When they reached the eleventh floor, everything changed. The area opened into a massive cavern, nothing like the narrow tunnels they had just co through.

The monsters here were far from ordinary.

"ROARRRRRRRRRR!"

A four-legged, armored Armadillo-like monster stood its ground on the stone floor and let out a vicious roar at August and Liliruca Arde.

August ignored the beast's roar. He glared at the armored monster, raised his hand, and fired his assault rifles. The bullets tore through the air and punched holes in the monster's thick armor.

"ROARRRR!"

Suddenly, chaos erupted across the floor. Silverback Apes charged in, driven by wild energy.

"Those are Silverbacks!" Lili panicked. "We haven't even deployed any bait yet! Why are they already rushing us??"

Lili saw how strangely aggressive the monsters were and quickly realized that sothing or soone was riling up the horde on purpose.

"August, soone must be—"

Lili tried to warn him, but August raised a hand to silence her.

"It's not human," August said coldly.

He stared into a dark corner of the cavern. His sharp combat senses picked up a strong wave of hostility from that spot.

Lili followed his gaze and finally saw what was hiding in the darkness.

A Dragon.

"No way... An ultra-rare Infant Dragon? How could one spawn here??"

The creature was four ters long, as tall as a grown man. More importantly, it was a real Dragon. Infant Dragons were so rare and dangerous that a Level 1 Adventurer had no chance. Usually, it took a well-prepared Level 2 or even Level 3 party to beat one safely.

"Not bad. Not bad at all."

August realized the Labyrinth was sending him a special challenge. After he had cleared out several floors on his last trip, the Dungeon had gathered a powerful group of monsters to greet him this ti.

"Let's see which is stronger: your Labyrinth's monster legion, or my modern firepower."

August swept his hand forward.

Several assault rifles appeared in the air around him, ready to fire one after another.

Spurred on by the Infant Dragon's commanding roar, the Silverbacks and Hard Armored monsters launched a suicidal charge straight at August.

"Suppressing fire."

He emptied his magazines without any hesitation. The thundering roar of gunfire resounded through the huge cavern.

Monster screams and gunfire blasts mixed together, filling the cavern with chaos.

From the back, the Infant Dragon watched August hold off its horde with nonstop gunfire. When it saw August wasn't moving, the dragon decided to sneak around and attack from behind.

The dragon launched its huge body and charged at August's blind spot with incredible speed.

"It's coming!" Lili, standing securely by August's side, kept her eyes glued to the rare beast.

She wasn't worried about the main group of monsters. With August's firepower, they couldn't get within fifteen ters before being wiped out. But the Infant Dragon was different. Lili knew this powerful monster was a real threat.

"I've been waiting for you."

"Go."

August raised his free hand.

As soon as he did, a suicide drone shot out from the void with a high-pitched chanical whine.

Whirrrr!

The drone sped past the Infant Dragon before it could react. The beast didn't expect its target to use a weapon faster than its own charge and had no ti to dodge.

As soon as the drone hit, it exploded in mid-air.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

"ROAARRRR!" The Infant Dragon let out one last angry cry before the explosion tore it apart. It disappeared before the smoke cleared, leaving only a large Magic Stone.

Still, August didn't let the quick kill get to him. He stayed calm and focused.

"Lili, deploy the bait," August ordered. Sothing still felt incredibly wrong.

If the Dungeon was really giving him a 'Gift,' it wouldn't stop there. His assault rifles could handle these monsters with ease. He needed to be careful and use the bait to draw out anything else that might be hiding nearby.

"RIGHT AWAY!" Lili followed his command flawlessly.

Pulling the vacuum-sealed monster bait from her pack, she tore it open and hurled chunks into the surrounding shadows.

For these wild monsters, the strong sll of the bait was impossible to resist. Even those who had started to hesitate because of August's firepower were now back in a frenzy.

But it wasn't only the Hard Armoreds and Silverbacks that reacted.

A familiar, terrifying roar resounded from the upper ledges. Multiple Infant Dragons leapt out from the pitch-black corners of the cavern, drawn out by the overpowering scent of the bait.

"There's more??" A chilling wave of dread washed over Lili's limbs.

Was she imagining things? The Guild's bestiary said Infant Dragons were extrely rare on these floors. Even one would need a skilled raid team to defeat. But now, more than eight had shown up at once. Was the Dungeon just giving out rare monsters?

"I knew it. It wouldn't skimp on the main course," August muttered, staring down the eight Infant Dragons. This was the true trap.

These were the Dungeon's main weapons for the ambush. The plan was probably to use the Hard Armoreds' tough armor to soak up August's gunfire and wear him down, but since his rifles cut through them so easily, that plan had already failed.

Now, the eight Infant Dragons had locked onto him. Their arrival filled the cavern with deafening roars, threatening to tear August apart.

The chaos caught the attention of other nearby Adventurers. August didn't know them, but he saw they weren't just random onlookers. They wore the symbols of a top-tier Vanguard Familia.

"The Loki Familia..." August noted, spotting a very unexpected, high-profile figure among the approaching team.

'What are they doing up here?' August wondered, narrowing his eyes. 'Shouldn't they be past the eighteenth floor or out on a deep-strata expedition? Why are they hanging around on the eleventh floor?'
