Previously, Hal, who still possessed the Green Lantern Ring, sneaked into Wayne Manor only to be caught by Alfred. Aisha knocked the Green Lantern Ring off of him, and Dick ended up picking it up.
The crucial point here is how Aisha knocked off the Green Lantern Ring. As explained before, the Green Lantern ring is like a safety deposit box, which stores the Green Lantern energy.
Only a Lamp hero recognized by the Green Lantern ring can unlock this safety deposit box and extract the Green Lantern energy from within. This is part of the Green Lantern Ring's security lock.
Common people, who have not been approved by the ring, cannot open the deposit box or access its energy, even if they put on the ring. Generally, they also can't break the Green Lantern ring's security lock.
When Hal lost his ring, it was because he used his Green Lantern identity to pass the security lock's authentication and open the security box. At the mont he was about to take sothing out of it, Aisha bit his hand, and he dropped the ring-secure box.
However, by then, the box was already open, the power still transmitting outward. Hence, when Dick picked up the box, he could imdiately use the power of the Green Lantern, even though he had not cracked the security lock or been recognized by the ring. In this way, he gained so of the abilities of the Green Lantern.
After listening to Dick describe the entire process, Shiller figured out the underlying principle. The key in all this was Aisha.
For many years, the Green Lantern Corps has been running quite securely in the cosmos. It's rare to hear of so average person stumbling upon a ring and then wreaking havoc left and right.
Such accidents rarely occur mainly because the Green Lantern Ring has a comprehensive security lock chanism. As Hal previously explained, the ring won't fall off during the power transmission process, even if the Lamp hero tries to forcibly remove it.
The only exception to this is Aisha.
Aisha is essentially the physical embodint of the Yellow Lantern Beast, Parallax. Any material in the world could potentially conduct Green Lantern energy, with the sole exception of the other Lantern Beasts. Green Lantern energy would never be transmitted through Aisha's body.
When Hal opened the box and was about to retrieve sothing from inside, Aisha bit his arm, thus blocking off the Green Lantern's energy. At this point, the box was still wide open.
So, when the ring was knocked off, an open secure box appeared. Even soone like Dick, who had absolutely no willpower training, could use this energy.
Based on this principle, Shiller conducted an experint.
Willpower has no fixed standard, but in most cases, it is related to focus, endurance, and control over one's own emotions.
Different people have different levels of willpower in different situations. If you break Batman's leg, he might not even flinch. But if you were to tear apart a pearl necklace right in front of him...
Therefore, Shiller could et the standard of willpower required by the Green Lantern rely by switching between his different personalities. This was a simpler, more efficient thod.
Naturally, he called for a Green Lantern ring. However, unlike Batman, who refused to rely on external forces, Shiller saw no harm in wearing the ring that was already in his possession.
But rather than going on a killing spree after wearing the ring, Shiller, being a transmigrator characterized by his wisdom, chose to harness the ring's powerful energy factor instead.
After slipping on the Green Lantern Ring, Shiller used his willpower to unlock the safety deposit box. Then, he let Aisha grasp his arm to block the Green Lantern energy, before removing the ring. This way, he replicated Hal's situation; his Green Lantern Ring turned into an open box with its lock decoupled.
When the Green Lantern Ring was stuck, the energy kept leaking out, which is why Dick was able to activate its power the mont he picked up the ring. Shiller took advantage of this, directing the ring's energy into a Kryptonite crystal that had already been drained.
With this new material application, Shiller still adhered to his "colorway communication" theory stated earlier. The green energy of the Green Lantern is the sa color as the radioactive energy stored in Kryptonite. After Gray mist sucked out all its energy, the remaining colorless crystal acted as a container for the Green Lantern energy. As expected, it was a success.
However, Shiller didn't transfer all of the energy from the Green Lantern Ring into the Kryptonite crystal. He left a tiny bit of energy in it.
Because, as Hal said, the Green Lantern Ring has a security lock. When its energy becos critical, the ring will automatically return to the Lantern Furnace for recharge.
Although Hal's fallen ring couldn't return to recharge due to Dick barely able to control its energy, Shiller did not control his ring. Thus, the ring smoothly returned to the Lantern Furnace and got recharged.
However, this ring was neither lost nor reclaid by the Lantern, still belonged to Schiller Rodriguez. After it was fully charged, it returned to Shiller.
