Capítulo 772: 143. Yellow Sparrow (4k)

Fisher carried Valentina on his back as he leaped upwards, hurrying towards the base’s location, but he didn’t bring her all the way to the cursed gate. Instead, he placed her behind a door, then turned around and said to Valentina,

“Leave the rest to . Wait here. Of course, if anything changes, just do as I’ve told you before. But whatever happens, don’t take off the ring I gave you, okay?”

Fisher had already roughly calculated the possible scenarios and devised corresponding strategies during his rush from the lower platform to the top. That’s why he was now giving Valentina a boost of confidence.

Valentina sat on the ground, hugging her knees, then nodded. The Magic Ring on her finger sparkled with a faint glow, the very ring that protected her as the Moon Princess from being detected by the curse.

Fisher then took Emhardt out from his embrace and placed him next to Valentina, and then he instructed Emhardt,

“Emhardt, stay by Valentina’s side. If anything unexpected occurs, it’s up to you to help her…”

Emhardt reluctantly turned his head and glanced at Fisher behind him. Originally, he had wanted to go to the top with Fisher, but sensing the intense vibrations starting to co from above, as if a battle had already begun, he hesitated and then decided to heed Fisher’s words, staying by Valentina’s side,

“Fine… just don’t die, or else I’ll expose all your misdeeds to the public.”

Fisher nodded silently, then extended his Fluid Sword and leaped towards the base’s location above, leaving Valentina and Emhardt side by side on the ground.

Valentina carefully touched the inner side of her clothing where, without a trace, the shape of a knife handle was outlined by her garnts.

“Screech!”

The higher Fisher leaped, the more he felt a vibration that seed to emanate from deep within his soul, along with the all too familiar shrieking sound that resonated through the space within the Wutong. In the center of this cylindrical, spacious area, a door approximately twenty ters tall had been slightly opened. Fisher could feel that both Erwin and the base were inside.

He cautiously activated another Magic Ring he had prepared that could isolate the detection of curses. Then, he entered through the gate to find a lengthy corridor behind it, which ended without another door, revealing the scene of a vast room at the far end.

It was a room filled with a sense of ritual, where even the walls and ceiling were carved with various styles of Phoenix designs. Right in the center of the room stood a throne made of black minerals—identical to the one Fisher had seen in his dreams, except this ti he was facing it head-on.

On the throne, a grotesque and twisted creature lay, its hard-to-describe flesh covered with irregular black feathers. At the very top of its distorted body grew three or four pus-filled bumps, each unevenly studded with dense and glittering eyes the color of Ice—the sa he had seen associated with the curse.

Just the sight of that vast and eerie creature was enough to make Fisher’s scalp tingle, for he recognized that the being on the throne was of a Life Rank far superior to both him and Erwin. It had no sense of consciousness and resembled more a twisted mass of madness than anything else, constantly opening its many mouths to yell unintelligible speeches.

This ugly and misshapen monster was the incomplete base ford by the Phoenix Species after being contaminated by beings of the Spirit Realm. At that mont, it had a beautifully crafted giant sword embedded in it—a relic that was significantly more advanced than the Ice Prince Sword or the Moon Princess Sword he had seen before. It seed to be the Phoenix King’s own sword.

From the Phoenix King’s sword grew an Ice that seed alive, freezing the base on the throne in place, yet so of its tentacles were still growing out and fighting Erwin, who was standing in front of the massive throne and wearing a bird-beak mask.

Far away in the vast hall, Erwin was strenuously dealing with the tentacles and flesh spreading from the Ice-encased base. It appeared that even Erwin was having difficulty with the base, which had exceeded the Mythical Rank. Conversely, since the base had no consciousness, if Valentina’s situation were to be disregarded, it wouldn’t be able to do much against Fisher or Erwin.

Quietly observing every movent of Erwin and the cursed creature from the dark corridor behind, Fisher slowly approached the front hall. However, he suddenly felt a chill on his back and heard a calm voice at the sa ti,

“Are you waiting for both and that curse to be mutually wounded, Fisher?”

Fisher paused for a mont, his eyes flickering slightly. The battle inside the great hall continued, but Erwin, holding his arms, had sohow already appeared standing in the darkness beside him. His bird-beak mask seed to lift slightly, and its lenses reflected Fisher’s image.
