"Anyway, you should not have co this close to ," Max said to his mother with a calm smile as the energy inside his body surged once again.
In the next instant his entire figure erupted with seven colored lightning. Crimson, gold, violet, silver, azure, erald, and deep black streaks of divine punishnt exploded outward from his body as he activated the Storm King's inheritance once again with the seven lightnings of divine punishnt serving as its foundation.
The power that burst forth was imnse.
Bang!
The mont the inheritance fully activated, the surge of lightning radiating from Max's body blasted outward violently. His mother was pushed backward by the sudden eruption of power as the shockwave forced her to retreat several steps before she stabilized herself.
"This again," she said as her expression turned solemn while watching the seven colored lightning dancing around Max's body.
"Co on. Let us have a good fight," Max replied with a faint smile as he raised his sword.
The mont his words fell, the battlefield erupted into motion.
Max's figure vanished as his body turned into a streak of seven colored lightning. His speed under the Storm King's inheritance reached a terrifying level as he crossed the distance between them in an instant. The lightning surrounding him crackled violently as he swung his sword toward her with explosive force.
His mother reacted imdiately.
Golden light burst from her back as two radiant wings ford behind her. The wings were made entirely from condensed golden energy and they spread wide with majestic brilliance. With a single flap of those wings her body shot forward with incredible speed, allowing her to match Max's lightning enhanced movent.
The clash began.
Her golden sword collided with Max's blade in a flash of blinding light.
The sound of tal striking tal echoed throughout the arena as sparks of golden radiance and streaks of lightning exploded outward. The two of them moved across the battlefield with astonishing speed, their figures flashing and disappearing repeatedly as they exchanged attacks.
Max's sword descended again and again with terrifying force.
Each strike carried the power of the seven colored lightning flowing through his body. His movents were explosive and relentless while his strength was equally overwhelming. Every swing of his sword caused waves of lightning to ripple through the air.
Yet his mother matched him without hesitation.
Her golden wings continued to beat behind her as she moved with graceful speed through the battlefield. The radiant sword in her hand danced with elegant precision as she parried and countered Max's attacks.
From ti to ti she unleashed additional techniques.
Golden light gathered around her as constructs ford instantly at her command. Spears made of pure light shot toward Max from different directions. Shields of radiant energy appeared to block his strikes. Swords of luminous power rained down from above in an attempt to trap him within their formation.
The battlefield beca a storm of golden constructs and flashing lightning.
However Max remained unfazed.
His sword moved with terrifying precision as the fifth level concept of Severing Sword infused every strike he made. The invisible sharpness surrounding his blade sliced through the golden constructs without rcy.
Spears of light shattered the mont they t his sword.
Golden barriers split apart under the sharp edge of his blade.
Even the radiant swords that descended from above were cut cleanly in half as his sword flashed through the air.
Max's speed continued to rise as the seven colored lightning pushed his movents to their peak. His figure appeared and disappeared like a bolt of divine punishnt striking across the battlefield. At the sa ti his physical strength made every clash with his mother's sword thunder across the arena.
The two of them exchanged blows repeatedly as the arena shook from the intensity of their battle.
Golden light and seven colored lightning intertwined violently across the battlefield while their swords collided again and again in a fast paced exchange that showed neither hesitation nor weakness.
"Haha, it is fun battling with you, mother, but I suppose every good thing must co to an end," Max muttered quietly while still facing her.
As the battle raged around them, Max's mind moved with calm determination. Within the depths of his consciousness he whispered a single command.
"Extre Speed."
This was the first ti he had ever used the Extre Speed ability of the Storm King's inheritance.
The mont that ability activated, the lightning surrounding his body erupted violently. The seven colored lightnings of divine punishnt surged through him like a raging river and his figure vanished from where he stood.
He did not simply move faster.
He beca a blur of seven colored lightning.
The battlefield seed to freeze in comparison to his movent. In a single instant Max crossed the distance between them and appeared directly in front of his mother.
Earlier in the battle she had been able to match his movents by using the wings of golden light ford from her Heavenly Luminance Sacred Bloodline. Her speed had been extraordinary and she had reacted to every strike he made without hesitation.
But this ti things were different.
From her perspective she only saw a sudden flash of seven colored lightning streak across the battlefield.
Then Max's face was already in front of her.
Her eyes widened in shock as her mind struggled to process what had just happened. Instinctively she tried to react. She tried to move her golden sword to block the attack that she knew was coming.
But she was simply too slow.
Before her body could respond, Max's sword had already moved.
The blade flashed with terrifying speed.
The strike was so precise and swift that it caused no pain at all, exactly as Max had intended. The sword passed through her form in a clean and silent motion.
For a brief mont everything beca still.
Then her body began to glow.
Golden motes of light slowly appeared across her figure as the soul fragnt sustaining her existence began to disperse. The golden radiance grew brighter as her form gradually started dissolving into countless particles of light.
Max stood before her as tears began to fall from his eyes.
"Mother, hold on for a few more years," he said softly. His voice trembled with emotion as he looked at her fading figure. "It won't be long before I co to save you. Until then stay safe mother."
His mother stared at him in shock.
Those words made no sense to her. She could not understand why the human standing before her had spoken them with such pain and determination. Confusion filled her eyes as she tried to grasp the aning behind his voice.
But before she could think any further, her body completely transford into golden motes of light.
The glowing particles drifted gently through the air for a brief mont before disappearing entirely.
With her disappearance, the ninety eighth floor of the Combat Legion Tower had been cleared.
