“Glug glug glug!”
“This fellow seems to be pointing the way for us…”
Chun nodded and then gently released the seemingly very clever drodary cal. Though it seed a bit silly, he still spoke to the cal,
“Where did you eat this thing? Tell .”
“Hum~ hum~ hum~”
The cal quickly nodded and didn’t forget to hum a lodious tune, seemingly expressing its gratitude.
Then it wagged its tail and strolled towards a plant-covered direction, occasionally looking back at Chun and the others to make sure they were following.
Fisher watched the singing, route-leading drodary cal and suddenly felt that this thing might very well suit the taste of that mischievous angel Helair. She not only liked singing but also seed to enjoy wandering around, making her appear very out of place compared to other angels in the Holy Land.
But he quickly realized that he had recalled this fellow for the second ti within just half an hour after leaving her.
This made the smile Fisher had just raised slowly disappear; he even began to suspect whether this fellow had cast so curse on him. Clearly, he had always wanted to stay far from her, only rembering her when satisfying desires…
Perhaps because of the unabashed ntal possessiveness she spoke of? Maybe because the Seventh Heaven promised with her was approaching, making him feel sowhat desperate? Or maybe, this angel was indeed annoyingly sweet?
“Glug glug glug!”
While Fisher subconsciously covered the Seal left by Renie on his waist, oddly repenting, the tall cal quickly led them through layers of plants, getting closer and closer to the coast before stopping and gently calling out to Fisher and the others.
Fisher and the others ca up behind it, swiftly discovering a snake person in leather armor, long dead, lying in the dense vegetation. A weapon was sticking into his body, which had been deford from so trendous force, looking like a critical battle that led to an attack.
But clearly, this was not where he was initially attacked.
“He was killed while escaping, face-down on the ground, struck in the back. The caravan was attacked at the trading path where we just stood; this snake person tried to survive by riding the cal and abandoning the goods to escape, but he was ultimately caught. Because he ran too far, the people from the Kakafu Tribe who ca later did not find his corpse.”
Fisher squatted down to look at the cruelly deceased male snake person, checking his body, finding it stripped clean except for the lethal weapon.
“Is that it? No clues left?”
Mikhail stroked his chin, questioning.
But Fisher, squatting on the ground, shook his head. The nearby cal kept nudging him with its head, seemingly trying to tell him sothing, but Fisher already had a vague idea,
“No, this cal ate that bell beside him. The person killed was in a low position, so nobody noticed his escape and subsequent death. Yet he still had such a precious thing as a Holy Object, which wasn’t his but stolen from the goods he was transporting… The Kakafu settlent doesn’t just sell sugar and salt; they also sell angelic Holy Objects.”
Fisher turned to Chun, clearly looking a bit puzzled,
“Does this have anything to do with your Holy Land?”
“Who knows, anyhow, it’s none of our concern…”
Mikhail shook his head, just about to say sothing, but Hooked Kiss beside him raised a hand to pat him, signaling him not to speak.
He only looked up towards the direction ahead, raised a hand to point over there, seeing an endless desert revealing a vast blue at its edge, and that blue glistened under the slightly westward sun, while the sound of human activity faintly ca from that distant direction.
That is the Snake-man settlent of the Kakafu Tribe.
