Lucy, despite holding a grudge against her.
Both women, despite their differences, wanted the same things: power, authority, and riches, just like in the past.
When Elia sought out Lucy, the latter, after some hesitation, agreed to let her join her quest, which was none other than searching for the Star Ocean Medallion.
After going through thick and thin while consistently ignoring Nelson’s contact requests, they succeeded in finding the Star Ocean Medallions and ended up in the Path of Legend!
However, the strangest thing about this event was that both Elia and Lucy’s entrances in the Path of Legend were abrupt, and they weren’t even prepared for it, as one day the Star Ocean Medallions suddenly activated on their own, and the next thing they remembered was that they were in the Path of Legend.
But according to the records, this wasn’t supposed to happen, yet neither of them was knowledgeable enough to accept it, because even knowledge of the Path of Legend was discovered by Lucy in some ancient ruins within the Star Ocean.
Yet, they both seemed to have underestimated Nelson’s determination to find them and how desperate he had been to the point of being willing to sacrifice anything just to make sure Ellie was alive and safe.
That’s what happened as in his desperation, Nelson found himself in the Riddle Archipelago, one of the three most dangerous No-Return Zones of the Star Ocean, and it was the exact place where the Timeless City of the Lesser Plains was hidden!
Normally, Nelson should’ve died or lost forever like anyone else, and he was lost and on the verge of death when he felt himself dragged into a mysterious place, almost as if his soul had ascended from his body after death.
But he wasn’t dead, nor had he ascended. Instead, that day, on the brink of death, he was summoned into a dream-like space where he met a God who was willing to grant him the power to be united with Ellie and save her from a terrible fate, and he might even be able to remove the threat to her life indefinitely.
However, Nelson was far from being a desperate fool, and he knew there was no free lunch in this world, especially when someone unexpectedly reached out to a desperate fool and gave him hope.
Yet despite knowing that there might be something within him that attracted a literal God’s scrutiny, he might even be able to deduce the other party’s real intentions if he tried, and then maybe able to haggle with the other party, maybe…
Despite many possibilities flashing in his extraordinary mind, there was one thought that crushed his courage and made him hesitate infinitely.
What if he offended this God? What if they outright killed him or even abandoned him if he showed disrespect towards the former’s kindness? Wouldn’t he lose the only chance he had to be reunited with his daughter and make sure she was safe?
In that moment, Nelsen, who had always been calculative about everything, didn’t listen to his brilliant mind, just like any other time when it involved his daughter, and accepted God’s help.
Yet deep down, he knew that this could also be a deal with the devil, and it didn’t take him long to deduce the truth!
Thereby, Nelson found himself awakening within the Timeless City of Riddle Archipelago, and, to his shock, the moment he accepted God’s offer, he had already bee an Iron Constant!
Although Nelson still didn’t understand if it was that ‘God’ or some kind of unknown method within the Timeless City that turned him into an Iron Constant, one thing he was certain of was that he had bee far stronger than his dying self that day, and that was enough.
After getting himself accustomed to the Iron Constant power and learning many astounding things about the real ATLAS, he really felt this might turn out to be the greatest decision of his life.
Afterward, Nelson finally found Ellie’s whereabouts and entered the Path of Legend, and as that ‘God’ promised, he was reunited with Ellie and Lucy.
But what he had been most afraid of all this time also came to be, for it was the time to repay God for its help, and that’s how his journey as ‘Nell’ began!
