Lu Rugao sat at the head of the table. After sweeping a glance over everyone, she spoke with an air of indifference. "The purpose of inviting you all to this financing conference today should be quite clear."
"The stock market war between my Lu Corporation and the Luo Group has reached a fever pitch. Therefore, I would like to ask for your assistance!"
As soon as she finished, the room erupted with enthusiastic responses.
"I, Cheng Lin, in the na of the Cheng Family of Capital City, am willing to invest five billion to help Miss Lu win this battle!"
"We, the Han Family of Capital City, will contribute eight billion to assist Miss Lu in winning this battle!"
"We, the Cui Family of Jin City, will invest five billion to help Miss Lu win this battle!"

Su Linger scoffed as well. "With the influence of the Five Great Families of Capital City, all we have to do is ask, and countless people will line up to give us their money just for a favor in return."
"And you? A worthless company from so backwater town. Outside of Yuncheng City, nobody even knows who you are! What do you possibly have to compete with us?! That pitiful amount of money you got by begging and pleading?"
Jin Zilong elegantly sipped his red wine. "Ling’er, you can’t expect these country bumpkins to understand what you’re saying. After all, the power and capabilities of the Five Clans of Capital City are sothing they couldn’t imagine in their entire lives!"
"Their insight is limited. They fail to realize that in the eyes of established families like ours, they are nothing more than nouveau riche," Murong Lin added with even greater disdain.
Following their lead, the others in the room began to chi in with their own mockery, verbally attacking Chen Xiao and his companions with words steeped in contempt.
Lu Rugao remained silent, quietly sipping her wine and allowing the crowd to ridicule the trio. The feeling of vindication is simply exhilarating. I’ve felt so aggrieved for so long, and now, I’ve finally turned the tables!
But then, Chen Xiao just smiled faintly. "Is that all?"
"Lu Rugao, if this is the extent of your abilities, then I’m going to be very disappointed."
His light words drifted through the air, causing everyone’s expression to stiffen.
Lu Rugao’s pretty face turned grim. "You really are all talk, aren’t you? Chen Xiao, I’ve already investigated your background completely!"
"The Luo Group must have strained its normal operations by pulling out ten or twenty billion in cash flow to fight us. Even if you desperately try to hide it, do you really think I’m a fool?"
"And the Zongheng Chamber of Comrce, while its foundation might be a little deeper than the Luo Group’s, it’s not by much. Miss Zhang, spending so much money so recklessly... aren’t you afraid of losing every penny?"

Chen Xiao applauded slowly. "You’re very confident. Unfortunately, you know nothing of my true strength."
His statent was t with a fresh wave of derisive laughter.
Su Linger sneered, "Ruge has already investigated your bank account down to the last digit. I bet you have so little money you can only afford a foot rub at a massage parlor, and nothing else!"
The crowd laughed even louder. The comnt wasn’t overtly aggressive, but it was intensely humiliating.
"You may have so brute force, but in a financial war, that laughable strength of yours is worthless. It just makes you look like a blockhead with brawn but no brains!" Jin Zilong seized the opportunity to belittle Chen Xiao, rcilessly wishing he could grind his face into the floor.
Just then, a calm voice sounded from outside. "Who said my junior brother is nothing but a brute?!"
As the words fell, two young won walked in.
One was Lu Wushuang, and the other, veiled and clad in a red silk dress, stood beside her.
"Second Senior Sister? Youngest Senior Sister?!" A smile blood on Chen Xiao’s face upon seeing them.
The two won smiled back at him.
"The Lu Family may be powerful, but we are not afraid of you! If you want to bully my junior brother and his wife, you’ll have to ask for our permission first!" Lu Wushuang declared, staring intently at Lu Rugao as she articulated each word. "Today, I, Lu Wushuang, in my personal capacity, will lend twenty billion to the Luo Group to help them win this battle!"
A clamor instantly swept through the room. Twenty billion in cash flow was no small sum. While their families could produce such an amount, they could not afford the consequences of losing it. Yet this woman had just offered it up so casually.
Lu Rugao glared at her. "Lu Wushuang, are you certain you want to oppose ?"
"So what if I do?!" Lu Wushuang retorted imperiously, showing not a hint of fear.
"Fine. I’ll rember that," Lu Rugao said with a slight nod. "I just hope you won’t regret this when you’ve lost every last cent."
"You think this little group of paupers, who scraped together loose change, can make us lose everything?" the veiled woman, Ye Hongyi, sneered. "We were watching from outside. We wondered how much you could possibly raise. It turns out that with more than a dozen of you, you only managed to gather a re fifty billion."
The mocking smile on her lips made everyone’s face tighten.
"Only fifty billion? You say that so lightly..." Su Linger snorted. "If you’re so capable, why don’t you co up with fifty billion yourself?!"
"Fine, as you wish," Ye Hongyi replied coolly. "Then I, Ye Hongyi, in my personal capacity, will lend fifty billion to the Luo Group to help them win this battle!"
At these words, the entire venue fell into a dead silence.
Su Linger’s face burned as if she’d been viciously slapped. Humiliation turning to rage, she scoffed repeatedly, "Fifty billion? I don’t believe you can produce that much. If we’re just talking big, then a trillion is nothing more than pocket change to ."
Ye Hongyi laughed. "I’m sorry, but I don’t get things done with words alone."
With that, she clapped her hands.
A blond-haired, blue-eyed man walked in from outside.
"Miss Ye." The man gave a slight bow to Ye Hongyi.
When the crowd saw this middle-aged man, however, their eyes widened in shock. It was Nicholas, the head of Swiss Bank in China. Swiss Bank was one of the world’s most secure and prestigious banks, serving only top-tier clients. The head of its China operations was a man so distinguished that even they had to treat him with the utmost respect. Yet here he was.
Nicholas then took out a laptop and addressed Ye Hongyi respectfully. "Miss Ye, due to the large amount of this transfer, special authorization is required. Please, enter your account number and password personally to initiate the transaction."
A confident smile played on Ye Hongyi’s lips as she tossed a bank card to Chen Xiao. "Junior brother, you do the transfer. You know the password."
Chen Xiao froze. So this is the card the old man wanted to give ! Good grief! My Second Senior Sister is using the money the old man ant for to put on such a grand show? Shouldn’t I be the one flexing like this?
He took a deep breath.
Then, under the watchful eyes of everyone in the room, he stood up, threw his shoulders back, and strode confidently toward Nicholas.
