Capítulo 1113: Chapter 96: A Cal (Part 2)
“Margaret rarely makes mistakes, the clue should be nearby.”
“Pa ji… Pa ji…”
Mikhail glanced at Chun, who was expressionlessly looking at the ground, and said sowhat speechlessly,
“…Can’t we stop ntioning Margaret?”
Chun’s outstretched palm paused slightly, then with a slight confusion, he raised his head to look at Mikhail before lowering his head again,
“This has nothing to do with her, but the fact is, due to the power of the Weaver, she rarely makes mistakes.”
“Pa ji… Pa ji…”
Mikhail said no more, but his subtle expression had already betrayed his thoughts at that mont. Chun, the Elf, though a mber of the Mythical Species, seed quite dull in social interactions and emotions, which amused Mikhail, making his originally unwilling overti seem a bit brighter.
“I say, you two, talking on and on, did neither of you notice any sound here?”
It was Hooked Kiss behind them who couldn’t stand it anymore, pointing at the direction Fisher was looking at, only to see a cal’s face unexpectedly erging among the man-high plants not far from them.
“Pa ji… Pa ji…”
The cal just stood among the plants, biting off the pea-sized black fruits growing on the plants next to it, munching while smacking its lips, uncertain whether it heard Chun and Mikhail’s conversation or the berries were just too delicious. Fisher kept feeling that the cal’s face always carried a mischievous and provoking smile.
“Cal?”
“That cal isn’t right, my powers haven’t detected it.”
Chun squinted his eyes, but as soon as he spoke, Fisher saw the playful smile on the cal’s face instantly vanish. It swallowed the berry it was chewing in one gulp, then turned and ran away into the distance.
Because of its turning and running, the adjacent plants were pushed aside, allowing Fisher to see clearly that it was a fairly striking tall cal among cals. Though he wasn’t sure if it was a species unique to this place, its back had only one hump, and it carried leather saddlery adorned with snake-like patterns.
“Gulu gulu gulu!”
“That’s the cal they use to transport goods.”
Fisher recognized the purpose of the cal, and Hooked Kiss was about to follow it to see where it was headed, only to find Chun beside him suddenly gesturing with his hand. Then, visible vines rose from the ground with an irresistible force, easily capturing the fleeing cal.
“Gulu gulu!”
The cal cried out and struggled desperately, but of course, it couldn’t resist the power of the Mythical Species and was swiftly dragged back in front of the four n.
Chun gestured again, firmly controlling the cal in front of him, while the other three moved closer to examine the cal, which looked quite decent. Fisher was curious about how this creature eluded the attack of the Mythical Species, and while scrutinizing it, he noticed it suddenly began shaking its head and humming, emitting lodious and captivating tunes,
“Hum~ Hum~ Hum~”
While humming the song, it anthropomorphically rested its head on the ground with an extrely pitiful expression directed at Fisher and the others, seemingly pleading for rcy.
“Hey, this creature is clever, it can even sing, quite lodious…”
Hooked Kiss stroked the single hump on its back, smiling as he spoke.
anwhile, Mikhail checked its other parts, took a few seconds to raise his head, and said to the others,
“It’s a female.”
“…”
“Humji! Humji! Humji!”
Seemingly understanding Mikhail’s words, the cal suddenly began struggling fiercely again, but luckily Chun, unfazed, quickly pressed down on its belly,
“Don’t move.”
With his soft command, a faint purple light soon seeped into the cal’s body, gradually revealing the outline of an item resembling a bell in its belly.
Upon seeing the bell, everyone present frowned, clearly recognizing what that item was.
“This is… a Holy Object?”
Mikhail’s earlier lackadaisical work mood instantly vanished. As a human who had lived alongside the Forge Angel Leader Michael for a long ti, moreover being an engineer before his transfer, he couldn’t help but know a lot about these things.
He observed the Holy Object seriously, then after a second or two shook his head and said,
“It is indeed a Holy Object, but not a complete one. It seems more like a semi-finished product. The Gospel has been attached, but it’s very unstable, which could cause the effect of the Holy Object not to be as the Forge intended or might not reach the expected level. If an Angel forged this, it’s likely a defective piece… But the issue is, how did such a thing end up in this cal’s belly, growing together with it?”
Hooked Kiss’s eyes flashed with an indistinct light, but just as he squinted examining the bell’s outline in the belly, the cal suddenly tilted its head towards Fisher,
