The sound of panting from the team after fighting several demons in the gloomy hallways. Donny groaned thinking about how difficult things are and wishing they were easier while Veronicah didn't relax.
Her eyes scanned the visible area for enemies and only then could she deem the area a good place to rest.
"I think it might be getting chilly around here," Marie aired.
The others looked at her and felt the sa chill she was feeling. The talis was nearby and unaware of their presence.
"Yeah, you're right. But there aren't any vents where this chill air is coming from." Dante pointed after looking around.
It heard their voices and slowly crept toward them. Making sure they couldn't see it, though it couldn't see, it manoeuvred stealthily on all fours to reduce the sound it made.
Exuding the chill air, the tallis slowly crept around the corner. The team felt the area becoming colder, they tried to move away from the cold but the found difficulty in moving their limbs for the cold air was ant to induce stiffness in the prey's body.
The team didn't understand what was going on, then heard a soft growl coming from the end of the gloomy hall. The creature crawled in the darkness; it's mouth open and the rows of teeth spinning inside.
Feared settled in them and the air beca heavy for Marie and Donny. Dante knew that these wasn't one creature that would be easy to topple and overco. Veronicah drew her sword and stood in a battle stance, her sword in her hands placed in front of her. She took a deep gulp of her saliva knowing this was her end.
She was tensed and focused on the enemy ahead of her. "Run!" she shouted. The others tried to speak to her and make her co with them, but she shouted once more for the team to flee. She was terrified.
Seeing how she wouldn't listen they left her behind to face the shrieking creature that didn't wait for her sacrifice. It lunged itself toward her. Her movents slow, she could only block the lunge, and it swung its scrawny arm, and it hit her with its claws.
Kicking the fat demon in the shin, it fell to one knee and Ravedos punched it square in the face with his gauntlet caving its head in.
Origus was impressed and wondered how much he was holding back. Blood dripped from the gauntlet and Ravedos faced Origus. Angered and breathing heavily, he narrowed his eyes and took a step forward.
The room they both were in beca dimr. The pod behind the demon was two and half average height n tall and two average sized n wide and the organism inside had enough ti to be awaken.
"I wonder if you are ready to face so old monsters?" Origus inquired.
Silence loud enough to pierce one's ears remained in the room, though there was so buzzing and humming from the machines behind the room. Even though it couldn't be seen vividly he knew that there were many more but smaller pods that side.
Another step he took toward the enemy. Origus smirked deviously and chuckled madly and said, "This is how we die together!" The tubes that were in his back ca out one by one and he transford into a disgusting and gory creature.
His skin tore as his body grew in size, a mutation was modifying his body and created a hideous monstrosity that had sharp fangs that could break bones, hands so large they would crush a human with sharp claws that would be used to impale other demons. Replacing his torn skin was a harder layer of skin that seed impenetrable to bullets and other weapons that were not made by the elves.
Large horns grew out of his forehead, and his legs grew to a large size. He thought he would have had sense, but he was foolish to think so. The transformation made him a mindless beast that wanted nothing more than kill anything that moved.
His gaze locked on to Ravedos and he rushed to attack him. His large, clawed hands were swung but the demon-angel barely dodged the sweep.
'What is he doing? I guess he lost himself to his need to eradicate ,' he thought in his head.
Tentacles were shot out from the beast, and it had caught him by surprise. It went through his chest, going through one of his hearts. He coughed up a little bit of blood. He then cut the tentacle leaving him with a hole through his chest.
He fell down to his knees in pain. Infuriated he looked up to the beastly Origus, breathing erratically feeling himself losing his temper. Clamping on the little peace he had, he attacked the beast with his bare hands.
A few punches to harm didn't work nor could he claw through the thick skin. He retreated away to give himself distance co up with a plan.
The beast charge with its head down. Catching the monster by the horns he tried to push back but couldn't plant his feet properly, because of the beast.
Going through a fall walls, the demon-angel was getting his footing down and then he stopped it in its tracks, then he used strength to push back. A large hand swipe and hit him. He flew along the hallway they were in.
The hallway had black walls, completely different from the others on the sublevel. It was made more peculiar by the claw marks all over the walls. Sliding on the floor he crashed into a wall about fifty tres away from the beast.
Bricks fell on his body and the pain he felt his left side was excruciating. "Is this how you will die Body?" his Mind asked.
"No, this is not my end!" his Body exclaid. "I need more power!"
"Once more power is granted, you won't be able to fight your urges anymore," his Mind said.
"What urges?" asked the Body.
"You will find out," his Body spoke with a sly grin.
Quickly rising to his feet, he stared the beast down, his body healing faster than it normally would. He knew his strength increased and he held his favourite weapon, his sword, in his right hand with the tip on the floor.
The beast had turned to face him. Then it began to decrease in size. It shrunk to more of the human size. Standing on both their legs, Origus laughed at him mockingly. "You raise your power when you are about to lose?" he asked. "A pitiful display of power. I struggled because of you. Now when I have beco stronger and about to kill you your strength increases."
Ravedos gripped the hilt tightly and slowly took a deep breath. "I am only doing what I need to stop you," he spoke calmly. "I have decency to get rid of you and stop your plan. You can call a coward but rember what you are. A monster!"
anwhile the team had gone far enough from the tallis. Marie, terrified, looked at the two n she was with. Her breathing was fast and irregular, she tried to utter a word, but none could leave. Donny hugged her tightly and tried to calm her down, "We can get through this," he reassured.
"Veronicah died for us and you want to get through this?!" Marie cried out.
Dante was silent he didn't know to do. Froze in place as the mory of losing those he cared about before.
