Chapter 651: Chapter 526 Fierce
Su Mo walked straight past Hai Mo with Antari and headed for Spade’s office.
Soon, Su Mo arrived in front of an office door, where he knocked.
A deep and powerful voice ca from inside.
“Co in.”
Su Mo took a deep breath, pushed open the door, and walked in; then he closed the door and called out loudly.
“Major Su Mo reporting for duty.”
At that mont, Spade was sitting behind his desk. He looked at Su Mo and waved his hand.
“Co, have a seat.”
Su Mo didn’t decline and walked directly over to sit in front of Spade.
Seeing this, Spade appreciated Su Mo even more; his courage was not just ordinary. He was clean and decisive, free from bureaucratic equivocation, which very much suited his taste.
“Do you know why I asked for you to co here?”
“I do not. Please enlighten , sir.”
Su Mo replied succinctly. Considering the matter carefully, he realized he had never known Spade before and certainly couldn’t have offended him. There was no reason for Spade to trouble him, so why worry? He would say what needed to be said.
Of course, Su Mo was unaware of one thing; had he known that he had just publicly rejected the courtship of Spade’s beloved niece, he wouldn’t have been so at ease.
“This is your combat log report, detailing everyone’s records and evaluations of your battles at the Imprisoned Planet Fortress. Would you like to have a look?”
Spade gazed at Su Mo, his presence exerting a very strong ntal pressure.
“No need, sir. If there is an issue, please feel free to speak directly.”
Su Mo replied, steeling himself.
“Haha, what issue could there be? Nothing but praise. I’ve seen the combat footage recorded by Lin Ming and the others; you’re much stronger than I anticipated.”
Spade tapped his fingers on the desk, laughing heartily.
“You flatter , sir.”
“No, I am not flattering you. Your strength indeed far exceeds my expectations. However, there is a saying in this world that the greater a person’s ability, the more likely they bring either hope or disaster. I want to ask you, which do you think you represent? I expect you to answer honestly.”
Spade looked straight into Su Mo’s eyes, ready to catch any hint of unusual expression at a mont’s notice.
“I believe it is the forr.”
Su Mo replied very calmly.
After hearing Su Mo’s response, Spade did not dwell too much on this question but began to discuss another matter.
“I’ve heard from Li Ruiqi that you actively assisted the Sky Dragon Guild in the Star Ring World a long ti ago.”
“That is correct.”
“Back in the Star Ring World, during the siege of Praying Dragon City, how involved were you? What happened after, and why did you disappear?”
“I was heavily involved. It was Qian Chengxue and I who defeated the AI ‘Engrossed’ in Praying Dragon City. Afterwards, I died in battle, so I left the ga.”
Su Mo explained the situation succinctly.
“Good. The questions I am about to ask, I hope you will answer them truly from your heart.”
Spade slowly stood up, his towering and robust stature overwhelming Su Mo.
“Understood.”
Su Mo replied, holding his breath.
“Please tell honestly why you joined the Federation Army, why you applied to join the GT departnt. Are you prepared to fight and sacrifice for the GT departnt and the Federation Governnt?”
Spade asked sternly, his piercing gaze fixed on Su Mo’s eyes.
The whole room was eerily quiet, the atmosphere thick to the breaking point.
Su Mo took a deep breath and replied.
“I am willing.”
Upon hearing Su Mo’s words, a spark flashed in Spade’s eyes and he extended his hand towards Su Mo.
“Very good, I hereby declare that your ZZ review officially starts now. You will undergo three months of training and a final assessnt. I look forward to you becoming one of us.”
Su Mo, slightly startled at first, eventually gripped Spade’s hand, feeling the trendous strength in it!
“I look forward to the day you beco an official substitute mber, a pillar of the future for the Federation, and a source of pride and heroism for the Federation!”
Spade spoke with a heavy tone to Su Mo. If possible, he would have preferred to allow Su Mo more ti for assessnt. However, Su Mo was too conspicuous, too outstanding to suppress. Furthermore, Su Mo was about to have his own fourth generation Biological cha; holding him back had beco pointless, so he decided to initiate the review prematurely.
“Thank you, Lord Spade.”
“All right, there’s nothing else. You’ll be inford of any further details later. You may go now.”
Spade gave the signal to conclude the eting.
“Yes, sir.”
Su Mo felt a heavy burden lifted and withdrew from the office.
Soon, Spade was left alone in the office.
Just then, the wall behind him cracked open, and Augustus stepped out.
“What do you think?” Augustus asked, hands behind his back.
“Better than I expected, but also worse…” Spade replied lightly.
“How so?” Augustus was slightly taken aback.
“Su Mo is not purely of military background; the Federation needs beings of absolute loyalty. I hope he will pass the assessnt and not disappoint us.”
“Every year, so many go through the review; if they fail, they beco marginalized. What’s there to fuss over?” Augustus said nonchalantly.
“The problem is that the Federation needs Su Mo’s strength, and desperately so,” Spade said earnestly.
After hearing this, Augustus’s expression also beca very serious.
