125: 44.

Completely different 125: 44.

Completely different The afterglow of the setting sun stretched behind, like a violin drawing long and lodious shadows on the ground.

The sky above the school darkened as evening approached, so people started lighting lamps on the ground, making a poor imitation of the sun’s spectrum.

The environnt was noisy, and Fisher sat on a long bench at the school’s entrance, surrounded by many students and parents heading towards the center of the school, ready to celebrate one of the few festivals of Saint Nali year.

However, Fisher hadn’t moved because, at that mont, a lady with black hair, wearing a black dress, had quietly taken a seat on the bench next to him.

Wrapped in a faint scent, Fisher turned his head, just in ti to see her purple eyes smiling at him.

They locked eyes for a mont before Fisher suddenly reached out and flicked Renie’s forehead, causing her to cover her head and step back, looking at Fisher with so annoyance, fearing he would flick her again.

“What are you doing?”

“Weren’t you supposed to wait for at ho, how co you followed here?”

Renie got quite angry, and coupled with the flick to her forehead from Fisher, she grabbed his sleeve, wanting to give him a taste of her iron fist,

“The nerve you have, if I hadn’t followed you, would you have gone to celebrate the festival with the elder princess and left at ho?

I feel like I’m the wife kept in the dark by her husband, ignorant of the outside world…

Oh, how wronged I feel, to be spoken to like this…”

“Don’t start with ; I knew when I left ho that you would surely follow quietly, although I didn’t expect Elizabeth to co over.”

“Oh, you kept calling her ‘Your Highness’ at the ti, but now in front of , it’s just ‘Elizabeth’ huh?

You truly are a bad man, but Sister here really likes that.”

She smiled seductively, her fingertip lightly tracing across Fisher’s chest, and Fisher, feeling sowhat superior, was in just the right position to see her pursed red lips, which also reminded him of how it felt to kiss her in the morning.

Now he also wanted to kiss those endlessly mischievous lips, always curved into a teasing smile.

“There was nothing to hide, whether you ca or not.”

Renie pouted and poked Fisher’s hand, saying,

“The person trying to catch a cheater might not be right, huh?

What if it wasn’t the elder princess but…

the Dragon Lady?”

Fisher caught her mischievous hand, but the mont he caught it, she virtualized and pulled away, clearly having learned from her morning lesson, fearful that Fisher would suddenly kiss her hand…

in fact, she couldn’t handle Fisher kissing her anywhere.

She moved to the other side of the bench and made a cute, cheeky face at Fisher before suddenly thinking of sothing that saddened her.

She looked at Fisher with considerable worry,

“Do you like those girls who co from wealth and power?

But I don’t have much money; all I have is myself.

So I feel inferior in front of those girls, even so, will you still firmly choose ?”

Her purple eyes trembled as she blinked, seemingly quite concerned about her own identity.

She wiped the corners of her eyes and said, sowhat sadly,

“I wish I really were the Holy Maiden of Kado Holy Cathedral; if that were true, I could compete with the Princess openly and aboveboard.

Indeed, while I may not care on the surface, deep down, I do care about status.”

“Otherwise, lend all your money now, and I will go to Kado or Schwali to start a business.

Once I’m wealthy and beco one of the top entrepreneurs, I’ll co back and marry you…

Oh my, the story of a loyal and powerful female entrepreneur and a handso scholar excites just thinking about it.”

Fisher watched the suddenly excited Renie and promptly doused her enthusiasm,

“I don’t have money.”

Renie puffed up her cheeks, thinking of coming over to poke him in annoyance but also cautious of being caught, so she mid a pistol with her hand and ‘shot’ at Fisher, trying to express her dissatisfaction this way.

“Such a bad man you are; if I run out of money and end up dying sowhere on the streets, you will regret it.”

“Hmm, if you run out of money, I guess I’ll reluctantly lend you a place to stay.

You eat little, so you’re affordable to keep.”

Renie didn’t answer for a mont but instead, a pleased smile spread across her lips,

“Ah, I didn’t expect you to be quite the charr, Fisher.

That line earlier gets eight out of ten from ; I like you best when you’re like that.

But aren’t you going to look for the Undead Witch anymore?”

Her black hair lifted slightly, the pleasant fragrance seemingly tangible as it stirred Fisher.

He turned his head to look at Renie, feeling that she was teasing and playing with him, and enjoying it.

