The long-unheard, familiar buzzing sound made Yang Sen and Old Bai, who had just entered the room, pause slightly.
Seeing Lu Chuan in front of the computer, Yang Sen asked in surprise, "Lu, are you comparing fingerprints?"
The fingerprint matching system only makes this special buzzing sound when a complete match is found and successful.
Old Bai casually took a cigarette from the pack of Zhonghua on the table, handed one to Yang Sen, lit one for himself, and walked over to hand one to Lu Chuan: "Didn’t you and Old Liu go out for visits this morning?"

But the matter of Song Kun’s murder delayed it.
Initially, they planned to work overti over the weekend to get it done.
Unexpectedly, Lu Chuan acted first.
Actually, the usual workload is much larger than this week; typically, it involves fifty sets of fingerprints a week.
The lesser amount this week was also due to the attention taken away by the Song Kun case.
Many cases were temporarily shelved by the police stations and the Criminal Investigation Teams across districts and counties.
"So how did it go? How many sets were successfully matched?"
Yang Sen initially wanted to ask if any fingerprints were successfully matched.
Because that’s generally how Cri Scene Investigation work goes, successful matches are rare, and most have issues.
But rembering the buzzing sound they heard upon entering the room, they definitely had at least one successful match.
"Luck was alright, the fingerprints sent over this ti were pretty clear; out of twelve sets, nine were successfully matched."
"Nine sets?"
Yang Sen exclaid in surprise, and Old Bai stopped smoking, looking at Lu Chuan in shock.
"Yes, nine sets is slightly fewer, but the remaining three sets of fingerprints probably don’t have target data in the database."
Lu Chuan seed to misunderstand, explaining why it was nine sets instead of all successful: "I’ve already put them into the database, so once we collect the fingerprints later, we should be able to match them."
Ahem.
Yang Sen coughed twice: "That’s not what I ant, for nine sets... the success rate is very high."
Old Bai nodded heavily, agreeing with Yang Sen: "Very good, in the past, matching ten out of fifty sets in a week was considered good results."
The success rate of fingerprint matching isn’t as high as imagined.
Yang Sen and Old Bai aren’t slacking off all day; their technical abilities are average.
Under normal working hours, they can process at most seventy or eighty sets of fingerprints a week.
When encountering tricky cases, forty or fifty sets is a full workload.
Successfully matching ten sets is a normal achievent.
Achieving twenty would be an impressive result.
This applies to the Haizhou Criminal Investigation Team and similarly to others.
The teams in Tianzhou and the provincial capital are slightly stronger, but not outrageously so.
Lu Chuan being able to match nine out of twelve sets signifies he is at an expert level.
"Did you two co back too?"
Liu Guodong entered right after them, raising the report in his hand: "How’s your investigation going, any findings?"
Seeing Liu Guodong enter, Yang Sen turned around, taking another cigarette from the pack to hand to Liu Guodong: "No suspicions, the two people we checked are Gao Sheng’s colleagues, they’ve been on his electric bike."
Old Bai also walked over, pointing to Lu Chuan in front of the computer: "Lu just finished matching all twelve sets of fingerprints this week, with nine successful."

Liu Guodong paused slightly when they returned from the Qingsong dical Examination Center, it was noon.
Looking at the ti, only three or four hours have passed.

Since Wang Manli is suspicious, could it be related to Gao Sheng’s disappearance?
