Chapter 652: Chapter 526: Very Fierce_2
…
On the other side, Su Mo walked toward the entrance of G2 district as the formal audit began.
In theory, this was a good thing. Once successful, he would be able to work officially with Qian Chengxue. Yet for so reason, he felt rather heavy-hearted.
It wasn’t long before Su Mo erged from G2 district, and saw Qian Chengxue standing there waiting for him.
He hurried over.
“Sorry to keep you waiting.”
Qian Chengxue saw Su Mo and showed a slight smile, asking with concern, “How did it go? Was the conversation smooth? Lord Spade didn’t give you a hard ti, did he?”
“Don’t worry, he did not. Lord Spade just notified that the audit has officially started,” Su Mo explained after pondering for a few seconds.
Qian Chengxue revealed a slightly surprised expression upon hearing Su Mo’s words.
“It started so soon?”
Su Mo nodded and then continued to inquire about Qian Chengxue’s own experience.
“When you joined the GT departnt before, did you go through any audits like this?”
Qian Chengxue hesitated a bit as if unsure how to explain to Su Mo. She took a mont to collect her thoughts and then slowly began to clarify.
“I did experience such audits.”
“What exactly were they like?”
“Actually, it wasn’t much. It was just a period of training and classes, but the most important part was a final assessnt.”
“What kind of assessnt?”
“I’m not clear on the details. Each final assessnt is different. If I take myself as an example, my final assessnt was…”
Qian Chengxue seed to struggle as if recalling so particularly troubling mories.
Seeing this, Su Mo said to Qian Chengxue, “Let’s not talk about these heavy topics. It’s not bad news after all, it should be considered a good thing, right?”
“Yes, indeed, it’s sothing good. How about I treat you to lunch?”
Qian Chengxue nodded as she responded to Su Mo.
“Sure.”
Su Mo was only too glad to agree imdiately.
“What would you like to eat?”
Qian Chengxue kindly inquired.
“Anything is fine, you decide.”
Su Mo really wasn’t picky about food; he could even stomach a nutrition bar.
“How about we go to the music restaurant we visited last ti? Actually that day…”
Qian Chengxue contemplated and mustered the courage to speak, not wanting Su Mo to misunderstand or feel hurt again.
Yet before she could finish, Su Mo interrupted her.
“No need to say more, I understand. Let’s just go to that sa place.”
“Okay!”
And so the two made their way toward Central District.
…
After a while, Su Mo and Qian Chengxue arrived at Tide Music Restaurant.
The hosts at the door were as lovely and pleasing to the eye as ever, respectfully greeting them.
“Good day to both of you, do you have a reservation?”
“No, do you have any tables available?”
Qian Chengxue asked simply.
“Sir, Miss, there is just one spot left, and it’s quite quiet. Please follow .”
The hostess replied with a smile.
Su Mo and Qian Chengxue followed the hostess into the restaurant, sitting down in a quiet corner.
Qian Chengxue ordered a few dishes casually.
This was the first ti the two of them were dining alone together so close, and for a mont they weren’t sure what to say.
After so ti, Qian Chengxue was the first to break the silence. She began to chat with Su Mo, “Why did you suddenly decide to enlist and board the Black Brilliance after going ho?”
“Chen Shan and Xiao Wen extended the invitation to , so I ended up on the ship by a stroke of destiny. How about you? How have you been since we parted ways?” Su Mo explained.
“Not long after you left, I was sacrificed in the Earth Cup battle. Later, due to certain reasons, I left my family. I wanted to travel to clear my mind, but unexpectedly I received an invitation from Council President Long Ming. Then I joined the Military Departnt for special closed training, and later on I joined the GT departnt and took part in expeditionary operations,” Qian Chengxue briefly shared her circumstances with Su Mo.
Despite her few words, Su Mo could tell that Qian Chengxue hadn’t had an easy ti either.
At that mont, the waiter brought over a series of exquisite seafood dishes, placing them in front of the two.
Taking up his chopsticks with courage, Su Mo picked up a tender peeled shrimp and placed it on Qian Chengxue’s plate.
At that mont, Su Mo felt his heart inexplicably beat faster.
Qian Chengxue gently said, “Thank you.”
She picked up her chopsticks and began to eat, making the atmosphere suddenly warm and intimate.
Seeing Qian Chengxue accept the food he had offered, Su Mo felt incredibly happy inside. Even he could understand that Qian Chengxue seed to be accepting a closer relationship.
Then Su Mo suddenly rembered the ti he had waited at the restaurant beside the station all night.
He was sowhat puzzled, wondering why Qian Chengxue hadn’t co that ti.
Just as Su Mo was about to ask, he hesitated and eventually swallowed his words. Why stir up the painful past when things are going well now?
And perhaps he had been too pushy at the ti?
Forget those thoughts, things are going well now. Taking it slow, pursuing her bit by bit without taking too big a step that might scare her again. After all, Qian Chengxue is the kind of girl who seems cold but is warm inside, a bit introverted and shy. She needs to be pursued slowly, allowing feelings to develop gradually.
While Su Mo was lost in these thoughts, he noticed that Qian Chengxue’s cheeks were slightly flushed as she picked up a piece of tender fish and placed it on Su Mo’s plate.
“Try this, it’s quite good.”
“Sure,” Su Mo responded, taking a bite.
“By the way, you’re still staying in a shared dorm, aren’t you?” Qian Chengxue asked with her neck blushing through.
“Yes, four people to a room,” Su Mo answered with a nod.
