The putrid sll of blood beca even stronger. Treading slowly through the halls of Origus's underground lab, Ravedos walked past several rooms that contained demons, human test subjects and lab experints.

Disfigured people sitting, crying, wailing in pain, scratching the walls, succumbing to their pain and others killing themselves. They were in rugged clothes, tested upon to see if their bodies could survive the conditions of Hell. Standing by one of the lab rooms, the white door had a small window to look through, and he saw a man sitting against the wall in the corner, shelled up. His flesh covered in cuts and scratches.

The he was situated in was a small square room, blood stained the walls in splashes and streaks, the walls padded white and soundproof. He sensed soone outside and looked, his iris glowing yellow, hair ssy and yellow. Their skin was dark, but the lighting made it hard to see. When Ravedos looked away then back. The scrawny and lanky figure stood by the door and warned him, "Leave this place while you can!" he shouted.

Unlike the other victims, his mind was sounder and it was evident which race he was, a dark elf.

These beings were even harder to find in the world after the war against the demons. Much like the rare elves, they had gone into hiding and made it near impossible to find them and their ho. Their populace still guarded secret from the outside world.

Ravedos heard the ssage and walked away leaving the dark elf to slowly await his fate.

Sowhere else in the building the team had finally escaped the room. They had fought with most of their strength, but they couldn't. Seeing the guns that the armoured n had they took their arms and carried on through the sublevel to find their team leader and to kill the monster that led them down there.

"Well, Captain sure did a number on these creeps," Dante said as the team looked around the hallway their leader was. He indeed left a ss, and these demons had no where to go. They were once human gone through multiple excruciating tests that their bodies could not handle. Now just corpses waiting to rot and be eaten away by maggots.

"He must've gone this way!"

"Hold on a sec, we can't just charge in headfirst without a plan!"

"Fuck that! We had a plan but that went to shit. Going headfirst is all we have now."

"Donny what do you say?"

"I have to go with Dante on this one, Marie. He may be lacking in so departnts of intelligence but coming up with a plan will take ti and at the sa ti we don't what the heck is going on."

"What are you saying?"

"There are too many things we can't account for and a plan can't work like that."

During their quarrel Veronicah caught a demon crawling around. With swift slash of her sword, she decapitated the demon. The head rolled slowly on the ground, Veronicah looked at it in disgust and glared. 'How did I let them do whatever they pleased to ?' she thought in her head.

The others fell to silence; they didn't expect a stealthy attack from the demons. The angel turned her body toward the others, her clothes covered with so blood, she shot a weak smile at her companions. "Looks like we co up with one on the fly,"

"Agreed!"

Ravedos got closer to the large power. So demons had stood in his way, but he had made easy work of them. A trail of body parts and blood he had left in his wake toward his goal.

"How many have you killed already? Twenty? Fifty? Yet you feel no pain for them?" his Mind asked in his head.

"The number is irrelevant and so is my feelings for these demons."

"Is that so Body? Then why was it that you had the chance to kill, to fight for others and to claim lives with emotions for the years you had on this world? Hmm? You grew what they call a conscious and now it's gone. What had happened to it? Did you relinquish from yourself?"

His body while in internal conflict moved on autopilot and made decisive decisions quickly. Only the growing power guided his body's path toward it.

"Why is that the case? Are you trying to prove a point?"

"Yes! My point is that you choose to show emotions for others and not all your foes. That is what a dastardly person would do. Alas you are not human and yet you are dastardly!"

"… I shall not say more than I need."

"Really!?!? Now of all tis? Why?"

"Shh! Sothing is coming,"

His body jumped back as a thread like tentacle piercing through the wall. 'What the fuck was that?' he asked himself. Then a body burst through the walls and knocked him across the hallway to the other wall. His body hit the ground hard after the wall. Groaning in pain he rushed to his feet before a thick muscular leg kicked him on the side back into the wall.

The large foot crashed into the wall leaving a large hole. Ravedos turned to attack the large demon, landed a punch on its belly then it grabbed his arm and launched him through the wall into another room where Origus was. Tubes were protruding from his exposed back in front of a large pod with an unfamiliar figure inside.

Ravedos gasped for air on the ground groaning. "What is all this?" he asked after slowly assessing the environnt.

Origus smirked gleefully. Thinking of what to say and he rembered the response he always wanted to use. "It is simply a contingency plan for when I fail to take this world by the acceptable ans," he paused for a mont. "You wouldn't understand how troubling it gets when people don't fall in line with what you want. Even my subordinates didn't want to follow all the way."

Ravedos got kicked by the large demon on the side and hit the near side wall. As he stood on his feet, Orisgus shoot a tentacle toward him and wrapped it around his neck strangling him. The leader struggled keeping the tentacle from crushing his neck and cutting off his air supply.

The large demon walked up to him and punched him square in the chest hard. It knocked the wind out of him, and he was thinking to himself. 'I can't take them both at once, so I have to separate them. But how?' he thought in his head. Then an idea popped in his mind.

Before he was hit again with a heavy fist, he summoned his sword and then cut the tentacle. On his knees he looked up and saw a foot about to crush him, he then rolled to his left to dodge it.

Another tentacle nearly grabbed him, rolling forward to dodge that as well. Using his pistol he quickly shot a bullet at the large pod behind the boss, but the bullet was caught. That was all the ti he needed to use his gauntlets on the large demon. A strong right hook to the side sent the demon into a nearby table.

After crashing into them the demon laughed joyously because he realised, he found a worthy foe to fight him.

Captain was mainly concerned with Origus and so he rushed him. Tentacles were sent to his direction, but he quickly dodged the barrage.

anwhile his team was fighting more demons following their leader's trail.

Guns went off and demons dropped, swords were swung slicing and dicing demons. They were slowly becoming exhausted, and the adrenaline Donny and Marie had was keeping them from feeling the effects.

In a bloodied hallway they were about to et a creature that they had never encountered.
