Nyoran’s portal opened from the Nether Dinsion, and Nadia rushed out in her Quasi-Mythical Tier Revenant Deathhowl Wolf form.
Davis was waiting solemnly, his expression unreadable beneath the moonlight. But before he could even raise a hand in greeting, Nadia lunged at him, not with aggression, but with overwhelming affection. Despite her fearso form, gleaming dark purple fur etched in glowing golden-crimson runes, wings that stirred the clouds, and eyes like violet infernos, she leapt forward like an overexcited pup returning to her master after a long absence.
"Whoa!"
Davis staggered as her massive fra collided with his, but he caught her with practiced ease, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.
Nadia’s form shrank in his embrace until she was half his height.
"You..." Davis said, rubbing her horned forehead as her tail wagged furiously, "You’re getting heavier."
Nadia let out a deep, pleased growl, pressing her nose into his chest and releasing a breath that slled faintly of death energy and lilies. Her body pulsed with restrained power, the glowing runes shifting slightly as her aura reacted to Davis’s touch.
The fiery-red tips of her mane flickered like embers in the wind. They were red-death wisps.
Behind her, the portal crackled one last ti, and Nyoran appeared along with the scent of the nether haze and the faint echo of the abyss as she cawed.
Nyoran’s Nether-Winged Abyssal Raven form was dreadful to look at, but she happily cawed as she flew around in the skies. It seed that she was overjoyed to return and breath in the air of the living realm even though she was a nether beast currently.
Regardless, Davis’s focus was mostly on Nadia.
"You’re supposed to be a creature of dread and fear now," Davis teased, "Yet here you are, acting like a spoiled wolf pup."
Nadia lifted her small head, eyes gleaming with mischievous affection, and let out a soft, echoing whimper before transforming. Her runes glowed, wings covered her figure, until she stood before him in her humanoid appearance, wearing a faintly smoky purple-red robe that shimred with a death aura.
"But I missed you," Nadia whispered, looking up at him with a small, genuine smile, her cheeks faintly tinted with a rare blush, "And I evolved... I wanted you to be the first to see."
Davis looked at her for a mont longer as he gazed at her human features. Nadia’s hair was no longer just purple. She also had red streaks on her purple hair. Her eyes were of similar color, violet-gold or purple-gold. Her crescent mark on her forehead also turned golden.
He figured it was because she had beco Quasi-Mythical Tier.
He then placed a hand on her head, shaking it.
"I saw. You’ve grown stronger."
"You too... master~"
Nadia couldn’t suppress her smile. After getting closer, she could tell that Davis’s prowess had increased again. It didn’t appear to be a small increase either. He was still more powerful than her, allowing her to truly submit in both heart and bloodline.
Finally, by his side, Nadia felt like she could let go of all inhibitions.
Her senses, which had beco too alert and perceptive in order to deal with the dangers of the Nether Dinsion, finally had so chance to rest. She rested in his embrace, feeling like she could sleep for a year or two.
"Caw! Davis, I think I helped too much." Nyoran yelled out from the sky, "While the others raced towards the peak of the Empyrean Beast Stage, I have no choice but to stay at my current level or be no longer capable of entering this layer. I- need- compensation~"
"Sure, sure." Davis waved at her, "Help yourself in the Treasury. Whatever we have, you can take it. You earned it."
"Really? You won’t go back on your words?"
"Just don’t empty us and leave." Davis chuckled, "Aren’t you going to close the portal?"
Nyoran shook her raven head, "No. Illumina, Vereina, and Rokushi Mirai are also here on the other side. If you want to talk to them, this is your chance."
"Oh? They actually caught up to you?"
"Yes," Nyoran nodded, "They are incredibly fast. In the Nether Dinsion, most things cannot stop Illumina. She’s a natural hunter in the Shadow Dinsion, but the Nether Dinsion isn’t a challenge for her either in most areas. Only the sleeping entities that are of unknown nature and power can harm her."
"Sweet."
Davis also couldn’t stop smiling. His expedition force to the Nether Dinsion seed to have grown stronger than the Third Layer could no longer contain them. However, he wondered how they would be feeling since there were two won who loved him yet couldn’t see him.
His smile left his face. He instructed Nyoran to deliver three ssages for him.
He wished Illumina would not endanger herself during this ti and hide. This included all three of them. Since the Heaven’s Warriors spotted them in the Shadow Dinsion and Vereina and the others went as far as to end Lilliana Rayton, proving that they were more dangerous, he supposed they would gather their forces and try to eliminate them.
For the second ssage, he asked Illumina and Vereina to wait for him no matter what. It didn’t describe what they should be waiting for- whether his love or his presence, so that they could protect themselves better. Regardless, they were willing to wait.
For the final and third ssage, he gave a bunch of resources- one of them a Nether Devilarch Soul Core.
"This is..."
Vereina’s eyes widened as she continued reading the third letter.
[... Indeed, it is the Nether Devilarch Soul Core. I hunted down one since it ca out in this realm through so strange crack. I have also given a hundred Empyrean Grade Nether Devil Cores. After all, it seems like you would need it for forming a Godskull. Regardless, the Nether Devilarch Soul Core is yours. I don’t know what to do with it anyway. Vereina’s heart churned as she looked into the spatial ring Davis had gifted.
She pressed the letter over her bosom, keeping him in her heart, "I understand. I’ll beco more powerful for you and await your ergence. That’s why- you also don’t lose to the Covenant."
Illumina and Rokushi Mirai noticed that Vereina was in love. Although she wasn’t direct, she was quite open about it during their journey as well.
"..." Rokushi Mirai turned to look at Nyoran, "No ssages for ?"
Nyoran blinked, "He did say that he understood your actions and that you’re not at fault, but next ti around, it won’t be the sa. He had already declared that only he could kill his sister and no one else, so you should also follow it. Rokushi Mirai nodded. Sowhere in her heart, she felt relieved.
