Capítulo 1253: Paimon’s Library

“Buzzzzz!”

In so unknowably deep, unknowably pitch-black lower layer of darkness, with a strange ripple flashing past, a perfectly square book suddenly appeared in midair, as if it had just crossed over from sowhere, and began to fall toward the darkness ahead.

“Oww-ow-ow!”

The book that was tumbling in midair managed, with great difficulty, to twist itself over, doing everything in its power to stop itself from continuing to plumt. Even so, the “face” on its cover—nothing but a single eye—was looking around nervously and warily into the surrounding darkness, as if trying to assess the environnt.

After sensing the overwhelmingly scorching heat here and that dense, terrifying aura, even he, a re book, couldn’t help shrinking back a little in fright.

“The great Sir Emhardt really pulled it off! I did it, I really ca here through that Gate I discovered earlier! The legendary Demon Dynasty where the Demons reside… I can already sll so many enticing scents. Is it over there?”

Yes, at this mont, the book that had entered this bottomless Abyss was none other than Sir Emhardt.

Before this, he had already been wandering across the surface world for a very, very long ti. He only rembered that he was a Creation of so great Holy Descendant, and he knew about the concept of the Holy Land, but for so reason, whenever he tried to recall any concrete images or mories, his mind would turn blurry and indistinct, as if soone had violently torn all of it away.

Having lost his mories, Emhardt had road and searched throughout the mortal world for a long ti, hoping to find even the tiniest clue about the Holy Land and the Holy Descendants of the past, but regrettably, his gains were not particularly abundant.

But earlier, in an extrely Hidden ruin on the South Continent, he had found a teleportation Gate left behind by so Demon Servants. It was broken, yes, but that kind of thing could never stump the world’s smartest and wisest Holy Object, Emhardt.

Legend said that Demons were ancient beings on par with the Holy Descendants. If he could find the Demon Dynasty where they lived, there would definitely be records related to the Holy Land there.

After expending the strength of nine bulls and two tigers, Emhardt finally repaired that teleportation Gate and used it to transport himself here.

Emhardt stayed behind a protrusion in the rock wall, using those natural bulges as cover, and in this way he descended, layer by layer, ter by ter, down into the dark, scorching Abyss below.

“Don’t be afraid, great Sir Book, the Demons have all been sealed up by the Mother Goddess. They can’t do anything, right, that’s right, that’s how it is… As long as I follow the scent of knowledge to find what I’m looking for, everything will be fine…”

He kept cheering himself on inwardly, and as he dropped lower, the scene at the bottom end of that deep rock shaft finally smashed into his line of sight.

He saw that beyond the bottom of this vertical cavern lay an incredibly vast space—who knew how large exactly—but it was like a boundless Sea of Magma spread out beneath him. Above that Sea of Magma, sparsely scattered, stood a few buildings of extrely bizarre shape. They had no sense of symtrical beauty whatsoever, twisted and chaotic like whirlpools of Chaos that made one’s heart feel restless just looking at them.

And most importantly, Emhardt could vaguely make out, beneath the magma, one Fire Pillar after another bound in place, and in the heart of each pillar slept a shadow whose re aura made him feel utterly terrified.

Those were… the bodies of the Demons?

Only now did Emhardt realize that this Sea of Magma seed to be so kind of terrifying confinent. Looking more closely, he saw the magma’s eddies constantly twisting, unconsciously forming symbols that represented a power that would never fade: “∞”

“Ha… just as expected, this whole group of Demons is sealed…”

The space below was deathly silent, as if there wasn’t a trace of life. It seed that, just as he had learned beforehand, all the Demons were basically done for now, and absolutely no one was here to care what he did!

After carefully observing for a long ti, Emhardt finally grew confident and boldly jumped down from the rock shaft above.

Now, he was going to track down where that delicious fragrance of knowledge was coming from.

Emhardt floated above the magma, struggling to search for his target amid sulfur and so kind of burnt stench, but for the greatest Sir Book in the world, none of this was a problem.

Ha, there it is!

He quickly found the corresponding clue at one of the buildings on the Sea of Magma.

Unlike the other utterly chaotic structures, this building looked perfect even to Emhardt’s extrely picky aesthetic sense. It had two levels, upper and lower, ford by two constantly rotating layers, inner and outer, like an abstract eye, and also like a whirlpool in the Ocean—beautiful.

The building simply stood there in silence atop the magma, as if it were the very center of this Demon Dynasty, yet there was not a single sound from it. No doubt its master, like all her kin, was locked away beneath the magma as well…

Emhardt quickly arrived in front of the building, only to see that its great Gate reflected him—floating in midair—like a gigantic mirror. The Gate was tightly closed, and standing so small before it, Emhardt couldn’t help wondering how on earth he was supposed to open it.

But just then, a few lines of text suddenly flickered across the mirrored surface of the Gate:

“I am the of myself, I am the thought of thought.”
