Interrogation, questioning, examination, torture, and inquisition are all entirely different approaches.
Most of the ti, what ordinary people encounter is rely interrogation, possibly on the street or in a law enforcent agency.
Those officers would stare at you nacingly, asking you so routine questions.
Such as "Where were you at a certain ti?", "Who the hell can prove you’re not lying?", "How is your relationship with so-and-so" and the like.
They won’t hit you, let alone use any truth-inducing asures, just glaring at you with a seemingly fierce expression.
Then cos questioning, where the questions beco more detailed. Your uncooperative attitude might drive the interrogators mad, and then they might take inappropriate actions not ntioned in the Federation law enforcent manual.
But this process is still relatively safe, with the biggest threat being minimal physical conflict, and even that isn’t too severe.
In the examination phase, law enforcent officers already have so understanding of the laws you’ve violated, and they even hold key evidence.
What they need to do is to get you to voluntarily admit the cris you’ve committed.
Under such circumstances, the questions will have a very clear target, repeatedly questioning a few key issues.
They may apply pressure physically and massively increase psychological pressure, for instance, by inducing fatigue and creating fear, making you feel dood, thinking it’s better to confess than not to.
Actually, at this point, everything is still under "control"; you won’t be subjected to inhumane treatnt just because you keep your mouth shut.
But if you think torture and inquisition are similar, you are wrong, gravely wrong.
If the first three truth-seeking thods still retained so humanity, then torture and inquisition have lost it completely.
The first three thods seem to preserve a baseline of humanity between both parties, which the last two thods have utterly destroyed.
They will use every ans necessary to get answers. The portrayal of maintaining basic dignity for those being interrogated on TV is utterly...ridiculous.
What they do is destroy a person psychologically, physically, and even spiritually, yet keep him/her/it alive, to confess everything they’re interested in.
This is unbearable, not everyone can endure it; only those martyrs with national and people’s interest at heart can hold on to the end.
Without firm willpower and a tenacious spirit, an ordinary human cannot bear this.
Charlie, who was hung up and covered in bruises, had endured inhumane tornt throughout the night.
If not for the fear that this woman might suddenly die, she might have suffered more ans, but even so, she almost no longer resembled a human.
The room’s atmosphere beca more oppressive. Scarface needed a break, which was good news, giving Charlie a chance to breathe.
She gritted her teeth to survive, just to stay alive.
She knows pain and suffering, but she knows even better what fate awaits her if she speaks.
She could only persevere, hoping the Federation’s response would be faster.
In the dim light, Charlie could no longer hold on and fell asleep.
Her arms had long lost all sensation.
At this point, Scarface and his n were starting to reveal the stupidity of their actions.
At 8 PM that night, the President stood on the steps of the President’s Mansion, speaking the key phrases Lynch had ntioned in front of nurous dia, imdiately triggering panic and anger across the entire Federation Society.
These foreign ard forces brazenly entered Federation territory, attacking and harming Federation citizens, aiming to create a terrifying social atmosphere, coercing the Federation Governnt to yield to their demands, particularly political ones!
This is an obvious, despicable attempt at terrorism to challenge existing social order!
The President waved his fist, telling all Federation citizens that the Federation will not compromise, Federation people will not compromise; they will strike heavily to destroy all terrorist elents and masterminds attempting to harm Federation citizens and the Federation!
With a speech that wasn’t actually very long, the Federation people were left roused with passion, but this was not the end of the matter’s impact.
Because the next day, protests erupted in major cities once again.
Everything happened... very smoothly. The Workers’ Union and capitalists held urgent consultations; then, with the capitalists’ consent, a large number of workers began rallying for "Anti-International Terrorism."
They marched on the streets, holding up signs. In truth, they were far removed from the core and essence of these events, but they enjoyed a sense of empowernt from daring to fight back and wanted to persist.
The shift from "We protest" to "We will strike heavily" had a terrifying overall impact on Federation Society.
Behind each window stood Diplomats from other countries, watching the angry Federation citizens shaking their fists, feeling a chilling sensation from inside out.
