Cassian Jennings’s heart sank as he listened to her. He shot up from the sofa. "Alia Avery, can’t you give a fucking break for once!?" After roaring into the phone, Cassian hung up.
He knew better than anyone what kind of place the underground marketplace was. He also believed that no matter how much Alia ssed around, she would never go to a place like that.
So, she wasn’t lying. She was really being hunted down.
At that thought, Cassian turned, grabbed his jacket from the sofa, and headed for the door, calling Aiden Avery as he went.
On the other end of the line, Alia Avery was completely stunned by Cassian’s shouting. ’Did he believe or not?’
’Forget it. Whatever. It’s not like I was actually counting on Cassian to co save anyway.’
’All I have to do is stall for ti and wait for Leo Joyce.’
Just then, a hand suddenly clamped down on her shoulder. "Still trying to run!" a man’s cold, irritated voice rang out.
Alia didn’t try to run again. Instead, she shoved her phone into her pocket, her hands clenched into fists. A wicked smile played on her lips as she turned around. "Not running anymore. Your grandma here is tired."
"Alia Avery, you’ve got so fucking nerve! If soone hadn’t paid to get you, I’d actually want to be your friend." She was the first woman who had dared to touch his n right in front of him.
And she’d beaten them so badly they were crying for their mothers.
Alia’s previously calm expression instantly darkened upon hearing Jonah Ross’s words. ’Soone paid him to get ?’
"I’ll give you one chance. Tell who sent you."
Jonah Ross sneered. "You don’t need to worry about that. Just co back with us quietly. Let the boys have their fun with you, and then you’ll be free to go."
"Heh..." Alia let out a wicked laugh, swinging her fist toward Jonah Ross. "In your dreams!"
Jonah Ross was quick, catching her small fist with ease. The smile was gone from his face, replaced by a hint of impatience. "Alia Avery, don’t do this the hard way. Behave, and I’ll make sure you suffer a little less."
"Do you even know who I am? How dare you touch ? Let make one thing clear," Alia said fiercely, without a trace of fear. "If a single one of you lays a finger on , I’ll make you regret the day you were born!"
"Hahaha, interesting. Very interesting. Boss, do you hear that? This little one actually dares to threaten you."
"Yeah, Boss. This is the first ti anyone has ever dared to threaten you."
...Listening to their banter, Alia’s expression turned thunderous. She wasn’t just making threats; she ant every single word.
’Anyone who dares to touch will absolutely regret the day they were born!’
’And as for the person who set this up, I’ll make them wish they were dead.’
Jonah Ross released Alia’s hand and waved for the n behind him to co forward and tie her up.
Alia looked at the approaching n without a shred of fear. "Don’t bother. I can walk on my own."
With that, she strode right up to Jonah Ross’s side.
Jonah Ross’s brow furrowed slightly, and a helpless, bitter smile tugged at his lips.
’I’ve never been a good guy, but right now... I actually want to let this girl go.’
Alia followed them into the underground marketplace. The mont she was inside, her eyes darted around, taking everything in. She had never been here before, but the atmosphere was surprisingly intriguing.
She glanced back at the man beside her and said with a cold smile, "Got a smoke?"
"..." Jonah Ross glanced at one of his n, signaling for him to give Alia a cigarette.
’Alia is going to suffer later anyway. For now, I might as well grant her requests.’
