The loud noise from all the monsters gathering on the eleventh floor caught the attention of nearby Adventurer parties.
They dropped their current hunts and rushed to the eleventh floor. The Loki Familia mbers were among them.
"What an intense chorus of monster roars."
"Let's move."
Ais Wallenstein could tell that one of the caverns on the eleventh floor was in total chaos. She signaled for her team to follow.
"Just hearing all those roars... sothing is definitely wrong," Riveria Ljos Alf said as she strode beside her. She could feel how serious the situation was.
If lower-level Adventurers wandered down there right now, it would be pure suicide.
"You lot, keep up."
Riveria's main job as vice-captain was to help the rookies grow by guiding them through the floor trials. But this strange event was more urgent. She signaled to her Elven companions and the junior mbers to hurry toward the noise.
"Yes, ma'am!"
The junior mbers of the Loki Familia hurried to keep up with their senior executives.
The mont they stepped onto the eleventh floor...
They witnessed the most unbelievable scene.
The cavern was packed with a huge horde of monsters. Even experienced Level 4 or 5 Adventurers would be nervous seeing so many gathered here.
Was it a few dozen Level 1 monsters?
Not at all... They saw thousands of Silverback Apes and Hard Armored monsters, all charging at a single target.
Even the elite Loki Familia mbers felt a chill down their spines.
"Impossible... This isn't a normal horde anymore. This is a bona fide monster legion."
Riveria Ljos Alf was deeply shaken by the sight.
For top Adventurers, these monsters weren't much trouble. But for anyone below Level 3, a horde this size was unheard of and far too dangerous.
"Not just that. There are also eight Infant Dragons acting as support in the backline."
Ais Wallenstein quickly spotted the Infant Dragons among the monsters. Usually, they were very rare, but now it looked like the Dungeon was sending out a whole group at once.
The surrounding mbers of Loki Familia stared at the despair-inducing scene.
But the battlefield wasn't just loud with monster roars. The environnt was also filled with deafening gunfire and explosions.
"With this many monsters charging at once... could it be that monster rookie?"
"That sound... only that rookie fights like that."
For so of the well-inford Loki Familia mbers, this was their first ti seeing the rumored anomaly.
"IT HAS TO BE HIM!!"
Everyone's gaze shifted to a single spot.
It was the center of the monster horde.
Cutting through the monstrous roars, a human voice resounded powerfully across the massive cavern.
"Co on! Let's see which is stronger: your monstrous might, or the absolute pinnacle of human firepower!"
Behind August, bullets kept flying nonstop, as if he had endless ammo.
In the crowded cavern, the front lines of monsters were wiped out again and again, leaving only ash and Magic Stones.
Still, even facing such a terrifying enemy, the monsters charged at August without any fear, driven by pure Labyrinth-induced madness.
"August, the vanguard has breached the ten-ter mark!"
Liliruca Arde called out. She was acting as his spotter, keeping track of the distance.
"Ten ters?"
"How nerve-wracking."
August focused entirely on operating the armory within his [Spatial Backpack]. He stared at the tidal wave of monsters violently closing in on him.
To get past the last ten ters, countless monsters had to throw themselves forward, climbing over the bodies of their fallen allies just to move ahead.
"Continuing to use bullets is just a waste of ammunition."
"In that case, playti's over."
"Second wave."
August handed a heavy tactical headset over to Liliruca Arde.
Lili quickly put on the noise-canceling ear protection.
"Are you going to use that?" Lili asked, communicating through the built-in microphone.
The concussive shockwave at this close range would be as strong as a point-blank bombardnt of large-scale magic.
"Lili, keep your eyes glued to those Infant Dragons," August commanded, his fingers shifting into a new operational pattern.
The space around him began to warp.
So of the assault rifles disappeared into the void, while a few stayed to keep up suppressing fire.
For big targets like the Silverback Apes, which were much larger than humans, only high-explosive artillery shells could guarantee a kill.
"Ready... Fire!"
August swept his hand down.
Twenty massive cannon barrels extended from the void, locking onto the Silverback Apes.
Ten barrels fired simultaneously.
Taken straight from active-duty main battle tanks he had bought on Earth, these 125mm smoothbore cannons unleashed a devastating volley.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
The deafening roar of the tank cannons instantly drowned out the monsters' screams.
Wherever the shells landed, the Silverbacks were blown apart. The nearby Hard Armored monsters were destroyed by the blasts. Their tough armor was useless against the 125mm shells.
And these were just standard high-explosive shells—August hadn't even bothered deploying armor-piercing fin-stabilized discarding sabots (APFSDS) or specialized bunker-busters yet.
The sudden, massive blasts from the artillery seed to stop the horde in its tracks.
The surviving monsters stared at the ten huge, smoking craters in the stone floor. That was all that was left of the frontline.
The eight Infant Dragons leading the monsters froze. They hadn't expected their numbers to be wiped out so quickly by such powerful attacks.
But August's 125mm cannons weren't just for show.
Since they ca from modern tanks, the cannons had rapid autoloaders. With a second set of ten cannons waiting in the void, August kept up an alternating artillery barrage with less than a second between volleys.
Hearing the earth-shaking roar of the tank cannons up close and seeing the Silverback Apes destroyed was overwhelming for Liliruca Arde. The sights and sounds were almost too much for her.
At first, seeing the monster horde made her anxious. But now, with the artillery protecting her, Lili was speechless.
If August were to describe it using terms from his world...
Lili was now feeling the cure for 'Firepower Phobia.' All her fear and stress from facing so many enemies vanished, replaced by a strong sense of safety thanks to August's overwhelming firepower.
However, August's gaze didn't relax despite his dominant suppression.
"Are those guys really not making a move yet?"
Since Lili hadn't reported any movent from the Infant Dragons, August strongly suspected the beasts were plotting another underhanded sneak attack.