This country is more terrifying than they imagined!
This is the first ti the Federation Governnt and the people of the Federation have shown such strong aggression. They demand to find those terrorists who committed the atrocity, demand to find those masterminds behind the scenes, demand to kill those people!
There are people holding signs saying "This is a war," and it is at this ti that these diplomats have just realized that the Federation, which preserved all its strength during the First World War, is more eager for war than any country or force internationally!
Yes, they are craving war.
The self-denial brought by being away from war during the First World War has begun to be re-examined after the policy changes throughout the country. They long for success, long for victory, long to beco the protagonist of the world.
It seems far from the lives of ordinary people, but in reality, it is very close.
Further intervention in international affairs brings various opportunities, which will soon be fully integrated into the entire society by upper-level capital groups, political groups, and interest groups through decomposition.
More branch institutions are born, more overseas opportunities, more promotion opportunities, more job opportunities...
All of this has a terrible impact on every ordinary person’s work and living environnt!
So countries have been deeply shocked by the sudden outbreak of protests, and so people feel chilled.
The Federation is far more terrifying than it appears!
Compared to those who are war-weary, the people here are more eager for war!
The President, Mr. Truman, and other Cabinet mbers are appreciating this parade.
They are well aware that this is the change brought by several consecutive victories in external military actions and continuous updates of military equipnt in recent years.
People are no longer afraid of war; instead, they are full of confidence and anticipation.
Mr. Truman held his wine glass and thought of Lynch’s words to him: the people of the Federation need victory, and soone needs to pay the price. If this is a flourishing age, then everything is as Lynch wished!
He is grateful to everyone for being born in a good era, and it has also spawned another desire that makes him tremble continuously.
He longs to beco the helm of this country; he longs to lead this country to a new peak.
The amber-colored liquid in the wine glass keeps rippling, those ripples collide with the glass wall and bounce back.
His hand is slightly trembling as he lifts the wine glass and drains the spirits in one go.
The spirits with added ice cubes initially do not bring an unpleasant taste, and the heat rising when it enters the abdon fills the body with strength!
anwhile, hundreds of Darkstone Security employees have entered the city where the event occurred.
Under the influence of the mobilization bill, they can now openly bear arms and interrogate targets they deem suspicious, and investigate and search buildings they find questionable.
Due to the President’s brief speech giving the case a definition, the state court directly approved a large number of blank search warrants and arrest warrants.
From the procedural perspective, this is obviously irregular, but during special tis, there are special thods. The Congress is also planning to use this incident as a prototype to push for new legislative changes. The main content is that during a "terror attack," law enforcent agencies can relatively bypass the complicated judicial process and handle matters simply.
After the case is solved, the procedures can be supplented.
In summary, Darkstone Security employees have entered the public’s sight in a special way for the first ti. They are no longer part of "external aggression" but angels protecting the safety of people’s lives and property!
Early in the morning, Scarface wiped his face and woke up from sleep. Sunlight penetrated through the not-so-thick curtains. It was a beautiful day.
He walked to the window, gently lifted a small part, and glanced outside. Imdiately, he beca tense.
He clapped his hands, called out the nas of his companions, and loaded his weapon.
Just now, he saw people from Darkstone Security.
They were standing at the door of a residence about forty or fifty ters diagonally across, and not just one family had their door knocked open by them. This filled Scarface with dread.
Soon, people woke up; they had endured high-intensity battles yesterday, suffered so injuries, and slept more soundly than usual.
"What’s wrong?" soone asked.
Scarface stood in the room with his hands on his hips, "Darkstone is on our trail, perhaps we’ve been exposed. Let’s find a way to handle the current situation first."
"Clean up the place, others move to the side hall, bring out the hoowner, then let...," his gaze swept over the remaining companions.
No one looked like an ordinary person; each had a face screaming "not to be ssed with." He sowhat reluctantly pointed to the only woman, "You go with them to deal with Darkstone’s people."
"If you can’t handle it, act directly!"
