Elsie suddenly had an idea. "Master, could it be the opponent you t was..."
Royer faintly smiled. "So you still rember that idiot, uh? Yes, he was the strongest I had ever killed, but he was also the perfect target for in my condition. Turns out even the fake could be used in the sa way."
Werkel was puzzled. "What are you talking about? How are you still fine?"
Royer looked at him and the others. "My race has one advantage. We are able to absorb other experts of the sa race to improve our condition and recover. It is a kind of cannibalism, but not sothing any of us would ever do lightly. That’s because there are many, many ways where this could go wrong."
Elsie nodded, continuing Royer’s words. "For us to be able to recover through the absorption of soone else from the sa race, the other part must first be completely willing to do so. Otherwise, trying such a thing would actually invite poison into our cores. Also, both sides must be at least in the Space-Ti Realm."
Royer looked back at the arena. "The opponent I t was soone from the sa race as . I won’t talk much about him since my association with that fella has nothing to do with you guys. What mattered was that even if it was fake, it still had all the characteristics of my race. And... the fact it was fake actually played in my favor."
Cafantrie guessed straight away. "It was fake, sothing without real consciousness and sentience. It had no desire or will. Thus, you were able to defeat your opponent and absorb it to recover, correct?"
"Pretty much," Royer nodded. Of course, the others still didn’t know that he was actually in a weakened state until he arrived at the Arena. But the good thing was that, just like Elsie, Royer had fought the guy before, and he knew his flaws very well. In the end, he managed to capture the fake expert and absorb it. Royer was back to his full power... although he still wouldn’t be able to use his Earth Shell manifestation. That one would indeed take ten years to beco available again.
"Alright, since you are feeling well, we have no reason to waste ti here anymore. Let’s move!" Lindiho spoke, already walking away.
"Let’s go." Roan, too, didn’t waste ti and followed. Soon, the group moved entirely.
The purple light of the arena region slowly disappeared, being replaced by darkness. At the crossing points between regions, it was already impossible to see anything ahead. Only the purple light of the arena region behind was discernable, but even that seed to be consud by the darkness in this place.
Everyone spread their Divine Senses, but they soon found even that was deeply affected in this region. They couldn’t see more than a few ters around.
*Murmur...*
"Uh? Did you say sothing?" Lindiho asked. He could swear Cafantrie had spoken just now, but he barely heard her at all.
Cafantrie did indeed talk, but she also only heard a murmur from Lindiho’s response. She quickly used her Divine Energy, increasing the power of her voice several tis. Only then did the others, who were pretty much by her side, hear her. "It seems like the sound is also dampened here. If you have to talk, add Divine Energy to your voice. Otherwise, use Divine Sense."
Lindiho finally understood, and he imdiately heard soone else.
"So that’s why you weren’t answering," Grititi was the one complaining. "I thought you were ignoring for a mont. Anyway, I asked if any of you here know what this region is about."
"Not ," Cafantrie shook her head.
"Sa here."
"And ."
"Never been here before."
Royer, Lindiho, and Werkel followed with the sa words.
"Alright, then we are going into it without knowing anything. Try to stick together, as our Divine Senses can’t go that far," Lindiho suggested, and everyone agreed.
Roan and Royer took a look into their dallions. Roan had tried to use the dallion they got from Lafanxa, but it simply didn’t seem to work. It probably had so protection that only allowed experts of the sa F949 Universe to make use of it.
-Eternal Darkness.-
Yet, there wasn’t even a riddle this ti, just two words. Roan and Royer looked at each other, both obviously confused.
’What does that an?’ Roan asked.
’I wish I had an answer for that.’ Royer didn’t know. ’But it should be a clue, right?’
They obviously told Rean and the others, only leaving out Grititi and the outsiders. Still, no one could figure out anything with so little information.
Rean then concentrated his Light Elent, creating a sphere of light. Unfortunately, it wasn’t of much use. Sure, it illuminated the surroundings... up to a few ters, no different from their Divine Senses’ ranges. Rean and Roan still had a slight advantage, as their much more powerful souls allowed their Divine Senses to spread around thirteen ters.
Rean narrowed his eyes and wondered if he should add the laws of Light to his sphere of light. Even when his group attacked the Hibiscuses in front of Werkel, they still didn’t show they could use laws.
’Just go for it,’ Roan comnted. ’They would be complete morons if they couldn’t guess we could do more than what our cultivation dictates. Werkel especially.’
Rean nodded, and his Major Laws of Light gathered around the light sphere. He could tell why it wasn’t possible to see much further. That was because the Laws of Darkness were being manipulated in this region. Thus, he had to use the Major Laws of Light to counter them.
Finally, Rean’s light spread several tis further, reaching about fifty ters.
Werkel and the others looked at that, turning in Rean’s direction. They were surprised to feel the laws Rean was controlling, but they didn’t lose their composure. "I very much wish to know how you can do that with your cultivation," Werkel faintly smiled.
"Hahaha!" Rean laughed. "Obviously, it was all thanks to my master."
Royer felt like crying. Once again, he beca the scapegoat for Rean and the rest. "Ahem... That’s to be expected of my disciple. Any less than that, and I would have given up on them already. All my disciples can use laws here in the Golden Palace."
Cafantrie couldn’t help but comnt. "You have a hell of a high standard..."
"I guess I do," Royer confird. "Forget that. Shall we speed up? We can see a little better ahead now."
"Yes," Lindiho was thinking the sa thing.
As to whether anyone believed Royer’s words, well, probably none of them did.
