Chapter 1375: Chapter 596: Pollution is Everywhere_2

The laughing Buddha urged them on, his chest marked with a bloodstained gash over a foot long, slashed by a thermoter.

It was just the admission process, and everyone was already exhausted. If we stay here, dying from torture seems inevitable.

“Go back and clean your wards, keep them tidy, stay quiet, and avoid doing anything that might irritate the nurses!”

Lin Baici instructed. Seeing further attempts to argue, his face darkened: “How can we act without any intel?”

“From now on, it looks like acting as proper patients is our only option. Maybe they’ll treat us a little better.”

“Enough. I don’t want to waste any more words. Get out!”

Lin Baici chased them away.

“Brother Lin’s annoyed. Just leave already!”

Su Manni approached, intending to shut the door.

Pony and his group gave Su Manni a glance, thinking to themselves, You’re sharing a ward with Lin Baici, close enough to reap benefits. Of course you’re not worried.

What about the rest of us?

But Lin Baici wasn’t in the mood to negotiate, so they had no choice but to leave.

Twenty minutes later, footsteps echoed in the hallway.

“Soone’s coming!”

Zheng Yu Huang darted to the door, cracked it open to take a peek.

“Holy shit!”

Zheng Yu Huang gasped and quickly shut the door.

“What’s wrong?”

Su Manni grew nervous.

“A dozen nurses are coming this way, and the lead one… She’s nearly two ters tall, with muscles that rival Batugel’s!”

Zheng Yu Huang whispered.

Everyone’s nerves tightened instantly.

[Get back to bed and lie down!]

“Quickly, lie on your beds, and don’t disturb the covers!”

Lin Baici ordered.

Everyone obeyed.

Soon, the ward door swung open, and nurses entered in single file. Leading them was one dressed in a white tail-hat—the head nurse.

She stood close to two ters tall, her bulging muscles stretching her nurse’s uniform to its limit.

The nurses behind her were all dressed in identically white uniforms, with white slippers on their feet, though their stockings varied—pink, white, and black!

“Hello!”

Zheng Yu Huang forced a smile, sitting up straight and preparing to stand.

He rembered Lin Baici’s earlier approach to handling the nurse at the station—simple and effective. If he went first this ti, it should be safe, right?

“What’s your illness?”

The head nurse queried: “How many days have you been here?”

“…”

Zheng Yu Huang froze. He’d intended to say “no illness,” but rembered how Elder Zhou had his limbs broken for saying those very words. Swallowing his response, he changed tack.

“I don’t know!”

Zheng Yu Huang stamred: “I just arrived!”

“Don’t know?”

The head nurse scrutinized him: “Then let’s run a full-body examination—blood work, urinalysis, chest CT, abdominal ultrasound!”

“…”

Zheng Yu Huang’s entire being froze upon hearing that. Earlier, just blood tests and pressure asures had nearly finished him off; if subjected to this whole set of exams, he’d undoubtedly be destroyed.

Zheng Yu Huang shot a pleading look at Lin Baici.

Lin Baici offered no comfort.

“Fuck!”

Zheng Yu Huang cursed his own curiosity, lanting his loose tongue.

“The floor looks clean enough. Be mindful not to dirty or rip the bedding!”

The head nurse stepped further into the ward to inspect cleanliness. She swiped her finger along the windowsill and caught dust, quickly becoming displeased: “You, co lick it clean!”

“Huh?”

Zhao Qing froze.

“Huh, what? Quick, co over!”

The head nurse commanded.

Zhao Qing glanced back at Lin Baici.

As soon as the nurses saw her hesitate, two imdiately approached, prepared to force her to the windowsill.

Zhao Qing panicked, rushing forward: “Can I wipe it instead?”

“No!”

The head nurse rejected coldly. She then entered the bathroom, lifting the toilet lid for inspection: “Urine stains—filthy. Soone co lick this clean too!”

The faces of Big Sweet Sister’s group instantly stiffened.

At that mont, Zhao Qing—mid-licking the windowsill—began thinking that her bad luck wasn’t so bad after all. At least a windowsill was cleaner than a toilet.

Tang Keke wasn’t so fortunate. Her bed was positioned nearest to the bathroom. Two nurses grabbed her arms and dragged her inside.

The head nurse seized Tang Keke by the arm and hair, pressing her face against the toilet seat.

“One minute—if it’s not clean, I’ll peel your skin off and use it as a rag!”

The head nurse sneered.

Tang Keke wept, extending her tongue to lick the toilet.

Whimpering sounds:

So disgusting!

Big Cousin, help !

“Too slow!”

The head nurse pushed Tang Keke’s head further, rubbing her face against the toilet seat like a rag, swiping it twice before letting go and exiting.

“Overall, it’s decent. Maintain it!”

The head nurse prepared to leave but paused near the door: “Why hasn’t the information on the bedside card been filled out?”

Imdiately, one of the nurses approached with a pen and completed the form.

Lin Baici glanced at it: Intensive care-level nursing, food section marked as liquid diet, aning only porridge for als and regular IV nutrient supplentation.

The higher the level of care, the more scrutinized one gets. It was obvious that this ant even more exams—in this hospital, exams were synonymous with tornt.

The others got similar treatnt.

As the nurse finished filling out the bedside card and exited last, Zheng Yu Huang quickly shut the door.

“Big Cousin, co up with sothing quick!”

Zheng Yu Huang was panicking: “If I get the full set of tests, how can I manage?”

[Be bold; drop ‘how’—you’re guaranteed to lose your life!]

“Tang Keke, co out!”

Lin Baici yelled.

Tang Keke didn’t erge; she clung to the toilet, vomiting incessantly as tears and mucus stread down her face.

Today’s ordeal would remain the darkest mory of her life.

Zhao Qing also rushed into the bathroom, gripping the sink tightly as she retched.
