“You cheated!”
Ery accused.
Through the Eyes of the Star God, Raphael saw the human-head deity draw the Diamond Ace, but upon rifling through the deck, couldn’t find the Diamond Ace.
“If your magic has failed, admit it honestly, and I’ll spare your life!”
The human-head deity retaliated.
“I haven’t failed; the deck is missing a card.”
Ery turned the cards face up, fingers flicking through them, swiftly searching for the Diamond Ace.
“Give the cards, I’ll find it for you!”
The human-head deity reached out for the cards.
“No way!”
Ery evaded, fearing that if the deity touched the cards, it would cheat beyond his control—wait…
What if it possesses Divine Grace allowing it to manipulate cards without touching them?
Careless!
Large beads of sweat instantly sprang up on Ery’s forehead.
“We concede!”
Raphael interjected, he stated that admitting defeat would spare Ery’s life, and in Raphael’s view, this transaction was worth making.
Continued stalemate would certainly cost Ery dearly.
But it was too late!
Ery’s hand froze as the card revealed happened to be the Diamond Ace.
Considering the impending contamination-induced death, Ery’s mind went blank for a mont, but soon after, he forced himself to calm down.
‘There’s still a chance to save this!’
Ery displayed a forlorn expression and began reciting lines: “I lost; you can control the cards in my hand from a distance? How did you do it?”
By the end, Ery’s tone was admiration; his expression was of respect, as if he were awed by the human-head deity’s magical skills, already a devoted fan.
“Mortals cannot comprehend this!”
The human-head deity smiled confidently, “Killing you ans you’ll never witness my great magic.”
Upon finishing, the human-head deity touched the playing cards in Ery’s hand with its index finger.
The cards instantly flew up, sticking to Ery like tiles, quickly wrapping him into a mummified state, exposing only his eyes, nose, and mouth, while the rest was covered by cards.
Ery turned into a paper person, or more aptly, a paper figurine.
“Ah…”
The tight pressure and wrapping sensation made Ery feel as though he’d been cramd into a narrow sewer pipe, unable even to move a finger.
He wanted to shout from discomfort, but his vocal cords were compressed by the playing cards, only emitting so hums.
Having dealt with Ery, the human-head deity looked at the Europa people, preparing to choose another.
“In my lifeti, I’ve never seen a ga where the judge competes.”
Kreiser, being a seasoned veteran Dragon Level powerhouse, wouldn’t back down when needed: “In a magic show, whether one fails or impresses is dictated by you, where’s the fairness in that?”
The human-head deity was baffled, then looked at the others: “Do you all think so?”
Ian and the others avoided the human-head deity’s gaze, but Raphael didn’t.
“Yes!”
Raphael challenged, “You can’t be both the perforr and the judge; regardless of how impressive you might be, if he erred, have you considered he might not have the intellect to comprehend your brilliance?”
“What you should do is tell him what makes your magic exceptional, not punish him!”
“Using the threat of death, you’ll never earn the audience’s most sincere praise!”
The human-head deity remained silent.
“Is it possible this human-head deity is being talked into confusion?”
Li Yintong muttered.
“In truth, the best developnt is to accompany this deity, watch its magic performances, and as long as you play along, there shouldn’t be major issues!”
The seasoned fish ball seller spoke.
Simply put, everyone is an attentive helper, trying to entertain, with the deity happy, the likelihood of contamination is greatly reduced.

Instead of providing a standard, the human-head deity directly ceased playing.
This made Kreiser inwardly curse.
Sure enough, the next second, the human-head deity’s eyes shone brightly like spotlights, illuminating the abandoned factory under the cloud cover as though countless flashbangs had been deployed.