“I do want to find her; if only you were her, then I wouldn’t have to bother searching.”

Renie touched her lips, looking troubled, as if she wanted to relieve Fisher of his worries,

“I wish I was her too, but I’m really not, you know.

But I’ll keep helping you look for her, rest easy, and I promise to complete the mission!”

Fisher smiled and no longer pressed her about the matter of the Undead Witch.

Instead, he caught certain words in her speech and asked,

“So you’re going back to Kado to find your family?”

“Hmph, I had already left, you know.

If it weren’t for a certain man who fancies breaking ladies’ hearts inviting , I wouldn’t have co back.

After this trip, you probably won’t be able to get in touch with for a while.”

“Can’t get in touch with you?

Why, where are you going?”

Renie smirked and said,

“It’s a secret…

But if you beg , I’ll tell you.”

Fisher looked down at her, at her bad yet cute deanor, wanting him to beg her.

Suddenly, he leaned down and gently kissed the corner of her mouth, careful not to let her escape, so Fisher pecked her lightly, like a dragonfly skimming water.

Afterward, Fisher sat back, calmly watching her smirk freeze, slowly turn into disbelief, and the blush spread from her pale neck, until after a second or two, she covered her mouth and stepped back with an air of anger and frustration.

“Fisher!

You’re so annoying!

If you keep this up, I’ll stop speaking to you!”

“Yes, yes, yes.”

Fisher didn’t want to inquire too deeply.

There were many things she was doing and secrets she was keeping that Fisher hadn’t yet discovered, but just at that mont, he suddenly didn’t feel the urgency to do so.

Seeing Fisher act like he had everything under control, Renie sneakily floated up to hit him on the head.

After tapping twice, she tidied up the hair that had beco disheveled because of her action, still sulking and looking very angry.

Just then, a wobbly, semi-transparent paper airplane suddenly appeared at the edge of the sky.

The paper airplane was surrounded by a faint magical Light Halo, and when it finally landed near Fisher did it fully reveal its true form—it was the sa ssenger that Fisher had sent to Carlo that morning.

It seed the Hart Bird had already delivered the ssenger for his normal use.

Fisher glanced at the letter hanging from the paper airplane, probably asking when he would explain the plan to him.

Fisher already had a rough idea about the visiting group, and now he should think about Pink Hall and that Carlo matter.

He had a vague feeling that there was more behind this issue than t the eye.

Turning to Renie, he saw her covering her nose and retreating a good distance away, as if she found the sll on the envelope particularly repugnant.

Could it be that witches are very sensitive to the scent of Artificial Witches?

“Burn that thing quickly, it stinks!”

“Got it.”

Fisher used the magic from his Handcane to burn the letter in his hand, then tucked the paper airplane back into his chest, to use it for sending replies later.

After the matter was resolved, Fisher put on his gentleman’s hat and took the Handcane in his palm.

Glancing at the brilliantly lit school with its bustling festival celebration, he felt no desire to join in.

Instead, he turned back to Renie and reached out his hand as if to suggest she should lay her hand on the crook of his arm.

His expression was serious and unreadable as he said to the raven-haired lady,

“I promised you this morning.

Shall we go watch a play now?”

Renie’s purple eyes were filled with the reflection of the handso gentleman before her.

She smirked, tapped her lips, and then slowly rose to rest her hand on the crook of his arm, letting her scent mingle with his body unabashedly claiming him.

“Hmph, in light of your invitation to the play, I shall reluctantly agree to your request.”

Though her words suggested reluctance, the mont her hand touched him, Fisher also felt the lady subtly pinch the muscle in the crook of his arm.

Seriously, is there a standard operating procedure for all you ladies’ gestures?

Fisher was puzzled, but this ti he pinched back at her soft hand in retaliation.

Then she pinched him back and sent a warning with her purple eyes not to pinch her too hard, even though she could pinch herself.

Such a double-standard, Miss Witch.

“By the way, when I said I wanted to borrow money from you, that was true.

The return on investnt is one hundred percent.

After I make money, I’ll return to Nali to marry you.”

“Investnts with excessively high returns are scams; I think you’ll take my money and run away.”

“Really?

How could I scam you out of your money, Fisher?

You don’t trust …

And even if I did take off with your money, you would still have , this beautiful lady—no loss, only gains.”

“Heh.”

“You truly are an annoying man, Fisher.”
