"Your friend didn't just leave behind a photograph."

After flipping through the phone a bit more, Drake also found a mo.

Judging by the ti stamp, it had clearly been left on purpose for Rika.

"She definitely wouldn't have thought to do sothing like this on her own."

Rika knew her best friend very well.

There was no way that absent-minded, huge boobs Shizuka would have co up with this herself.

"It was probably one of the other girls in the picture who suggested it."

"Mm… probably."

Drake stared at the screen without fully committing to the idea.

Saeko Busujima, Shizuka Marikawa, Saya Takagi, Rei Miyamoto—four people in total.

Sure enough, Takashi Komuro and Kohta Hirano, who were supposed to be part of the main group, were nowhere to be seen.

From the note, it seed that this four-person team had departed that morning, taking the modified Humr from Rika's garage.

As for their destination… just like in the original story, it was Saya Takagi's family estate.

But there was one thing that bothered Drake. After a mont of thought, he suddenly said, "Rika, go check whether the firearms in your house are still there."

"Hm? How did you know… all right, fine, I'll check."

Rika froze for a mont, confused, but still followed the instruction and went into one of the bedrooms.

Taking out the key to the gun locker with practiced ease, she opened a sturdy tal cabinet.

In truth, the mont Drake saw there were no signs of forced entry on the locker, he had already reached a conclusion.

"All my babies are still right where they belong."

Rika pulled out several firearms from the locker.

There were automatic rifles, shotguns, and handguns.

Besides that, the cabinet also contained plenty of ammunition and throwable explosives like grenades.

"Give a few grenades."

Drake gave the locker a quick once-over. The only thing he really wanted right now was the explosives for ergencies.

Once he unlocked the Demolitions Expert role, he'd be able to buy all kinds of explosives from the corresponding shop—grenades, bombs, dynamite, rockets, and more.

"Boss, you don't want a gun too?"

Casually tossing Drake a few safety-pinned grenades, Rika recomnded one anyway.

"This Glock 18 is pretty nice. Nine-milliter—the eternal classic."

"I'll pass."

Drake shrugged and refused.

"I'm not good with guns that need magazines."

And besides, the noise of gunfire was huge. It would attract every zombie in the area.

In terms of ranged killing power, the Superheated Ion Blaster in his hands was still better.

After defeating King Sli, the Superheated Ion Blaster had also upgraded—the number of projectiles fired in a single shot had increased by one!

For the sa mana cost as before, it could now fire two high-energy laser beams or phase laser spheres!

At the sa ti, its base damage had also gone up slightly.

The increase wasn't huge, but it could still evolve again later.

The next upgrade would co after defeating the Eater of Worlds.

"So Shizuka was actually heading for the Takagi family's place."

After reading the note on the phone, Rika relaxed a little.

"Well, since it's the base of the Society of Patriots, it should be as secure as a fortress."

"If she got there, she's probably very safe…"

"That's assuming her group actually made it there in one piece."

Drake cut in from the side.

Even if he didn't know why the two male leads were missing, the effect of not having Kohta Hirano was easy to see.

Without that military otaku's keen instincts, Shizuka and the girls had failed to discover the firearms and ammunition hidden in Rika's villa.

Aside from a fairly sturdy modified Humr, they had no real weapons.

If they ran into trouble on the road that had to be solved by force… this group would be very easy to trap.

Even though Saeko Busujima was strong in close combat, she was still only human—not even an adventurer.

If she got bitten by a zombie, infection would still be a danger.

So Drake planned to follow the route they had taken and search for signs of Shizuka's group.

"Got a map? Give one. And mark the location of the destination too."

"I do…"

Rika quickly guessed what Drake was planning and volunteered at once.

"I'm coming with you."

"No. You're staying here and waiting for my return."

Drake accepted the map, gave it a quick look, then casually pulled Lili in front of him.

"This place is relatively safe. You stay here with Lili and don't wander around. I'm more mobile on my own."

Rika didn't even have ti to process what "more mobile" ant.

She just watched as Drake pushed open the window and suddenly fired a blue "line" from his wrist.

The line seed to have astonishing elasticity.

The mont it latched onto the wall, it contracted and yanked Drake's body outward.

Then he retracted it, fired it again, and after several quick maneuvers vanished like a falling leaf from Rika's sight.

That speed was practically no slower than when they'd been riding the motorcycle earlier!

"This guy… really is a weirdo."

Rika muttered to herself, then glanced at Lili beside her and added,

"That wasn't ant as an insult toward the boss, little one."

Lili gave a disgruntled look toward the beautiful operative's impressive chest and snorted.

"Who are you calling little? Lili isn't little at all!"

The thing letting Drake swing through the urban steel jungle like Tarzan, of course, was his recently acquired Sli Hook.

As long as he kept using it to latch onto walls and pull himself forward, he could race through the city like Spider-Man.

Ironically, in Terraria, because the underground spaces were usually cramped and the surface had few tall structures, the hook mostly just served for climbing and ergency escape.

"Phew… this feels pretty great."

Feeling the wind rushing against his face, Drake narrowed his eyes in contentnt.

He wasn't worried about falling from high up if the hook ever missed.

After all, in Terraria, there were plenty of ways to prevent fall damage.

The simplest and most direct way was this: equip the Lucky Horseshoe accessory to beco immune to fall damage.

If one had extra jumps, one could also avoid damage by using a double jump just before landing.

Or one could rely on accessories such as wings or rocket boots to achieve flight or slow fall.

If Drake rembered correctly, the Calamity mod also added potions that granted immunity to fall damage.

At the mont, Drake had two ways to deal with it.

One was the extra jump granted by the Cloud in a Bottle.

The other…

A sudden disturbance in the distance imdiately sharpened Drake's focus, even while he was still airborne.

After swinging toward the source of the sound, Drake did not rush to land.

Instead, he used the Sli Hook to stick himself to the outer wall of an office building.

From that high vantage point, he looked down at what was happening below.

Just as he had expected—Shizuka Marikawa and the others were not having a smooth journey.

The problem they were facing, however, was not zombies.

It was other survivors.
