124: 43.

Elder Princess_2 124: 43.

Elder Princess_2 “Hmph, I’m not even sure if you’re the true Kado Saintess.

I have every reason to suspect you’re a spy and a cheat.”

Renie sipped her red wine and, turning her purple eyes to Elizabeth, smiled and said,

“The more tactics like these you use, Princess, the clearer it becos that you can’t compete with and win fair and square.

After all, you threaten like this, or threaten other ladies, simply because Fisher just doesn’t like you.”

At these last words, Elizabeth’s gentle pupils slightly contracted as if a raw wound had been rcilessly torn open.

“I know best who Fisher is fond of.

When it cos to the one he adores, he is sincere and very patient, but you can’t feel that, can you…

Do you think, Princess, by severing his connection with Nali and the other ladies, by letting everyone know about your ambiguous relationship with him to keep them at bay, that he will end up choosing you in the end?”

Renie’s smile was languid, seemingly not fully engaged in the debate, but every single sentence was a knife twisting relentlessly into Elizabeth’s heart without intention of being removed.

But how could Elizabeth retort?

Others might not be aware, but didn’t she herself, the person involved, know very well?

Their polite distance toward each other, and her own inability to ardently pursue him due to the royal family’s dignity, had led them to this stalemate at twenty-eight years old.

What then, thirty years old?

Forty?

Fifty?

Until death?

Elizabeth could always endure, but Fisher had apparently reached his limit, otherwise he wouldn’t have been with other won…

“You…

think you’ve won?”

At this thought, the void in Elizabeth’s eyes slowly dissipated, revealing the monstrous terror hidden beneath, a side of her that she showed for the first ti in front of others.

She vaguely felt that the lady before her was no simple opponent and should not be taken lightly.

“What I want will surely be mine, even if he himself is unwilling.”

Renie’s smile grew wider, her purple eyes calmly reflecting Elizabeth’s figure, but she seed to not take her opponent seriously at all,

“Might I suggest, Princess, that sotis letting go is a good choice.

You might end up with a better outco.”

After these words, the situation in the Octagonal Arena was essentially settled.

Elizabeth was completely outmatched by Renie, left speechlessly defeated.

But Renie no longer paid her any heed; instead, she suddenly turned to look ahead.

She seed to have spotted sothing, smiling cordially at the gentleman coming toward her with a speechless expression—it was Fisher returning.

Thus, the two ladies instantly returned to their previous poise and grace.

In fact, Renie barely changed, but in front of Fisher, she beca much livelier.

“I’ve just had quite a discussion with the Princess about so interesting matters regarding Nali, things you’ve never told before.”

Fisher turned to the quietly smiling Elizabeth beside him, who nodded in response,

“Yes, I’ve also learned so secrets about Kado.

You can’t co by such knowledge in the Golden Palace.”

“Is that so, Princess?

Let’s move on with the event,” he said.

Elizabeth’s gentle golden eyes swept across Fisher’s face, the void hiding her true thoughts, leaving only that flawless, angelic smile visible.

She nodded, this ti not taking Fisher’s hand, and then proceeded with him to give a greeting at the next event.

Princess’s schedule was still packed, and by the ti it approached the afternoon, Elizabeth had to bid farewell and head elsewhere.

Fisher had accompanied her all the way to the school gate, where Isabella and the others had co as well.

Several squads of Royal Soldiers lined up at the entrance, with the Royal Carriage standing steadily in front of the school, clearly a display of grandeur.

At this mont, other parents were required to wait inside and were forbidden from entering or leaving at the sa ti.

“Isabella, rember to study hard.

I believe that with Mr.

Fisher’s instruction, you will certainly beco very excellent.”

Isabella stole a glance at Professor Fisher standing beside her and couldn’t help but think of his strict classroom deanor.

For a mont, her little face was about to sour, but thankfully she didn’t forget the Royal etiquette and still managed to force a smile and nodded in agreent.

Elizabeth approached the opened carriage door, followed only by Fisher, who prepared to help her into the carriage.

At this mont, the distance between them closed, and their conversation was audible only to each other.

Renie hadn’t co out, so Elizabeth didn’t get to see that annoying black-haired lady here.

Thus, she turned to look at Fisher beside her and saw him, without any breach of etiquette, performing a bow to her, the Princess, which cast a shadow over her heart.

She still reached out her hand to Fisher, and under his sowhat unexpected gaze, she helped straighten the collar of his coat that had beco sowhat disheveled from the day’s activities.

“Thank you, Your Highness.”

“You…” Elizabeth silently withdrew her hand, her gaze tinged with sadness,

“Do you hate that much, Fisher?”

Fisher’s eyes flickered before he raised his head to look at the Princess before him.

He saw that she was also looking at him, looking at the man behind the veneer of etiquette.

Now that it was just the two of them, Fisher took a second to ponder, also weary of the elaborate formalities before her.

“You’re still holding onto what I did in the past, aren’t you?”

That matter involved events at the Royal College, where she had once given a female classmate, who attempted to pursue Fisher, a severe “warning,” which almost drove that lady to the brink of breakdown.

No one knew at the ti who had done it, nor would anyone suspect that the elder princess was the culprit.

On the surface, the elegantly-mannered Princess actually had a style of conduct quite contrary to her appearance, which was the real reason behind Fisher’s estrangent from Elizabeth.

“Your Highness…”

“I didn’t understand before, but now I do.

If that’s the case, would you give a chance?”

Elizabeth now overly clung to Fisher’s sleeve.

Her words, ridden with such a lower stance as a mber of the Royal Family, indeed packed a strong punch.

Fisher, however, just gazed directly at her.

“Your…”

The atmosphere suddenly fell silent.

While it was Elizabeth who sought an answer, when Fisher was about to respond, she extended her hand, stopping him from delivering his answer.

Elizabeth smiled at Fisher and put her hat back on her golden hair, covering her features once again.

“Thank you for today, and rember the matter I ntioned to you before, we’ll et again later.”

She returned to the gentle deanor of the elder princess, continuing the ambiguous relationship with Fisher that had been unresolved for so many years, even though there had indeed been a mont just now when she might have gotten an answer.

That answer could have been good or bad, but after all, she didn’t dare wager on it.

She was ready to depart in the carriage.
