Alia Avery took the cigarette, lit it, and began to smoke with unnerving calm.
As she smoked, she glanced around to see what gas everyone was playing.
Jonah Ross saw the little one not only smoking, but also watching everyone gamble—for money—with great interest.
At that mont, he was seriously starting to fucking wonder if he’d nabbed an imposter.
He waved his hand. "Take her to a room."
"Yes, sir." Hearing their boss give the order, the man imdiately started toward Alia Avery with a sleazy grin.
Alia Avery had just about finished her cigarette. She aid a kick at the man in disgust. "Get lost! Stay the hell away from !"
"Little one, I think you’ve forgotten why you’re here," the man taunted, dodging her kick.
"You want to sleep with ? Go take a look in the mirror and see what a piece of crap you are."
"You—" Hearing this, the man flew into a rage and raised his hand to strike Alia Avery.
But he was stopped by Jonah Ross. "What are you wasting ti for? Get over here!"
"Yes, Boss." The man lowered the hand he was about to use to hit Alia Avery and grabbed her arm instead.
Alia Avery’s brow furrowed, her expression dark. ’That bastard Leo Joyce still isn’t here.’
’If he doesn’t fucking get here soon, I’m going to get mauled by these scumbags.’
Alia Avery was forcefully dragged into the room at the far end of the hall. The mont she was inside, one of the n slamd the door shut.
At this point, no matter how composed Alia Avery had been, she could no longer keep her cool.
In her panic, she spotted a liquor bottle and glasses on a table. A vicious smile crossed her face. She wrenched her arm free from the man’s grasp and cursed, "You son of a bitch! Mark my words, I’ll chop that hand of yours off sooner or later!"
"Alia Avery, you’ve made it this far. Just give in," Jonah Ross said with a dark expression as he walked over to a sofa and sat down.
"Give in? The words ’give in’ don’t exist in my vocabulary!"
"Then what do you propose? You’re in my room now. Did you really think you could walk out of here untouched?"
’Alia Avery completely disagreed with Jonah Ross. Even if she couldn’t get out of here untouched, she’d make damn sure none of them would get out unscathed either.’
She started walking toward Jonah Ross. As she passed the table, her hand shot out and grabbed the liquor bottle. She was so fast that Jonah Ross and his n had no ti to react. Before they knew what was happening, the bottle was already crashing down on Jonah Ross’s head.
With a SMASH, blood instantly started trickling from Jonah Ross’s head.
Hearing the sound, the other n’s eyes went bloodshot with fury as they advanced on Alia Avery.
Jonah Ross, however, remained expressionless. He raised a hand to brush the glass shards from his clothes, then slowly rose to his feet. He lood over Alia Avery, his eyes filled with a dead, bottomless calm.
’In all his years, this was the first ti anyone had dared to strike him.’
A shiver of fear ran through Alia Avery, but she couldn’t show it. ’I’m Alia Avery! When have I ever been afraid of anything? No one can make feel this way... except Cassian Jennings.’
"Alia Avery, you brought this on yourself!" Jonah Ross’s hand shot out and clamped around her throat as he snarled viciously.
"Ack... cough, cough... You..." With her throat suddenly constricted, all Alia Avery could do was struggle in terror.
Jonah Ross held his grip for a long ti. Only when Alia Avery’s eyes fluttered shut and her struggles ceased did he finally fling her aside.
"Don’t hold back, boys. Enjoy yourselves," Jonah Ross said coldly, then turned and walked toward the door.
